Your Every Day Living Reveals Your Levels of Self Mastery

"It doesn't matter how one was brought up. What determines the way one does anything is personal power." Carlos Castenada

As I continue to be away from home this week, I noticed once again, that my level of self mastery is really determined by how I handle the every day challenges that come about - versus how I handle a crisis.

Let's face it, when we have a major crisis to handle we tend to have individuals around us who are there to encourage us, and help us get through the days and weeks that follow.

It is really in the day to day living that the true character of a woman is revealed.

Can I be patient, understanding, and compassionate when my plans for the day get changed because of someone else's personal stuff?

Will I choose to eat healthy and exercise, or will I let myself sit around and eat too many unnutritious foods because of the warmer weather, and the fact that it is BBQ season?

Will I get caught up in drama that can abound at this time of year, when people are already feeling run down because of multiple outdoor activities, home projects, and planning the summer around having children at home or will I choose to remain grounded and internally calm, - focus on what is truly important?

absolutely!
the 'real' difficulties i found easy to be at my best!
it feels like being wired to survive.. and, yes, there are always others to help us...

but the moments between the moments is truly where the things happen...
all day, every day...

as inspiration i use this (buddhist ?) proverb:
"you take care of the minutes and the hours will take care of themselves..." :)
