"It shows me all roads, while they may not lead to Rome, lead you right where you ought be. Eventually. And that there is no straight path, or right path, just the one we’re on. However crooked or contorted in may appear, something great will come from it. Whatever your passion or calling." - Ellen ... Dear Ellen, Thank you for sharing ... I learned a great deal from your Blog post ... I have been trying to encourage my son to become someone similar ... His love of cinema is hard to pursue here in Hawaii, but I have been trying to help him see that IF he can do a certain thing (which I can't directly post about), he can do anything else his heart desires regardless of its ability to be monetized or not ... I believe too many people think in linear terms and they would be much better served IF they TRULY do learn to think outside the box or in multiple directions ... The Renaissance Man was not a figment of our imagination ... but rather a model for a TRULY fulfilling life ... We CAN ALL aspire to it ... I believe that the reason I thrive in what I happen to do for a living is because I LOVE staying on top of many things if only in a peripheral and vicarious way ... I LOVE that I learned about robotic surgery and cloud computing long before the popular press even began to talk about it ... I believe that opening ourselves up to this kind of thinking is what makes life sooo exciting and adventuresome ... With profound gratitude, much respect, my love, and many blessings ... Aloha pume hana, Barb
