Are You Giving Your Personal Power Away?

Personal power - do you use and therefore develop your personal power or are you someone who tends to give your power away?

After spending many years giving away my own personal power, I have learned a few things that have allowed me to turn direction.

First of all, if you are always looking to someone else or to something else for the answers, always looking outside of yourself, then You probably give most of your power away.

One of the great benefits of personal development is the remembering and rediscovering of your personal power.

Personal power is having the ability to question yourself until you find the answer that is right for you. All the answers that you seek are in fact within you.

It is difficult to connect with your personal power and to use it, if you have no self confidence and have not yet developed an inner trust. It may feel easier and more accurate to follow what someone else is saying and thinking - basically to simply receive answers.

However that feeling is short lived because next time something comes up for you, you will find yourself once again needing to go outside of yourself.

Through personal development you will be able to start asking yourself the difficult questions and start to go within. With time you will develop the ability to find your answers more quickly and accurately, because you will have learned the ability to listen to your intuition and to your emotional guidance system. You will be in fact trusting your inner self more.

As you are developing this personal power there are many tools and strategies that you can use to support yourself. However the goal is to become dependent on self and not on the outside being, tool or strategy.

The products, tools and coaches are simply there to help you remember who you truly are and to help you recognize the incredible power within.

The one requirement to developing your personal power is to take the time to be still, to quiet yourself and your mind. Meditation is great for this.

Next time you want to deal with an issue, before going outside of yourself, take some time to be just with yourself and to start developing and accessing your inner gifts.

Make it a great day,

Lynette,
I recently gave my power away to a family member by reacting to them.... I know better than that because the issue was about them! However, I've learned that it is at times that we are under stress that our worst aspects come out. I call them our "unhealed areas" that still need to be brought into the light.... ;\
Using your personal power is having control over your life….or as much control as possible. I’d like to share another dimension that I heard from a trainer today. It is food for thought for me, hopefully will be helpful for others too.

We give away control over our life and our decisions when we allow others influence us with information that is not complete or factual. Example: We hear information from the media: TV, newspapers, radio, etc. Each of these sources has their own agenda. They inform us from their point of view, from opinions, not from objective facts and truths.

We retain personal power over our life by seeking out the truth ourselves using our experience, knowledge, wisdom as well as other sources.

It's important that we be a critical thinker, ask questions, get the complete story before dealing with an issue and making a decision. Develop and keep your personal power for the best outcome. Thanks for letting me share.
