A few years ago, at Ellie's very first BraveHeart Women's gathering in Atlanta, Harmony at Home, Hospitality around the Hearth, done with Heart, were all uncovered as my 'purpose'. That weekend was an amazing one, which changed my life for the better in ways I cannot express, and live every day. Since that time, much has changed & change comes from the inside out. Home is where my heart is, hospitality around the hearth is part of our family and our family business, and BraveHeart Women Global Community is a place where my vision expands. In the unfolding of purpose, there are many facets and the living maze of twists and tuns, paths and people, beginnings, furtherings and endings, all converge in a consciousness of forward movement. I love Ellie's saying, Be Bold on the Outside, Humble on the Inside. That statement has challenged me enornously over the years. I stand up within, then sit down again before getting to the bold on the outside part! Heart, though, I do have and courage to face the unboldness I sometimes display. This topic came to me as I was listening to information on "the Healing Codes" which I hadn't heard about before. There was a suggestion made by the speaker, saying, Guard your Heart from Stress. In being a part of this Core Group, with the Prosperity Hormone calls that Ellie and Dr. Sugar are sharing with us, we are learning ways that are brand new to do just that! Right now, I am full of gratitude in my heart: body, mind and spirit... When our cells are filled with gratitude, there just isn't room for anything that needs to be healed, would you agree? Guard your Heart today with gratitude. Best for now, Mary

This Friday focus pocus post is my feeble attempt to put into a few paragraphs the daily catalog of my brain. The last couple of days I tried something different. The "five tasks I must do and the one I WANT to do" each day I put into my Palm Centro cellphone task center. Prioritizing these and categorizing my life took its toll! In just a day I gathered 39 to do's and half of the list were #1 priority! Oh My, can't be so, I've been chuckling to myself, thinking about how tiring the list is without even doing the action! So, change up is required. First I just started doing, checking off, being present as I did so, productive, clear and focused in each undertaking:. Forum comments, SEO tasks on my blog, talking with my son the day before his 14th birthday, handwriting out a complete brain dump of my current project, all made an impression on my today because my focus was FULL ON. And it makes all the difference.

Thursday is my favorite day of the week. The things I haven't accomplished yet must be done, the things I want to get to, I do, and the snail mail I've been waiting for finally arrives. Thankful for USPS efficiently delivering what email can't, I hover over the recycle bin to immediately put in there what can be reused. Another grateful moment is when noon arrives and a mastermind webinar begins which I can often attend, even if it's only to text chat (when Barney is home). Working alone as I do most days is one of the main reasons home based business attracted me. As I researched the best ways to accomplish a balance of personal connection, solitude, learning, & connecting with other business professionals, while maintaining harmony at home, my purpose and ways to manifest it are becoming "Claritin" clear. Finding pieces of this vision along the way has been fruitful. Missing the mark has been a learning experience. Learning to be thankful for discipline as a trait to embrace, for time as a friend to be enjoyed, for deadlines as livelines to be personally etched in urgency, all have their place in my Yellowbrick Road. There's no place like home, no place like home, no place like home, [to work form...]. Gradually sorting out the best solution for my particular situation and having confidence in what I am doing is when l can " Stand Up Within". I've learned from Ellie that others will follow as "my certainty far exceeds the world's doubt." I am grateful that there is a natural flow in my life now merging my business role as manager of our family biz, as a faltering but improving homemaker, and as a developing infopreneur. I'm realizing I am in action based on inspiration and it's a result of ongoing gratitude. best for now, Mary

Happy Earth Day. I wonder if Darwin would be surprised today to see what biological species have evolved. And what creatures are extinct since his time. Is there is an overall vision, a gel, a theory of everything that holds us living and inanimate things in a reality that's tangible, I wonder? Science is fascinating to me. The year I was born into the world was the year Einstein passed from the world. Those scientists that I would like to meet if we were able to pass through time would be Leonardo DaVinci, Benjamin Franklin, Charles Darwin, Albert Einstein. It just seems to me that the questioners of the world are those who keep our world expanding in knowledge and awareness. I also wonder about the contrast of those who used science for evil against humanity, as in the last Great War, which we also remember this week. Is it possible that Einstein may never have delved as far as he did into his theory if his was a different time and world? These three men have curiosity as a trait in common, they asked questions over and over again, sought answers diligently through all means at their disposal, and persisted in testing their theories with action. They risked being wrong, being ridiculed, being at a financial deficit, all for the love of finding solutions for the Questions they sought Answers to. In the end, there usually are further questions once an answer is found, wouldn't you agree? One of the sayings I live by is "You can't get it wrong, and you'll never get it done." So, the main thing I wonder about each morning is how much can I participate in this Excellent Experiment today? So, Happy Earth Day, Glad we are all on this planet together expanding and deliberately creating our reality. Who knows what evolution and the mind and spirit and vibration of science and biigger than that has in store! Best for now, Mary

