Do You Have Your Own Vision?

Posted Feb 16, 2009 09:36 PM
"If you do not know what you stand for, you will fall for everything."

Which vision is guiding you on a daily basis? A few blogs ago, I shared the importance of being the captain of your ship. And every captain must have a vision, a destination she is moving towards.

It's not enough to be busy, so are the ants. The question is, what are we busy about? - Henry Thoreau

A big part of life is simply showing up, showing up ready to be, do and have what you want. However, you must know what you truly desire.

If you haven't already crafted a vision for yourself, take the time to write out, draw, or even sing what you would like your life to look like in the next 90 days,180 days, the next year and so on.

In doesn't have to be perfect... just get started. Decide what you want to move towards. A powerful vision will help pull you forward and keep you internally motivated to do what needs to be done, in order to achieve your intentions, goals, and desires.

I found when I had no vision, human nature being what it is... I found myself staying in my comfort zone and not moving forward.

Later, I was reminded that when the captain is guiding the ship, even though she cannot see the destination for most of the journey, she can however visualize it, feel it, and sense the arrival. It does not matter that she does not yet see the destination, because she has a quiet, confident knowing, that if she keeps going forward she will get there. The captain of the ship knows who she is and the role she plays in her vision.

Just like the captain you must know who you are and what is the role that you are playing in your life.

I for one know that I am someone with a message and a method - a message that each one of us has incredible potential, talents, and gifts, - more potential than we are even aware of... and a method to develop that potential, and achieve one's desired level of freedom, satisfaction, fulfillment and joy.

If you forget who you are as you go through your life or choose not to connect with your inner self - you will end up losing sight of your vision during the storms.

Know that you have everything you need within to move without with your vision. See yourself in relationship with your vision - and know that you will continuously adjust it as you achieve mini intentions along the way.

What would you dare to start if you knew you could not fail?

Have fun and enjoy developing your vision.

Hi Nanci,

I appreciate your generous words.

Recently I have experienced many Aha moments , where I have realized how being unclear has taken me away from my desired path, on many occasions.

Now I see it as a game - where the undesired result is simply feedback from the Universe - an opportunity to gain clarity and continue on this wonderful game board.

Dear Lynette,

Hi sweetie....how are you?

If I knew that I would figure it all out....if I knew that I would not fail.....I would leave my job in Door County which requires me to pick up and go every 6 months...6 months in MN, 6 months in WI.....although I do not work for 6, it takes me quite a bit of time to recover from the 6 I do.....

while I am working, I cannot do anything, anything else but work. It is at least 80 and many times more hours a week. ......so all else stops. Also, I am not even at home. It has been a great experience but my time is done there and I have learned all I can learn. The last few years I quit and they offer me more money to stay and I do....because it is safer, easier. The money is very good. If I was certain that I would not crash and burn....if I was certain I would figure out something else here that would afford me enough to keep writing and playing music, if was certain i'd be ok......i wouldnt go back for the upcoming season...

thank you for giving me some things to relflect uopn....thank you for letting me banter....I appreciate your posts and I make every attempt not to miss them.

You're awesome!!!

Thanks you

Sincerely,

Debra
Lynette,
I just love the way you write. I hear you when you point out the power of being clear on vision. I know for myself that when I am aligned with my vision... life is good... I am in flow with my daily activity. Thank you for your guiding words.
