The Privilage of being a Grandmother

Posted Aug 14, 2009 04:47 PM
What happened to the summer? Holiday picnics, swimming, trips to the amusement park, reading books, relaxing with family and friends. What fun and what opportunities to spend special time with your Grandchildren. And now comes the anticipation of a new school term. Which can mean shopping for school clothes and having lunch with teenage Granddaughters....making a day of it. Talking about goals for the new year, helping new students learn a new drill in band camp, striving to be the best person you can be...to be a shining example. To love yourself.

Audie,

Thanks for responding to my post.

You and Dave are wonderful parents, who set great examples.

I know you will be fantastic grandparents.

Peace and Grace,

Diana,

Thank you for your response.

I agree with you regarding setting a good example for our children and now our grandchildren. Being a grandparent is awesome and I believe a responsibility to help teach them, that they can do anything they desire if they have a passion and stay on track.

Peace and Grace,

I love being a grandmother. My four grandsons spent the entire month of July with me. It was exhausting but so much fun. And . . . I'm taking my teenaged grandson shopping for school clothes today. We're taking him and his mother and making a day of it--to include a back-to-school celebration dinner. Two of my grandsons live in New York, so I only get to see them a few times a year. I sure do miss them when they're gone.

As a grandmother, I make all my decisions with my eyes firmly focused on the seventh generation. My grandsons are watching what I do. I need to be a good example. I know that the decisions I make will impact not only my grandsons but their children and their children's children, and so forth.

Being a mother and now a grandmother have been the greatest privileges of my life.

Peace and blessings.

Hi Ellie,

I am still eagerly awaiting the privilege of being a grandmother.

You are a shining example for me when my turn comes to experience the joy.

Ellie~

Teaching children to have a good self esteem, self value and teaching them that they can accomplish what they set their minds to is a great start!

I consistently do this with my gilrs! And it does make a huge difference!