The wonderful world of music is something I am wondering about today. I've been touched by 3 different types in this one day. Brain entrainment is a regular part of my day. When I don't have headphones on while organizing my day in the morning listening to the binaural beats of my favorite nature mp3, I'm a little off-kilter... It is interesting that sound has a calming and focusing effect on me. What about you? Are you more centered when listening to background music? I've hear that music really is the space between the notes, between the vocal sounds, the silence between each sound. I wonder about that sometimes, because I am so affected by the voice of a singer. It is the vocal instrument that I love most. I was affected by vocals today: One from a woman whose Youtube debut brought 10 million views! Susan Boyle, an unknown contestant on the UK's version of American Idol, wowed Simon Cowell and company with her angelic voice. Her dream is coming about, she is living it, because she dared to let her gift out to the world in this way. I was filled with tears as I listened to her beautiful rendition of a song I'd never heard, but knew! I was teary and inspired and lifted up and invigorated to begin anew on the path to the dreams that I am in the process of creating too. I sometimes like just silence, but when you really listen to silence, there is a surprising amount of sound. From the rustling of wind in our eaves, birds twittering just outside the window, cars passing by, the coffee pot spluttering, the daily background of our lives has a rhythm and beat to it that is music in my work at home atmosphere. I wonder if it's the rests between notes or the notes themselves that really give me the most peace... Another gifted voice I listened to today, that of Josh Groban, speaking of his work in Washington, DC, not as a singer but as an advocate of the Arts. It is truly a time of awakening in our world today. I wonder how it will all turn out? I know with voices like I heard today and I am able to hear every day as part of this community of vocal women, it's easy to see the good news in the world! best for now, Mary

This Thursday is a special one. I am thankful It is considered a sacred day in many places around the world. The Seder meal reminds the Jewish people that their chosen status is preserved and also show their faith in a power, a deity, unseen, but known, who protects and guides. I have a lot of gratitude for the upbringing I had, which included the Holy Thursday celebration. For Christians, it shows the reverence Jesus had for his followers by washing their feet. Jesus served others by being who he truly was and doing what he was meant to do. He was the ultimate receiver of all that humanness would allow him. He was totally connected to his Source, his Father, himself, and showed it in all he focused upon in this life. He participated fully in all the contrast of his learning, growing, joys, love, bliss, his pain, anger, desperation, acceptance, hope and passing into non-physical life passionately. I am reminded and thankful reminiscing about my mom-in-law's passing on this day. This picture was taken a couple years ago when my son Matt participated in a Church service that my Mom and Barney's Mom attended. Peg was a dynamo of life, focused energetically as a person of enthusiasm, purpose, reverence, principle, competition, fun, love, and joy. She lived her last month with us ill, having enjoyed perfect health and fitness until then. She passed from our physical life on her terms. Peg wanted her family near her, and a few months earlier, seeing her oldest son pass away was most difficult for her. At that time, she decided that living through any other of her children passing was something she was not willing to endure. Her 7 children were around her at home. Her friends and extended family all had a chance to speak with her and visit with her. I am thankful that I experienced this process with her. It gave me a different perspective on death and dying, and I will be grateful forever for it. So, focused on living, and the full circle of life, Thursday thankfuls include the opening of Trout Fishing Season. The guys have enjoyed some time together fishing. The attached picture is one of them with the summer flounder a few years ago. I am so thankful that Barney has shared his love of fishing with his son Matt, whose enthusiasm about fishing will be something that will revisit him during his lifetime. Thursday is a day to be thankful, as all days are! Best for now, Mary .

