My life as a Premenopausal Woman

I have been experiencing night sweats and a feeling of wanting to get naked (just kidding) for a few years now. When I talked to my doctor about it she said that I was probably in pre-menopause. I told her I was too young to be in pre-menopause; after all I was only 38. She laughed and said oh honey you could be in pre-menopause for years before going into actual full blown menopause. I confess I'm nervous about the whole thing. but I guess it is a part of being a woman. My thought about all of this is to sit back and just go with it.
I found out that many women begin experiencing symptoms of pre-menopause several years before menopause occurs. The age when the signs of pre-menopause occur varies among women. Some women experience the symptoms of pre-menopause in their early thirties, while other women may notice menopausal signs in their forties, and still other women never experience any changes during menopause.
I am contently asking everyone is it hot in here or is it just me, most of the time it is just me. The worst part has been weight gain, foggy thinking and memory loss. Sometimes I feel that I just can’t focus. I believe that if you do your best to maintain your physical, mental and emotional balance through the mid-cycle of your life, aging will be more graceful and less painful. We should all make good choices regarding health, nutrition, lifestyle and wellness. I am on a self journey to better my life, and part of this journey includes losing weight and educating Woman on health and wellness. We should all follow are passion, dreams do come true.

Hi Kimberley, well, I think by the time you try these suggestions, your hot flashes will certainly be reduced.
I am a natural health coach/practitioner of herbalism, Iridology, and yes the tofu may help and I would like to suggest there are also other herbs.

Garden Sage is a great herb to reduce night sweats. Also the adrenals are usually stressed and this is one reason we get night sweats. I am 46, and I use to get them once in awhile, especially if I stressed out.

Chaste Tree, Dong Quai, Black Cohosh and even the weed Chickweed is very cooling for the body.
These herbs also supply added nutrients.

I started perimenopause at about age 40, or earlier.
Stuff like scant, or missed periods, followed by heavy and sooner periods. I never heard of perimenopause until then.
I didn't start hot flashes until much later, about 50.
I never expected the process to last so long.
I havent had a period for years now, but I still get minor versions of hot flashes occasionally. I'm now 58 years young.

I remember an episode of "All In The Family" where Archie demanded of Edith......" OK Edith...CHANGE!"

I would have preferred it that way!

I am in the medical profession, I came across a patient who gave me this information and she lives by it. Put Tofu and slim fast in a blender and drink it everyday....she stated as long as she does this she does not have hot flashes, and does not need any form of medication.
Just a little FYI for you ladies.

Hi there....I was perimenopausal @ 40 and I am through menopause now...totally through.....which has its own period of transition and feelings and stuff...but its all good......anway, when I was going through it I used a natural progesterone cream that helped me IMMENSELY....I wonder if that was recommended at all or if you could ask about it. Also, Oprah did a whole series on this that was very interesting.....it could still be going on...I've been too busy with work to watch her show lately....but I am sure you can find alot of things on oprah.com about it.....It was great...
