2010 Day 15: Fears/Building Blocks

Posted Jan 14, 2010 09:27 AM
Here is a new way to look at fears. Use your fear as a building block to move forward.

How? To begin with we want to look at the reality of the fear. Usually when we break down the fear we find it is unfounded. When we step back and examine what the fear is about then we can look at ways to create the building blocks t remove the fear. It is like taking small steps forward to overcome the fear.

I used to have an “airport phobia”. I had a fear of not knowing how to get around in those big city airports, (I am working in small steps on this) along with how to get to the hotels and back again. Being from a small town, going to the city can cause a good bit of fear and anxiety. Slowly though I have been using the building block theory to overcome this perceived Evil!

By looking at reality, the fear has no basis. Using the building blocks I know there are signs everywhere in the airports to guide and direct everyone. When I stop, look, breath and relax I can go on my way. Besides, there are lots of people in the airport who can direct and assist us. Each time I travel I use my past experiences to build on and gain more confidence. I may not be totally comfortable however I am not as fearful…for I am Brave and I listen to the voice of reason.

Take a deep breath and build on your fear until you take control. Most times you will find there was nothing to fear once you broke it down in reality. Unless you are actually in physical danger fear is basically in our imagination.

Becky,
Here we are again with something in common, my Sister! Yes, those False Evidence Appearing Real things(I think I read that somewhere as representing fear). I am proud of you for these building blocks that are obviously taking you to new heights of FREEDOM and SELF. I would have never guessed that so it is interesting the inner work you are doing because it is showing on the outside. Keep up the momentum, and look at you go...day 15 of blogs!

You've come so far with such courage that I actually FORGOT about your fear of traveling!

You used to talk about it as if it was part of the event.....now I only hear you talk a bout where you are going and what you are doing... and how much you are looking forward to something:-D

Congratulations...look at the opportunities that have come your way as a result

Love you sweetie :-x,

ALOHA Rebecca,
You are so right. Most times the fear is in our mind. We scare ourselves with scary stories that will probably never happen. "There is nothing to fear, but fear itself." Roosevelt blessings, Radha
One of my worst fears Rebecca is public speaking. I always do a lot of coughing...(remember Ellie).:O Hopefully, I have overcome that with public writing. :-D
