Dear friends,
I have learned that even when things seem impossible -there is a way through.
There is a power outside of us who is there to help if we turn and ask. The POWER TO ASK is a mighty thing.
I 've found, while we should grow in understanding that individually we have inner strength we have to admitt that there are things even greater that challenge us.
Like David, the Psalmist said " I look up to the mountians where my strength comes from". Though he was a couragous man he knew there were times he had to look outside himself for strength.
When I was 6 years old we had returned to America from Australia and I was entering school. My teachers kept moving me closer and closer to the black board to help me see. My parents took me to the optician and found that I had a rare condition of congenital cataracts.
There were no options to operate as there is now..
They were growing and I would be blind before I was an adult.
So we began to ask..Asking Father in heaven for help. Every day we thanked Him at dinner for answering. For two years we did this.One day a pastor came to speak in a meeting and we asked him to pray for me. I didn't think anything had happened. But when I went back to the doctor he found that the cataracts had shrunk to nothing. A small fleck like scar was all that remained.
I was so excited and my little friends at school were amazed. No more thick glasses.
Many years later when I was working in a restuarant a young woman came in with some friends. She recognized my unusual name. She was so excited. She turned to her friends and said, "This is the girl I told you about!" She had remembered my experience all those years.
There are things that are too big for us.
Can we dare to ask? Are we trying to be the answer to everything? Look up and ask for help. Perhaps you can not ask for unseen help. But we can start by asking others for help. You'll be amazed what will open up.
It may not be a physical need but something you find
you can not solve. Keep asking..the answer will come.
