What I am grateful for Today

Posted Jul 19, 2010 03:06 PM
As I went for my morning run I was thinking about what I was grateful for this day. I actually found some new things to be grateful for having. I am grateful for my dog "Frankie" who is always eager to go...he nips at my heels as we start out...which is good, means he is feeling well and ready, makes me laugh!

As I ran I was grateful for the fresh country air, the cloud cover this morning made it a little cooler which was good since I had a later start. While Frankie runs ahead a little I am grateful he clears the way of any "animal encounters" like skunks, or porcupines.Grateful to remember to keep my mouth shut as I pass the lake so as not to inhale a bug, and that once I pass the hay stack it is only about 400 more steps to the end!!

While I had just thrown on my tennis shoes this morning and not taken time to grab socks, I am now grateful for my socks. I rubbed a blister on each of my heels, yet now I am grateful for them also. You see they brought me to recognize or remember that while things in life can be painful they also allow us to grow. As I was running and feeling the blisters beginning I pushed through the pain knowing that anything worth having means working for it, persistence, getting out of my comfort zone, consistency, and with this all comes the feeling of accomplishment.

Those times when it is a challenge to pick up the phone for a business call, to write a blog, or create a video, whatever you face if you will be grateful for what it will bring you in the end is WHY you do it. I run because I desire to be in better shape, to loose a few pounds and for the feeling of accomplishment I get from running.

Enjoy your day and be grateful for all the things that come your way.

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
I have read in The Secret that one should choose to say Thank You seven times in the morning to acknowledge what they are grateful for. Puts things in perspective for all of us as I tend to take many things for granted as I go about my day. Thank you!...for the reminder of this wondrous world that we create our story in everyday.
I miss you Becky and looking so forward to seeing you at RISE!!! You are so growing, I can tell by your writing that a wonderful shift has, and is taking place.
Love your BH Sister,
Darlene
Hello my dear friend:)

Great blog!!! I must say you are doing much better then I...I am having difficulty thinking of good topics to blog about haha But you my friend seem to have picked a wonderful topic and I love that you reminded us to be grateful for those things we take for granted . I think its great you brought attention to the fact that even if something is painful or difficult there is always something positive in the lesson or gift. So thank you for reminding us to look a little closer ..Oh and btw...I am grateful for you..and all my other friends who have touched my life.
