We are all God's children...

Good morning!
I wrote a little poem about my encounter with a homeless man as I was stopping for coffee one morning...:8}

I remember one morning, all bright and sunny
Being approached by a man who was asking for money.
"Instead," I replied, "come here with me;
I'll buy you some coffee, some orange juice, or tea."

He eagerly followed me into the shop.
Looking disheveled with hair like a mop.
His clothes were all ragged and dirty at best,
I ordered his coffee; he sat down to rest.

As I awaited the order, I asked the old guy,
"Are you hungry, dear sir? Can I get you some pie?"
He rose and approached me with "thanks" in his eyes,
And ordered a sandwich instead; he was wise.

He went to the counter to wait for his food
While the manager approached me, all stuffy and rude.
"Did this homeless guy bother you? Was he a pest?"
I answered quite calmly, "No, mam, he's my guest."

I left there quite happy with what I had done.
And wondered just where his next meal would come from.
'Cause people judge others they don't understand
But we are God's children; be kind to all man.:-x

HAVE A WONDER-FILLED DAY!
Love,
Kathy

Than you, ladies, for your comments.:)

My dream is for everyone to look at one another and only see beauty and love....no matter what age, race, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic class, color, gender, etc.. In order for that to happen, we must learn to love ourselves....and know we are God's children....

Many blessings,:-x

Kathy, You made my heart sing as I read your poem about the homeless man! How I wish more of us would be more compassionate toward those less fortunate. It is probably a toss-up as to which you or the homeless man received the biggest blessing .
Good Job.

Dear Kathy,

Thank you for sharing ... :-x ...

Wonder-filled! ... :-D ...

We are indeed ALL God's children ... and offering others a "hand up" in times of need is what is expected of ALL of us ...

I saw a piece on "60 Minutes" last evening about a temporary "aid station" that is set up annually over a weekend I believe in San Diego to aid the homeless vets ... It was a superb piece ... Truly inspiring! ... :-x ... (I always try to multi-task, so I didn't get all of the details and I thought I was recording it, but to my dismay, when I went to check, I had the wrong date ... I had the 18th, instead of the 17th ... and I DO know there is a message there ... Hmmm ...)

With much respect, gratitude, love, and many blessings ... :-x ...

Aloha pume hana,

Barb
