Thank you to everyone for your wonderful comments and encouragements! It is such a blessing to find a place where women are so bonded in spirit! For the first time I am able to be part of a cmmunity where women are supportive instead of competitive. I love it! You are all wonderful, courageous women and I am proud to be part of this with you. Jennifer Duncan Hello, I am so with you sister. It is coming close to September. Time to learn, time for change - here's to creating value to take time for ourselves, because without us our world certainly doesn't exist. So it is critical to be the role model we need to by taking step-by-step actions to be who we say we want to be. Dear Jennifer, I hope you find solace in knowing that we all struggle when life gets in the way of living. Something that has been helping me stay in the present moment came from the book "A Thousand Names for Joy" by Byron Katie. She talks about the importance of disconnecting from your story to stay focused in the here and now. For example, when I get stressed, I have to stop thinking about the two businesses I am working to start, my kids and all their activities, grocery shopping, cooking dinner, financial stress. I focus on what is present right now. I have a house to live in, I have a car to take me to the store, I have money to buy groceries, I am grateful for the sunshine. Being grateful for all the things in the present moment helps me to keep living my life in the midst of busy-ness. I hope this little strategy can help you too. Blessings on your family. Jan Dear Jennifer, How refreshing! I'm very proud to see how you have grown from the inside out and taken positive strides to ensure your own happiness. Your circumstances are tough but your enlightenment will make your journey so worth the effort. "So it is now that I am reclaiming my joy!" And quite right too! All the best, Chineme Dear Jennifer, Joy in the mundane tasks is what I also find most difficult. However, they are essential tasks and can be done with good thoughts and prayers for the person for whom we are performing the task. Remember to celebrate the daily joys, count your blessings, give freely, and love yourself. Take some time each day for you, so that you can have the energy to give back, rather than giving out.
