A practice that I like to use to make my days much more pleasant is to find little, simple pleasures and sprinkle them throughout my day.

For instance;

Having a good laugh...life is extraordinary when you are laughing so hard you can barely breathe and your sides ache. These moments of deep laughter are divine in the sense that they cleanse your mood and set your mind on a positive track as well as feeling good all over.

Relaxing outdoors (without a computer or cell phone) as the sun warms your skin, and the birds are singing merrily, be at complete peace with the environment.

Try walking barefoot in the grass... Watching animals in nature....Hugging your child tightly...Helping someone in need.... Making someone smile....

Simple pleasures are endless and most of them are free so make it a point to bring pleasure into your life and to really savor the delights that are abundant and already around you.

Get creative and share with us your simple pleasures.

If you take the position that you will be happy when...

...I lose weight

...I make more money

...I get that job

...I meet the right man

...I move to a bigger house

...I have kids

...I am able to retire

get the picture?

What I have found is that if we are always keeping our mindset in the future we will be doing ourselves a great disservice. The anxiety that accompanies this self induced stress is exactly what is keeping us from what we desire. We are simply not allowing the space that is necessary for results.

It comes down to like attracting like so put on that smile, be grateful for what you already have, and take the action required to reach your goals.

Any tips that you would like to share on getting happy first?

These little dogs are very unique ... they were born with a heart shaped mark in their fur. Besides being so pawsitively adorable, what better place to post this video than in our community that is overflowing with inspired hearts that reach around the globe.

Listen to what their owner says about the gift she has received from them.

Pawsitively yours, :-x

It has been raining for 2 days now and the very moment I felt inspired to write this post, the sun came through the clouds and is shining brightly on my keyboard. I know it is my Mom smiling down to me.Cool

Today would have been my beloved Mother's 90th birthday. I haven't had the joy of hearing her loving voice for 10 years now. But her presence is Always with me.

While on this earth she taught me how to love, give, and forgive with all my heart.

She taught me to have compassion for all, because you never know where a person is on their journey.

She taught that it is ok to cry but to know that it is my choice to bring joy as well.

Because she was my best friend she taught me the meaning of being a true friend.

On a lighter side, my Mom was the most fantastic cook ever. She had unconditional love for me so I know that it wasn't too much of a disappointment that I did not take after her in this area.

But I guess it is never too late to learn ... move over Dave  (my husband is the cook in our home) you may have to give up your recipes or at least share them!Wink

Thank you Mom for giving me the gift of life and showering me with constant and unconditional love.

In memory of you I will pass on to everyone I touch in one way or another, your generosity, compassion and abundance of love to all living things. Your inner beauty will live on through me.

Happy Birthday Mom

I miss you,

with Love,

Audie

It is my opinion that a compliment should be shared rather than keeping it to ourselves.

With that in mind I shared with a friend a compliment that had been given to her from a third party. I could feel, over the telephone, the emotional lift that came from passing on this compliment. It was a small gesture on my part but spoke volumes to my friend.

Have you had a chance to give a sincere compliment today?

I have two older brothers who I love and adore but when I was growing up I really, really, really wished for at least one sister.

My wish as been granted over and over by being a part of our Braveheart Women community. Having the most wonderful sisters, that come from all parts of the globe and from all walks of life, fills my heart with joy.

As diverse as this community is.... the one thing we all have in common is how willing we are to support, inspire, and encourage each other no matter where we are on our journey

To me...This is Awesome!

BraveHearts....My sisters, my friends.... I love you all :-x

For generations parents and kids from Iceland have been on a mission of mercy by helping these baby birds, known as 'Pufflings', survive.

It is inspiring to see these Moms and Dads instilling the values of responsibility in their kids. Teaching them that doing small things will make big differences.

When I asked myself this question, I had so many warm and inspiring thoughts rush into my mind, that I had to stop and allow myself a deep Vagus breath in order to give myself an answer.

First and foremost I love and respect Ellie Drake for having the willingness and the courage to truly live her passion and bring her vision to fruition. She is Inspiration in Action

With consistent daily doses of the Blogs and Discussion forums, my mindset is that of a woman who is inspired to write for the sole purpose of influencing and assisting others as we all journey together for the common goal of making this world a better place.

Our community is extraordinary... Wouldn't you agree to have the ability to express ourselves, via the internet in a safe environment, is indeed a luxury in these times?

