An Update on Alane's Surgery

I have received this email from Alane's closest friend:

It is now 4:45 pm EST, and Alane should be up in ICU. I spoke with her husband at 3:30 and the surgeons were finishing up. Her graft did prove to be infected in a few places so they replaced the whole thing with a human donated vessel. The surgeon felt that the surgery went well. She did have to have a blood transfusion and she is on a ventilator but that isn't uncommon after a big surgery.

I will continue to update you as she progresses.
