Broken, but not hopeless

Posted Jun 1, 2009 05:20 PM
Hi...

I would love to start this out with great news, but I am sitting here in my living-room with a fractured arm. This happened on Wednesday, last week after a fall at work. I am hopeful that I will heal so I can continue my life. It's hard typing with one hand!!

I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning to find out if I have to have surgery to put my bone back together. Not looking forward to that!

Keeping a smile on my face....

Blessings.....

Nuts! I broke my leg quite a few years ago...and whoa....it did shock me and my life.....I was managing a very busy restaurant at the time and so it was a challenge:_|.....

they did want to do surgery....but I got a few more opinions....because the first doctor was not forthgiving of any information to explain why and so on....I just had a bad feeling?:|....and I didnt trust him.....he actually tried to tell me that it wasnt broken initially and I made him x-ray it to find out that yes, in fact, it was....

anyway....I got 2 other opinions both telling me that while it wouldnt heal perfectly....correctly....I would most likely never really know it....it wouldnt effect my walking or my life....it just wouldnt be perfect....I ended up not getting the surgery and now I forget which leg it was that was broken.....I would have to find that boot thingie that I had to wear to remember which one:O.....

this is not to say what you should do.....but I felt like he would be mad at me for getting another opinion...(how goofy is that)...but back then I was ready to do what he said even though i had the bad feelings because of how I assumed it would make him feel.....I can almost laugh now

and realize how much I have grown

I hope you are healed really quickly so you can move on to bigger and better things:-D Much Love:-x

Hi Linda,

Having an unexpected "happening" such as a fractured arm... or any break...can surely stop us in our tracks. :_|
Surround yourself with positive energy....keep the smile on your face....it will greatly assist the healing process.
Use this time for reflection and be in gratitude for all the good things in life.

Wishing you a very speedy recovery...:-x

Hi Linda,

Sorry to hear about your arm. I actually BROKE my elbow while jogging many year ago before I was married. I can't believe I didn't take any time off from my job -- kept on typing -- probably made it heal faster!!! Anyway, hoping you have a good report from your doctor tomorrow. Interesting how our lives can change in an instant!!

Sue:-x
