Ritual Divas - Can You Find Satisfaction?

Posted Aug 27, 2010 11:02 PM
Good day Ladies :-D

After another day of work, purpose, passion, nurturing and caring - were you left feeling satisfied with your efforts?

For many women - the list of to dos is long and never ending... and when we add to that a particular project, a creation or task that aligns with our purposeful path - somehow, no matter how much we do, we can still be left feeling inadequate.

Unless we recognize the "monster of more" and put healthy boundaries around it, we end up continuously feeling the pain of overwhelm, perfection...

A helpful strategy I learned this week from Jennifer Louden is to write your next day's satisfaction criteria the night before going to bed.

In other words, you plan out your next day and what you want to get done. Then you state what it will take for you to be satisfied with the time spent on your particular project. Declare what will be enough.

When we have achieved what is enough - STOP - and then the next day we have a place to start.

The point is to catch the trend of trying to do too much. If we keep trying to do too much we erode our sense of self trust and it leads to other things such as running late and being tired.

We are to declare that we are satisfied when things get done. The satisfaction is for getting things done and it is not dependent on how we feel.

Deciding on the criteria for satisfaction and having satisfaction as a stepping stone towards our goal will help us to feel grounded.

So looking back on my day - I would have to say I am satisfied - one thing from my list did not get done, but 4 other things did - so it all
worked out today.

Now off to write my satisfaction criteria for tomorrow.

Cheers to manifesting more Joy, Internal Success and Abundance ;)

Dear Lynette,

Thank you for sharing ... :-x ...

I have always scribbled a "To Do" List on a daily basis ... and I DO mean scribble ... :^O ... B-) ...

I work in an environment of "unpredictability" and that means on occasion I need to let my "To Do" List go without feeling guilty ... Priorities often have to be established on the fly! ... And, that is what has the potential to frustrate novices ... but it IS what fascinates me about what I do and WHY I LOVE what I do sooooo much ... I have learned to multi-task ... to work loooong, hard hours ... and to LOVE it ALL ... The sense of mastery that has come from being on task for years and years of challenging and very hard work is soooo gratifying in my senior years that I would not change anything except at the margins ... :-x ...

In spite of the rather chaotic nature of the work environment I thrive in, a "To Do" List, even if only scribbled has always been extremely helpful ... A reminder of what needs to get done ...

With gratitude for your sharing ... my love, respect, and many blessings ... :-x ...

Aloha pume hana,

Barb
