As a member of Sukyo Mahikari, a spiritual organization, I heard a similar story of a young boy who after becoming a member decided the way he could best show his gratitude for life and love for his fellow human beings was to greet all the children in his school each morning. Each day he would arrive at school early and wait by the entrance. As the school children entered each morning, he would greet them with a smile and words of welcome. At first, the other children teased him, but he remained steadfast in commitment and continued his daily greetings. After six months of this practice, the attitude of the entire student body had changed. The behavior of the children improved, as did their grades. The teachers were amazed at the change in the attitudes of the overall student body. All from the compassionate act of a young boy who simply wanted to share his love of life with others. The kind and loving acts of a single person can, and does make a change in the world. As the Dahli Lama expressed, while it seems an impossible task to change the world one person at a time, it is the only way. What an amazing Man!!
