WHAT DO YOU DEFEND?

Posted Dec 7, 2009 10:44 AM
We're caught at the same place in our life year after year, yet we are caught defending what we've always been taught.
~Ron McIntosh~

~We naturally defend the things that we have been taught, either because we believe they are right and true or because they are comfortable to us. Some of us are content where we are, with what we have, even though we have to potential to do much more.

We settle where we are, because it is easier to stick with the things that do not challenge our comfort zones and force us to take that next step. What we have to realize, though, is that not all the things we have been taught or conditioned to believe, are necessarily true.

~However when we find the truth, we must let go of the old lessons and mindset. Anything learned can be unlearned. Until we are willing to let go the old and embrace the new, we will continue to live in mediocrity and a cycle of failure. In order to let go of the old and move forward with the new, we have to transform our minds and hearts.~

I APPEAL to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship.

Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].
~(Romans 12:1-2) (AMP)~.

Pauline,

Such beautiful, inspirational, and thought-provoking words are just flowing out from you like a clear blue, deep, serenely flowing river.

You are great. Keep it up!

Great response Barb, clearly you do not fall in the category I Have mentioned in my blog What do You defend, but the fact is that many people do, and yes many of us are where God wants us to be doing what He wants us to do, while others or not and do not even care. Those are the peop[le who need our help, who need to hear the truth and if we sit back, just focusing on ourselves, we cannot all grow and prosper together to make the world a better place.

Dear Pauline,

Messenger of GREAT Truths ... :-x ...

Thank you for sharing your wisdom and for caring enough to ask ... to ask ...

"What do you defend?" ... Choice! ... :) ...

When one is actualizing and experiencing the "peace that passeth understanding" EVEN IF not "perfect" ... It IS good ... It IS comfortable ... And, for one who has been on "overdrive" for much too much of my life, I acknowledge and receive the right to "coast" ... to "settle" with that which I have been blessed with ... Accepting with gratitude all that HE has provided ... Craving nothing more ... Loving where I AM ... Knowing that my next step is the steps I help my son take ... Fulfillment for me, personally, has little to do with me ... What I "crave" is to watch my son soar ... like the eagle I see him as ... as the eagle I always knew he was destined to be ... as the eagle some who have the ability have told me they "see" ... Yes ... to see THAT day ... THAT is what I LIVE for ... THAT is MY TRUTH ... and that IS my choice ... I assert it and I affirm it ...

And, even as I thank you from the bottom of my heart for caring enough to share from your view and your heart ... I assert and affirm that we ALL have the right to choose ... From the back of my professional brochure: "Life is a journey of decisions and choices" ... We ALL choose as we, in our hearts, are prepared to choose ... We must listen to our own hearts ... See our own visions and dreams ... And, despite the exhortations of those on a higher plane of existence, knowledge, and knowing ... those of us who are "comfortable" may not wish to have our world turned upside down so that we can be RIGHT SIDE UP ... For in my heart ... I know that HE has NEVER steered me to the wrong "fork in the road" ...

This IS an inspired blog post and has come forth from my heart ... I am "comfortable" at a lower plane ... That is just fine with me ... and when I am ready ... and the Lord calls me ... I will know that the time is right and that the call is "real" ... Until then ...

Aloha pume hana,

Barb