Missed Monday Musings, back to it next week! Today's tips focus on Homebased business. The top tips to offer those considering working from home are these: First Tip, it's not an afterthought. If you are in a situation where working from home isn't your first choice, consider your WHY. I have been on both sides of this over many years. The threat of downsizing led me to my first network marketing business that I dearly loved and I made many mistakes doing it part-time. It showed me that I enjoyed entrepreneurship, but managed inventory poorly. I came away from that financially more aware of what profit and loss is. More importantly, I got the entrepreneurial bug, as I created my own schedule, cared for my customers, designed goal plans and attended learning events. This experience spoiled me for any employer... I had a few more employers after that, and have one now, in fact, although I work from home and am in the process of building my own online business also. Second Tip: The most important lesson I have learned about this is that no matter who you are working for, it is ultimately YOU that calls the shots even in an employment relationship. Empowerment is choosing how you are going to "fill your current space" as Wallace Wattles says in his classic, The Science of Getting Rich. I call it to "Stand Up Within" no matter what your external circumstances are. Within a job, you can expand your vision to enjoy it more, to contribute more, to see with gratitude what gifts this situation may develop in your character. If you are building your own homebased business and NOT THERE YET in your own estimation, just consider this question for a moment. What if all that you need for complete success is within you? Third Tip: Being grateful or complaining brings more of the same. I always choose to be grateful. I don't know if it was given to me at birth or if I learned it, but I know that it grows like a virus. It's a lot better virus to have than a cold! Draw on your internal gifts and find a trait that you can be grateful that you do have. A question I often ask myself, is "What's GOOD about that?" especially when it's negative. You will be surprised to find that soon there will be opportunities that you notice whether ways to market your business, or learn a skill you wish to improve, or cross paths with a new customer or business partner. Final Tip for Today: Write a NEW Story. Rewrite the story of your homebased business. Make a future business that you can step into. Create your dream business, designed by you. Visualize it in detail, then STEP INTO IT. As Ellie Drake has taught, it really is Easier Done That Said! So, I'm going to go do it right now. Back to it, Best for now, Mary

Inclusive rather than exclusive, Sunday Seekers to me are all who search for the whisper from their inner person. Sometimes it's more silent than a whisper, and sometimes louder than the ocean crashing in the Perfect Storm. As I introduce this topic, I'd like to share a few definitions I've come to understand by listening to the teachings of Abraham. You can learn more at http://abraham-hicks.com. It's a slightly different take on mainstream spirituality. We human beings are Source energy focused physically in the personality and preferences of the one who seeks. Whenever we experience a desire for something more, defined by our non-physical self or our soul, it sometimes feels like pain or even depression. This contrast shows us what we do not want and starts us on a journey that makes clear what we DO want. What IS becomes the jumping off place to rewrite the story of our lives and step into those better feeling thoughts that become reality in our day to day experience. So, to start with this theme for Sundays, each week I'll share an experience that defines this process for me. I'll be glad to hear your thoughts, experiences and questions about this. best for now, Mary

Conscious curiosity rules a lot of my thinking process, although rules may not be the right word. It's more like, I prefer curiosity about things, people, events, anomalies, possibilities over hypothesizing or commenting on the most publicized discussions of the day. The following are a few topics that crossed my curiosity meter this week. A news story got my attention this week, Marijuana, Inc.on CNN: http://www.cnbc.com/id/28675227/. This issue is getting a lot of attention and affects a surprising number of people, from those who use cannabis for pain management, to Michael Phelps, to homebased business entrepreneurs. Whatever your view on this issue, it is a volatile one. Facebook News: Oprah featured Mark Zuckerberg (who recently joined Twitter), the creator of Facebook to unveil the facelift on her show Friday. Oprah has a New Facebook Page for her show, so join me in being a fan at http://www.facebook.com/oprahwinfreyshow! At a future time, I'll continue the discussion about the way these Facebook pages will change the face of Marketing online.. People news: Tiger Woods is back in the game after surgery. My husband's favorite athlete made his golfing comeback. Now a father of two young children, http://www.tigerwoods.com/defaultflash.sps, with his father passing on just a few short years ago, Tiger has matured into a soul that is a balanced winner! Saturday's spin concludes with my wish for you, my reader, to share your view of these stories. I encourage the voice of leaders to discuss the cutting edge as we celebrate conscious curiosity! Best for now, Mary

Missed the publication "Liveline" due to catch up time with family. Friday's a day to finish things up, to get loose ends tied, to end the 'work' week, to begin the weekend. So, on Fridays, I plan to focus on footnotes and write about the ones closest to the surface. Stay tuned to the highlights of next week! best for now, Mary

Let's continue on with our themes. Thursday Thankfuls - As I was growing up, our dinner table was a community of 8 children and 2 parents. My mom was an Octomom! One at a time, though. I am thankful for her devotion to us, for my Dad's tenacity at making a living, for all the structure and care given to us during our upbringing. At our dinner table, we all chipped in to help and we all said one thing we were thankful for that happened that day. In that habit of thought, to remember thanks within the mundane, keeps humility close to those who practice it. To live with thankfulness as a habit, the feeling of gratitude erases negative thoughts that come up. The obstinate negatives that draw on our psyche just cannot coexist when thanks prevails. That miracle is what I live each day, and I am thankful for it. I am thankful that Barney saw the stock market go UP today. I am thankful that my son enjoys lacrosse more than video games, just for today. I am thankful that our home is worth as much as it could sell for, since we remodeled last year. I am thankful for the experience of meeting a new puppy in the neighborhood, and allowing that pup to sniff my hand unafraid, when a minute before she was jumping away and crying. The thankfuls abound when I see our neighborhood hawk glide in a thermal stream over the trees in our neighborhood. All this gratitude can multiply as we look for what is good about any experience. In all the negativity that I see expressed in the world today, my main question is, What is GOOD about that? What GOOD could come out of that that I cannot see or feel or know at this moment, but in this moment of NOW I CAN find a drop of the thankful ocean which brings peace rippling outward from that gratitude pool. Thankful Thursday thoroughly rocks! Best for now, Mary