After all what isn't there to love about a community of like minded women who collectively are doing their part, whether it be large, small, or somewhere in between, to raise the consciousness of women around the globe?

BraveHeart Women Global Community Mission Statement:

To bring the Women of the world together in order to receive & give Inspiration in the areas of Self-Esteem, Empowerment, Purpose, Passion and Personal Prosperity while enhancing the world by being Brave Women who come from the Heart.

I discovered this inspiring little poem this evening and wanted to share it with all of you.

with Love,

Audie

Today I smiled and all at once, things didn't look so bad

Today I shared with someone else a bit of hope I had

Today I sang a little song while my heart grew light

And I walked a happy little mile without a cloud in sight

Today I worked with what I had not longing for anything more

And what seemed like only weeds were flowers at my door

Today I loved a little more complained a little less

And in the giving of myself I forgot my weariness.

At 8 AM today I have found yet another situation in which Ellie's morning affirmation CD has assisted me.

I was faced with the challenge of getting up close and personal with a MRI machine (magnetic resonance imaging.)

I've never considered myself to be claustrophobic but there is always that first time and this very well could have been one of them.

Fortunately I was given advance notice that I could bring a CD along with me to listen to while the test was being preformed. My CD of choice was Ellie's morning affirmations.

The technician placed a set of headphones on my head and piped the CD through and the test began. At first there was an abundance of loud clanging noises and I didn't hear the first few affirmations but the noises subsided then I heard Ellie's soothing voice saying," Today I choose to surrender... and "It is was it is". I thought to myself how appropriate is this, to have the first affirmation I hear telling me to surrender..... and so I did.

I have to admit my expectations of the next 30 minutes weren't of the pleasant variety, but thanks to Ellie I was gratefully wrong. Instead I breezed through the test with EASE and the direction of my day started out in an empowering and positive way.

Thank you Ellie
with Love and Gratitude,

We all have experienced someone who has caused us stress and challenges in our life. Is it possible that this person could be an angel of sorts? They very well could be a messenger carrying the lessons and gifts we most needed to learn and receive for us to grow to the best we can be.

The difficult co worker might be visiting to teach us understanding and patience.

A business setback or disappointment might be an angel sent to build our determination and commitment.

A run in with a nasty sales clerk might be an angel in disguise to assist us with communication or standing up for ourselves.

A health issue might have been an angelic wake up call to choose a better diet, regular exercise, and relaxation.

Simply put... it is our choice to view our life's challenges as blessings rather than misfortunes.

BraveHeart Women.....trust that 2010 is our year to RISE

Have you heard that the ball that drops in New York's Time Square on New Year's Eve will be green this year? No, not green in color, but green in terms of energy efficiency. According to a report on CNN, the lighted ball that drops at the stroke of midnight in Times Square Thursday night will be 78% more energy efficient than the lighted ball of 2007.

Organizers claim the energy the ball takes to light for one hour is equivalent to the same amount of energy it takes to light 2 home ovens.

Join in at 11:59 p.m., as the ball begins its descent and millions of voices unite to count down the final seconds of the year, and celebrate the beginning of a new year full of hopes, challenges, changes and dreams.

Here's to 2010!

When I asked my daughter how her act of kindness made her feel...her reply to me was ... "I can't stop smiling"

This is a story about my amazing daughter and BraveHeart Woman, Alex.

For the last month she has been upset over the fact that a friend of hers lost all of his possessions and suddenly he and his dog were homeless as a result of a house fire. Unfortunately he doesn't have any family members to assist him.

She had been trying to come up with ways to raise some money to help him out but due to her heavy work schedule, the lack of time was a factor keeping her from getting a fund raiser together.

Last week she had an unexpected income that landed at her doorstep. Like for many others, this extra cash would have come in handy, instead she decided her friend could use the money to find a place to live and get back on his feet.

Today she invited him to lunch and presented him with her heartfelt gift. Because of this gesture he and his dog will be in a warm home celebrating Christmas together.

I could feel the radiance of her beautiful smile as she was telling me her story over the phone.

Right now I am deeply grateful to be Alex's Mom

This is an fantastic story that will have you laughing as well as crying, and is truly inspirational.

When you follow your passion, magical things can happen for you and the world around you.

Surf dog Ricochet (Rip Curl Ricki's) inspirational journey from service dog training, to turning disappointment into a joyful new direction, to surfing with quadriplegic surfer, Patrick Ivison, to fund raising for charitable causes.
