What We Don't Say

Hi Linda,
Thank you for sharing this wonderful post with us. When I was growing up, I was always told, "Keep your words sweet; you may have to eat them." Over the years, I have had to eat quite a few of my own words. My takeaway lesson--think before you speak. Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "Be silly. Be honest. Be kind." As a writer, I know there is a way to be silly, even witty, and yet kind. I also know there is a way to be honest and yet be kind. I have been wounded by hurtful words, so I know the importance of kindness. Words are powerful tools--sharper than any two-edged sword. We can use them to cut, or we can use them to heal. I choose to use them to heal. Thank you for this timely reminder. Peace, blessings, and much love to you. Diana Phoenix Rising Writers' Corner Dear Linda, This is a really long quote but couldn't see a way to cut it down...very profound. Michael Beckwith says in "Spiritual Liberation" about the Authentic Self, "...When you realize that you are on the planet as a co-creative agent to fully express your unique identity, you are claiming that you are a distribution center for delivering what is happening throughout the cosmos: love, beauty, compassion, joy, creativity, harmony, peace. Challenges arise, but you relate to them in their proper context--as rich material to work with. As you begin to love and appreciate yourself, you realize that all beings are an emanation of First Cause, and so it becomes natural to express compassion and forgiveness and pray for everyone to experience the glory of their existence." "You begin to realize that how you see the world and what you experience are projections from your own consciousness. Equipped with this insight, you quit demanding that circumstances and people change, and instead you take self-responsibility and work within yourself for a transformation in consciousness." This puts my ego in its place!! With a Song in My Heart, Kathy One Voice Yes Linda, You speak wise words. The best way to lead is by an example, as not to do "do as I say not as I do"! Actions speak louder than words! The ones who do and say things to hurt are living in the shadows of wisdom, it may be our duty to shine the light and show them the path out of the shadows, but it's only up to them to follow that path, for it's up tp them to chose their destiny...
