I just did 5 days of cleansing....PIZZA!!!!!

Posted Jun 8, 2009 12:42 AM
It has been 5 days since Charlie and I started a cleanse....

It's a simple one called the master-cleanse... (you can google it).

All we drank (and ate) for the past 5 days has been water mixed with lemons, one tea-spoon of maple syrup, and one tea-spoon of
cayenne pepper...

My motivation was not loosing weight but giving my body a chance to do some healing & resting...

Oh girl! What will-power it has taken....:_|

It has now been 5 full days and at around 10 p.m. on Sunday, all I want to do is eat an entire crispy thin crust pizza by myself!

It's crazy how creative I've been with making up new receipes in the past few days... I mean, left, right, and sideways, my mind has been creating new and I must say pretty innovative receipies!

One thing is for sure though, I am pretty pleased with the journey over the past 5 days...Because I did for the right reasons, I feel I was able to stay more consistent than in the past....

And, I have promised myself that I"ll eat food more joyously from now on.... I mean, I want to celebrate every bite! (we'll see how long that lasts B-) )...

Here is to good food,

Ellie

Dear Ellie,

I have heard others brag about "surviving" the Master Cleanse. It is good that you and Charlie supported each other through this. Now you can start to thrive again!

Dr. Sugar's cellular memory cleanse this past weekend also had a profound effect on a number of BraveHeart Women. We too are ready to thrive!

ONWARD BraveHeart Women!...and Charlie. ;)

With unconditional love, compassion and empowerment,

The lemons are all icky in my frig....I never gotten started....I did a good job getting ready:^O.I have great maple syrup from Door County....where I am .....I heard its better to use the syrup from your area?....and I love cayenne....so I always have that.....but that is as far as I got?:|....nuts!:_|......I know how it will energize me...

I wanted to see what I would learn too..but I guess I just havent made the commitment....I keep putting it off for another day.....which tells me something.....

I have starved myself for long periods when I was anorexic but I have never been able to do a cleanse....huh? strange....

I applaud your commitment....fantastic!!

Ellie,
Wow! X-( I know that you are Charlie are determined to be healthy and a cleanse is a good way to clean out the "garbage" we accumulate in our cells... but, that sounds terrible... I'll bet you're starving.

I am also getting ready to do one with nothing but fruits and vegetables for 10 days.. Then, on the 11th day I can start adding one protein (meat) a day, which is going to be a stretch simply, because I am Type "O" blood on the "Eat Right for Your Type". That means I am like a "cave man" carnivor where we have to have meat...

So, yes, that will be a stretch, but I am proud of you. When, you finish eat the wonderful pizza and devour it gladly, joyfully, and you will have instant satisfaction ;)

Blessings,
Rose Kirkland

Dear Ellie,

Cleansing, no doubt, is a great way to give your body a chance to clean out all the nasty stuff that we get bombarded with on a daily basis and to give your body a chance to rest and heal.

I’m familiar with the Master cleanse and commend you for starving yourself for 5 days! I don’t think I’d be able to do nor do I want to!

The issue I’ve seen with these types of cleanses where you’re not giving your body good nutrition during the process, is that you’re body, over time, will think it’s starving. If you’re body thinks it’s starving, it will get into the “all I can think about is a pizza” mode and that’s where the rebound comes in…I’m not talking about weight alone but it will get you into thinking about pizzas and other wonderful recipes that cause us to cleanse in the first place! It’s a merry-go-round nightmare…

The other side of the coin is nutritional cleansing. If you’re simultaneously cleansing and replenishing with good nutrition doing a deeper cleanse 1-2 days per week, then your body will begin to rid itself of impurities and toxins and won’t think it’s starving. You’ll also benefit by losing cravings that caused you to consider cleansing in the first place plus you can do a 1 or 2 day cleanse in a month that will keep the body purring.

If you want more info on this, I’ll be happy to provide! In the meantime, happy Pizza!

With Love,

Kathy
I do this same Master Cleanse once a year with my daughter (so we have someone to suffer with) and it was never easy!

Throughout the cleanse I would keep thinking about the fantastic vegetable stew my daughter would make when we're done, and that seemed to give me something to look forward to. I know, you'd think I'd be thinking about how much more I'd be healthy after it but, no, I chose to think of vegetable stew!

So, keep thinking about your pizza! It's that light at the end of the tunnel!
Congratulations Ellie! :-D

But Wow Ellie, one whole teaspoon of cayenne? Hot stuff.
Five days must have tested even your endurance and discipline! Way to go! ! !

I have tried that recipe for just a day at a time. Loved it. Don't know if I could manage 5 days. Please be careful how you come off of your 'fast'.

Looking forward to your next report.

We are so proud of You!!! Is Charlie still smiling and saying "It's all good!"???
You have done a 5 day Master Cleanse while we have spent the weekend doing a 3 day Cellular Memory Cleanse. We hope your cleanse was as amazing as ours was. So many BraveHeart Women completely transformed at Dr. Sugar's Retreat!
