“Just what makes that little ol' ant
Think she'll move that rubber tree plant
Anyone knows an ant, can't
Move a rubber tree plant.” - Attributed to Sammy Cahn and others
I wrote last summer about my writer partner, Caren4U, and how she taught me how to forward and backward somersault in a swimming pool. Yes, there was water in it…
I knew the reason why she’d been successful where others had not. Caren absolutely knew I could do it. She didn’t
know I couldn’t. I KNEW I couldn’t. I’d been told my whole life I couldn’t do a lot of things, but she was so determined to see me succeed!
It was somewhere around seventeen times, but right about try seventeen or eighteen, my husband was successful in getting me up out of the water on waterskis. I wasn’t up very long and I didn’t ski very far, but by golly, I got up and going. See? He didn’t KNOW I couldn’t, and he was determined to see me succeed.
Sometimes, even when you really don’t believe in yourself, all it takes is for someone else to really believe in you and want you to succeed – then what you thought was impossible becomes possible.
So whether you are walking, journaling, reading or learning a new language, or not smoking,
not drinking, not eating bags of potato chips – whatever it is you set your mind to do? I absolutely KNOW you can do it! I want to see you succeed!
I so believe in you!
Carry on!