My plan is to keep to a daily post as practice... Wednesday, I wonder what happened to it? The day went quickly, and wonders happened all day long... Well, the purpose for this posting is to give an outlet to all those who wonder. I wonder often out loud. I remember when I was very young, my folks has a coffee table book entitled, A Childhood of Wonder, as I remember it. That book was filled with photographs of children, and others with their faces full of curiosity about their world. A child blowing on a dandelion as it becomes seeds, a mature woman with a creased face staring lovingly into a child's eyes whom she is holding. Those images defined wonder for me as immensely positive. So, wondering some things today... To take it from the first line of a popular song, I wonder why the sky is so blue... The world is full of things that beg questioning. Each Wednesday Wonders will be devoted to the Question Gatherers! Do you have an "imponderable" question? The book When Do Fish Sleep? is 'an imponderables book' written by David Feldman who has authored a whole series of questions and answers that are curious and fun. Most of the questions that I ponder have no clearcut answers, but in the process of thinking about them, certain thoughts become a platform for the answer to come to me. Today I wondered if, when Jesus said to turn the other cheek, he really meant look away from "What Is", in order to "Rewrite the Story" of reality to become more God-like [or good]. I also wondered why the bird, the mouse and the squirrel that passed on this winter chose our backyard as a passing through place... I wondered how we are just as happy living with less as we are when we have more. Abundance is a feeling and I wonder if it's contagious? How about you? What do you wonder about? This is not a place for answers, but if you wonder and ask questions enough, the answers will always come, sometimes in the most surprising ways. best for now, Mary .

Another Pacific Time post! Today's Tuesday Tip is all about Twitter. This phenomenon called Twitter is traveling fast online and becoming a topic of mainstream news too. Curiously, I've been using it in an unusal way: Decongest from stress in 140 characters or less! I have found that if I have a thought that seems to be clogging up my brain, to write it out in 140 characters, especially publicly using creativity, can help create space. In that small creative action, I feel more stressfree, and can begin again in the NOW. Plus, it's fun! Within a post, you can publicize an interesting link, or promote a cause, let someone know you wrote a blog post, put a picture on Twitpic, or share a link. There are ways to connect with others and searchs for hot topics and special interests. In fact, one of my most regular searches has been "BraveHeart Women" on Twitter. You can find friends and friends of friends, you can engage in conversation in real time as your schedule allows. I do time myself and use an alarm. I sometimes go down the rabbit hole to see where it leads, and must be ever watchful! You never know who you will meet when you tweet! One of the biggest thrills for me a while ago was receiving a tweet from Joe Sugarman, one of the greatest direct response copywriters on the planet today. He personally thanked me for following him. The stars, the gurus, the politicians, Twitter is a level playing field for all connectors.

Well, it is still Monday on the Pacific coast, so I'm going to put in place a plan that just inspired me to write regular postings to this blog. Today's Monday Musings: The start to this week in Spring Forward time was a little disjointed. After just a couple hours sleep, I planned to sneak a little shut-eye once the guys were gone for the day. A different picture emerged: Matt decided he was too sick to go to school, although his demeanor and physical symptoms just showed tiredness. My cajoling (and allowing) worked, and as I returned from school, relieved, the phone started ringing for our business. Oh, joy! Yes, it really is my joy, but not at this particular moment. The first coffee was on, and the last cup gone, so I put another pot on to brew. It merely sputtered and steamed, producing no coffee through the beans. Oh, Dear! Prosperity in its truest form means to me that whatever is needed shows up at the very moment we are able to receive. Well, the old coffee pot was gathered from storage in the attic-I found it easily and it worked! Now the morning was just about gone and my musings maneuvered into the realm of social networking, information products, forum updates, and encouragement. I actually got some tax prep done, an article written in long hand, and walked Rusty. It was a day that wasn't slept away! Today, I feel that I honored the Muse, and as a result, found EZAllowing.
