3 Tips To Relieve Depression and Anxiety

Today I’d like to talk about a weed of misinformation we may have in our garden we often think the medication we can take to relieve our depression or anxiety are the things that are going to work and our only solution that we have.

I believe this is a serious weed of misinformation that we need to examine carefully.

#1) Antidepressants and anxiety pills are not the answer

I’m bringing this up because a girlfriend of mine contacted me at her wits end. She’s tried almost every medication in the book for her serious depression that bounces also with anxiety. They will work for a little while, but none of them have worked for the long-term. There just doesn’t seem to be a medication that works for her.

All these medications are dealing with the brain. When in actual fact we have a second brain.

I know this may sound funny, but where you can find this brain is in your gut. There’s a direct correlation between the gut and the brain. They’ve found depression, anxiety, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s, dementia, and a lot of other problems stem from the health of your gut.

#2) Add Fresh Herbs in Your Diet

That’s where we need to do whatever we can to address our diet. This in turn will support the health of our gut, proper elimination and that will have an effect upon our mood, well being and our ability to live life to the fullest.

This is an opportunity for you to check what you have in your outdoor, balcony, or indoor garden. I plant a variety of herbs. Even a tiny amount of fresh herbs can be so powerful for our health. Tyme, oregano, basil, parsley, chives, rosemary, horsetail, etc. the list goes on. There are so many herbs and they do wonders for our health.

I’m sure everyone is familiar with garlic. Why not look at some of these fresh gardening possibilities, Why not see what you can do to start creating a healthy gut today.

#3) Supplement with Probiotics

Why not start populating the good bacteria in your gut with probiotics. These healthy bacteria get killed when you take antibiotics and many medications.

A good probiotic may be purchased online, or at any health food stores. Eat them for a few months to repopulate all the good guys, especially if you’ve taken antibiotics.

You’ll be surprised at how much energy you’ll have and how much your mood will improve. I urge you to take a look at what you have in your garden today and follow these simple tips.

Kat I applaud your chosen course and know how much courage it takes. I also know how rewarding it is when we listen to the wisdom of our body!

Go girl and never stop progressing on this path toward optimal health and longevity!

Love Alison
Thank you Alison :) I really appreciate the support in my decision to choose a cure rather than the band-aid "solution." you bring up a very good point about pain killers and when choosing not to have them you have a much more acute awareness of what is going on inside your body (or your energy field...) and can be sure to respond in a way that avoids stressing or damaging the area of pain. My father is a chiropractor and I learned early on that most headaches are rooted in neck tension or dehydration. I noticed then that avoiding pain killers allowed me to rid myself of a headache (that in all honesty I gave to myself in resisting my own nourishment) in a way that was healthy and created lasting results. It also allowed me the awareness to absorb the reminder to nurture myself and I was more likely to avoid the future situation. Headaches, after-surgery, or whatever. Choosing to harness your own energy and awareness is the best way to heal your body, mind and soul in my books!

Dear Kat :-x

I love the way you gathered up the reins of your life and chose to gallop towards optimal health rather bowing to the pressures of a medical establishment so heavily influenced by big pharma.

Your choice was brilliant. ✮✮✮✮✮ Tapping in to the infinite wisdom of nature spells out success in long term vibrant health! Health that deals with a CURE not masking symptoms and causing side effects that require more medications.

For sure it can be tough, yet there is no need to fear discomfort as it leads us to bursting health. I remember refusing pain killers as I rebuilt my leg following a serious accident. It enabled me to know exactly how far I could push myself without causing damage. The addition of superfoods versus drugs made it possible to create miracles of healing with my leg and in many unexpected areas of my life.

I take my hat off to you! Great attitude!!!
Love Alison
Thank you for this article. In response to #1, I had the opportunity earlier this year to choose wither the path of medication for anxiety/ depression (result of an accident) or to maintain balance through nutrition, supplementation, and continuation of my exercise regime.
It was a hard description to make at the time because of the pressure from those treating me at the time, and the out of body consciousness I had from the pain I was in. However, I chose not to numb myself from that which I needed to solve in my life. It was also pointed out to me that I would not be able to have clarity when numbing myself with these medications and my creativity would suffer. (gasp!)
The biggest breakthroughs in our lives seem to come out of a dark time, a void if you will. Th trick is to allow yourself to be in that space long enough to access the breakthrough and regain clarity.

Hi Karin,

You are offering valuable information with your personal story of success.

Statin drugs that are prescribed for high blood pressure often have several very serious side effects. As you pointed out, nature contains everything we need to stay healthy in every aspect of our lives.

Optimal health and longevity is possible when we learn to have a dialogue with our body as you did.

Much love and continued success to you,
Alison
Yes Yes Yes ... more natural healing please ... I am in total agreement that we need to seek the wisdom of age old wisdom ... the wisdom within ...

And this is EXACTLY why I had been searching for 8 years ... I went against everything I had ever been told and taught ... I even told my doctor that I was no longer going to take prescriptions drugs ... ever again! ... and with that I gave up prescription drugs that plastered a bandaid over my hypertension ... only covering up the problem ... never resolving and healing it .... searching and sifting thru all information ... asking my body what it was needing ... that's how I ended up being on Laminine & Protandim ... they are both natural ... one is a botanical ... the other is derived from egg whites, plant and marine protein ... and do they ever deliver! We are talking everything across the board and including bi-polar, depression, anxiety ... those symptoms just dissipate! Decades of science (which is what I like :-p ) that stimulate this left brain of mine ... and then asking the body "is it in my highest good to take this?" ... and the rest is history ... I've never felt better and my blood pressure is normal! How does it get even better than this?

This is how I do it ... place hands over your gut ... balance your body over your feet ... keep knees soft ... ask your body to show you the answer "yes" .... and ask it for a "no" .... ask your body "yes & no" questions ... your spirit is always seeking that which is in your highest good ... and always knows.

in gratitude ~
Karin Becker
