The Fine ART of Blooming Where You're Planted !

Posted Mar 29, 2009 06:49 PM
In times such as these, with all of the economic uncertainty, and upset plans for the future, it is more important than ever to become masters at "blooming where we are planted".
Our obstacles always, without fail, hold opportunity.
I would love to see your comments on how you have seized an opportunity born of an obstacle.

Aloha Deborah,
What a timely reminder! Creating new experiences is such wonderful therapy! I am reminded of Ellie's New Year's experience a couple of years ago, when her primary thought at the dawn of the new year was "Surrender". Perhaps because my family is loaded with WW2 heroes, who I hold in the highest possible esteem, the word "surrender" used to be surrounded by static. I am only now beginning to understand that surrender is key to our freedom, and that being in conflict with your circumstances will keep you stuck in that place.
...always learning!
Love you,
Linda

Aloha Monica,
I love haring about totally unforeseen opportunity that is yours as a result of what was initially perceived as a set-back! How exciting is that! There truly are NO accidents - just head-scratching moments! ;\

I just came off a contract position that was cut short. It was just as well because I was already looking for something else to do as the position did not remotely resemble the proposal I had put forward.

So in the meantime I have launched my "On Page Productions", helping businesses get their message on the page. As well, I am being interviewed for an Executive Director position for a not-for-profit organization.

Five months ago, when I began my contract, neither of these projects were even a whisper or thought in my mind.

I recognize now that my contract position was a learning ground for me, and a safe place to land until these other opportunities came along. So, where once I wondered "what the heck was that all about!?", now I realize it was a blessing in disguise.

Linda, I'm am continuously learning that my obstacles are only new experiences. I remember once Ellie Drake quoted: In order to become a more aware and conscious human being, one must always choose new experiences. To create new experiences, and to meet them in the most perfect way , one must look deeply within oneself.

This I have learned will create more opportunities for me.
