Speak Your Voice and de-wrinkle your spirit!

Thank you Dr Kim for this video. It was very encouraging to see the reminder from you and Lois that we tend to take for granted and/or entirely ignore the wonderful, rich resource of experience our elders have to share, if we choose to ask then LISTEN to what they have to contribute. My Grandma Mildred was my best friend. I was so fortunate to have her to ask for advice for over forty years of my life! She has since passed away, and I miss her every day, but I am still bolstered by the practical advice she shared with me. I would like to thank Lois for informing us about what she has learned about the current nursing research on the role of vitamin D.It is interesting that the amount we humans need may be much higher than originally thought. I will be watching for the final results of that study. In the meantime, it was a great reminder for me to take MY vitamin D supplement today. And on a synchronous note, my grandma was a FIRM believer in taking quality vitamin supplements regularly. She would be very pleased that Lois is still making folks aware of the most current research. Loved your video. A little vote of confidence for Louise and other elderly people. I am 37 years old and continue to have such a deep respect for my elders. I have loved listening to their stories since I was little girl and continue to do so. The elderly are like a little piece of history, wisdom, and experience right at our finger tips. I've never understood the ignorance of our culture when it comes to our treatment and view of the elderly and I am grateful to see things as I do. One thing I never really thought about is how they might feel voiceless and afraid to ask questions. I suppose it is a very scary and timid time in your life. I will be more alert to this in my future dealings with the elderly. Hi Dr. Kim, I am new to this community, but loved hearing Lois' story, but at the same time, am very saddened that the elderly are taken for granted. Over the years, I would visit with my dad after talking him into moving closer to me, where I am lucky to live on the Central Coast of California. My dad was the most intelligent man I have ever met. He was a biomedical engineer working with physicians and knew their language (Dr. talk) quite well. However, over the years, I noticed that my dad was slowing down mentally, and I would take him to his doctor's appointments, where I was the one communicating with the doctors as my dad watched silently. I was a medical transcriptionist for many years, and felt very comfortable communiating with my dad's doctors. When he was hospitalized in 2004 for a nasty fall, the nurses were indifferent to him, ignoring him, and in fact, I didn't receive the call from the hospital until my dad was there for 2 days. I was astounded that it took that long to call me, meanwhile, my dad felt all alone and scared. I called the nurse to help get my dad dressed and ready to be discharged, but again, no one came. It seemed as if he didn't count, which greatly upset me, but I didn't know who to complain to, or if it would even make a difference. I feel very passionate about helping the elderly get a voice in our community, but don't know where to turn. I would love to do it in the name of my father, Andy, and get the word out there that our children have so much to learn from their grandparents, as well as others like them to gain knowledge and learn from their experiences in life. Simply love your video! Kim - thank you for sharing your years of expertise, experience and common-sense approach to taking the natural way to expressing our TRUE beauty! It really is from the inside out... and, as you must know, it's rare to find a physician who is willing to share time and energy in an approach that challenges the medical establishment, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. Thank you for being an advocate in a way that can make a significant difference on so many levels!!! ;+) Lynn Scheurell www.mycreativecatalyst.com Ageism is so unfair and disrespectful. I'm glad Lois was able to share her information. I am grateful for her knowledge of cutting edge research. Best, Whitney Eskew WOW Great Video ! ........ Thanks Dr. Kim Lisa Hello Dr. Kim, What a wonderful idea to offer a platform where our elderly can be heard. I so appreciated the care and compassion you demonstrated to Lois! And Lois did a fabulous job of expressing herself because of your encouragement! Cheers to manifesting more Joy, Inner Beauty and expressions of our voice! Love, Lynette Ritual Divas Community Loved hearing Lois's voice and feeling her energy. Dr. Oz also talks about how a large percentage of the population tests low on vitamin D levels. Thanks for giving voice to it on BHW. ♥Caren4u Hi Dr. Kim, This is great information for all. The time is now for every voice to be heard and value, because we learn from each other. Even a babe can relate something important to us. Yes we are lacking so many important vitamins, and having the older wisdom to inform the younger wisdom can prevent many problems for the best of humanity. Vitamins that's needed, Hi Dr Kim, What a valuable resource we all have in our "older" generation! We can ALL learn from their wisdom and longetivity....all we have to do is take time to listen. Vitamin D....the sunshine vitamin! Go out and get some sunshine....and check out your vitamin B12. Great advice! In Gratitude.... Linda Kay Holden New Beginnings Community
