My Cookies Ran Together!

Posted Oct 8, 2009 04:02 PM
I have a looooooooooong time friend ( we were young and dangerous together ]:) ) with whom I share the euphemism:

"My cookies ran together !"

During a bake-fest, decades ago, this term was born to convey that life was getting....challenging

So imagine your cookie sheet coming out of the oven as one, over-sized, misshapen blob, instead of the tasty, manageable , sweet delights you were striving to create and enjoy.
Get the picture?

Lately, my cookies have run together.... allot!

I am on the cusp of turning sixty - much to my amazement! :OThis pending celebration of my natal day holds more than the usual element of reflection that all birthdays hold, because... well...the number is just...LARGE.

I have succeeded in reaching a goal of physical health that has remained out of reach for years. However...

B'Dand...

Still...

Behaviorally, my cookies a still running together! They are even sometimes burning!

Earlier in this week, I found myself staring in dismay at a cookie sheet full of charcoal, and thinking "Will you ever learn Linda?" I feel that at sixty, I should be able to temper my words, to swallow first, and speak in kindness and understanding... and I have disappointed myself in that regard, and in the process really hurt people I love. It is something that I can not undo...

When dealing with others, I really have become pretty darn good at being able to "honor the place they are on their path" in the knowing that we each are on a journey that contains bumps and turns and sometimes crashes. That is what provides our roadmap to greatness. That is what makes us compassionate. That is what makes us humble and valuable as spirits moving about in human form.

In filming the BraveHeart Women Infomercial, I had the privilege of offering: "It is so much easier to love others and to allow others to love us, when we love ourselves"

Mother Theresa, who embodies a divine standard I so admire, counsels:
"People will disappoint you - love them anyway"

In the past 48 hours, I have been charged with the task of turning those life lessons inward.
It has been an opportunity to grow about ten feet...

I know that you will read this, and I know that you will know who you are...

I love you, and I am sorry...

I can... and will do better. I am capable of beautiful cookies, and I want to share them with you...

Linda,

As Michael Blomsterberg and Byron Katie say, It is What It Is!B-)

Who are we to judge, it just gets in our way.....the sooner we get about "Singing Our Song" the better off we are for sure!

Linda,

I'll tell you what my daughter-in-law's mother told her -- "find a younger man." My Grandmother did it, my Aunt did it, my cousin did it and my daugher-in-law did it. This is my son and daughter-in-law's 3rd wedding anniversary today and their twin's are 18 months old today.

I don't like to think about cookies all run together. It is something I will remember though. I like to think that the next time I make cookies they will be beautiful!

Linda, you are beautiful and with your energy know that you will find someone special. Picture that man and wait for it to happen. He could come in a little different package, but he will be wonderful.

Love you,
Ruth
I love you Becky
Thank You.
Oh my Sister Linda

You know you are a wonderful "BRAVEHEART". At some time each of us have our "cookies run together". Remember to that "no one can play you, as good as you":-x

No true braveheart woman can hold judgement on you....you are where you are. Of course as your friend I only see you as a fabulous woman, an encouragement to myself and many others. You are aging gracefully....I hope to be as inspiring to others as you are. Besides you are not "old", 60 is a number on the calendar, not the age of our spirit, and your spirit is soooooo big!!!

FYI, my cookies have run together, burnt and fed to the dogs!!!]:)

Love you always, unconditionally

It was my pleasure to connect with you!
You know... I am single, and have decided to begin dating again. I am having a fair amount of challenge finding anyone who is even close to my age who is not preparing to wind down!

In so many ways, I feel as though I am just hitting my stride, and Winding Up!

Call me Cougar - I want someone who not only has a pulse - they must be pulsing to hold my attention!
:O
Linda- just turned the big six oh myself in May. Yep it sure sounds old. Almost time for that social security check, Almost time to be turned out to pasture . Almost time to close the books and mosey on over the hill.

Yeah , but I say NO SALE. I just choose not to buy into all that. I have time for a full 20 year career in front of me. And more tools, money, and support for that career than I ever did when I was younger.

With all the wisdom that experience has brought me, all the pieces of paper I've gathered over the years that say I'm smart, all the coping skill I've mastered - sister - my cookies still run together!

Seems that no matter how old we become , we just never out grow being human. I pray your friend forgives you. I pray you forgive yourself.

You are such an amazing person and I rejoice in meeting you at RISE. Much work lies ahead of us both with this BraveHeart mission, May we all bake cookies of perfection and creative flow together
