Being a medical doctor - I find that I sometimes have a challenge with living in my head/mind or left brain a great deal. I set an intention many months ago to allow myself to begin opening up my right brain, to tap into the Creativity and Intuition that I had been too busy to listen to over the last few years.

This weekend I had an opportunity to Dance with the Energy of my Soul for hours and hours and hours and the Gifts that I received with that experience are absolutely Priceless.

If there are any logical, over achieving, perfectionists reading this blog - put away the day timer, turn your cell phone off, call your secretary and tell her to hold your appointments...
Breathe
Ground Yourself
Turn on the music (I recommend INTUITION by JEWEL)
Crank it up
and DANCE...
then Listen...
and Feel
your Soul will speak to you and it has so much to tell you...

Loving this Journey!
Dancing with the Energy of my Soul,
Dr. Sugar

Amen sister!

I too, as you know, have come to the conclusion that I need to loosen up a whole lot more. I love the idea of letting our soul dance....what freedom!

Thanks for the encouragement. So looking forward to us meeting soon.

Hugs from me girlfriend!

Anita
LIsa,
Dancing queen yes - - disco queen - (I am not so sure about that:) )
Dancing for me has really allowed me to get back in touch with who I am on the inside - to access my soul - to feel my body - and to just be - - without the brain going at 100 miles an hour with all the things I have to do in the next 10 minutes.
Allowing a deeper soul to soul connection with MY self has changed my life and that is certainly something I love! And of course you know that it is my deepest honor and privilege in life to work with amazing women like yourself - - I very humbly accept your compliment and just want to say my friend that - you are the one who has done all the work - - I simply placed one hand on your heart and pointed my other hand towards the sky - - and gently showed you how to see the world through different eyes.
A dear friend of mine once said - - The greatest gift you can ever give yourself is to fall completely in love with you -- - and that is SO true.

Dr.Sugar,
I cant help but Laugh when I think about ever having had a challenge with dancing. I now think I am a Disco Queen thanks to you and your assistance.

You really have helped me get back in touch with who Lisa really is. The work you do at your retreats is transformational and of course done with so much love and compassion (not to mention fun)....

You are a soulful dancer inside and out my friend....I love my LIFE and I love you!!!!! oh ya I am especially thankful to Crystal for showing me where my hips are he-he-he

Ah you made me smile my friend - - haha
Thanks for the compliment - - - I receive.
My hips are certainly moving in many more interesting ways since Crystal started giving me private coaching :)
I had never thought about the analogy between the figure 8 moves and the infinity sign - - but that is great - maybe that is why I love it so much!

I only recently at age 54 had the freedom to "dance like noone's watching". My partner told me that he had never been able to dance this freely in his life.

I was raised in a religion where dancing was a sin so this was a huge breakthrough for me.

Can you imagine that people actually believe that God would consider dancing a sin? How sad for them.

Thanks for the reminder.
Dr. Sugar,

Thanks for the reminder of what a wonderful way dance is to connect with our Selves and the Universe while getting out of our selves! I had forgotten how important it is to me, that won't happen again.

And dancing is such a great metaphor ;) !

Movement is so important.

I attended a woman's retreat last year and we started the day by moving to music.

It was suggested to start on the floor and move when your body felt the music. To my surprise the first day I couldn't move!

I could see the movements that my body wanted to make and yet when I would follow, there was a great and deep grief that had been sitting on my chest that needed to leave me first. After 5 minutes in, the music lasted for about 20-30 minutes, all I wanted to do was run out of the room we were in, only every movement I made just made me sob harder and harder. I wasn't going anywhere until it was over.

The next day I was terrified that we would have to go through that again. Only this time it was saved for the end of the day after a group process of letting out some deep, powerful energy that lives in us all.

The movement and the dancing that followed was the best I ever experienced. I was flowing as the music changed, no resistance in my body, and the lightness I felt is indescribable.

It is important to allow your body to move the way that it is asking for. You keep the energy going and can step into the flow of life without using your body as armor resisting it.

Needless to say, when I am feeling tight in my body, or a little down and I need a pick me up, I stop what I am doing and turn on the music and move. It feels great.

I haven't done it in awhile. Thanks for the reminder.

Dancing like a fool and so dam happy about it!!!

Hi Dr. Sugar,

What better activity than to dance with your soul! :-D :-x
Total joy, freedom and self-expression - all at once.

Once of the best ways to begin the day! Or, to take a break whenever we are inspired!
