Do you feel like no matter how much you want to change, you still find yourself falling into the same rut?  I know what you mean, I felt the same way many times. Even after I had achieved a certain amount of success in my home based network marketing business, I found myself “stuck” several times in my entrepreneurial career.

Our Minds Are Like A Computer

I finally found the answer once I understood how “Kellie” really worked.  We are like a computer and our minds execute approximately 60,000 thoughts per day. The challenge is that most of our thoughts are automatically running, just like the software program on our computers.  It executes according to the program which runs in our subconscious mind based on our habits.  We are not consciously aware of most of our thoughts, so they just keep on executing the same way each day, like the software on our computer executes it’s programs the same way! 8-O

Upgrade Our Mind’s Software

What do we do when we want to upgrade our software program on our computer?   We install the new version of the program, right?  Then the new program overwrites the old one and the old software program is erased forever!  Therefore, what if we wanted to upgrade our 60,000 thoughts?  Yes, we upgrade and erase the old programs! <img border="0" src="http://b.bh.lvwd.net/images/emoticons/happy.gif" alt=":)">   Really!   Here’s a video we created to help all of us see how this works:

Cool huh?  We had this idea and my wonderful husband Glen made a visual for all of us to see.  This video will assist us and replace some of our old programs with a new understanding of how to upgrade to new thoughts and a new understanding.

Tools To Upgrade Our Mind’s Software:

Other tools which we can use to upgrade our “mind’s software” are:

1) Start a Personal Growth plan and commit to it daily;

3) Create a vision board;

4) Place pictures, posters and reminders everywhere of what you want to create in your life;

5) Visualize daily.

We are re-programming our mind to “Be” and create our future reality, so we are overwriting the current “illusional reality” of what we are seeing.  This takes constant and consistent effort because we are replacing some of the 60,000 thoughts daily.  Everyday our old thought patterns will become less and our new thoughts will become dominant.  Our blog post on Quantum Physics explains further why what we currently see as reality, is really just an illusion.

When Jim Rohn says “Work Harder On Yourself, Than You Do On Your Job“, this is what he meant.

Have you ever “asked” for answers to some of your life’s pressing questions?  You know, the ones which you must find the answer to, but somehow you can’t figure it out, and then it can get very frustrating! <img border="0" src="http://b.bh.lvwd.net/images/emoticons/love.gif" alt=":-x">  Well, I have been there many times, and I remember what Jim Rohn says “Don’t get frustrated, get fascinated”!  Fascinated that the answer is so close, if I just release my resistance and “ask” for the answers and surrender.

I recently found myself in this situation again, and began to surrender and ask for the answers.  Believe me, I know it sounds too simple, however, it works every time.  This is where the quiet time I described in the Slow Down” post will really assist you in finding those answers.

I Listened To My Answers

One of the interesting things has been Personal Development books which I have read many times in the past, coming back into my life.  One of them is called “The Greatest Networker in the World” by John Milton Fogg. I have the hard copy book and I read it more than once back in the late 90′s, however, I was lead to John’s website http://www.thegreatestnetworker.org, and his website was filled with fascinating information!  One of the pages offered a free audio and e-book of “The Greatest Networker in the World”, and I decided to re-listen to his very famous book once again.

The Light Bulb Went On

Here are some of the key points I learned from “The Greatest Networker In The World”:

1. There is nothing which you now know, and nothing about what you think you don’t know, that will help you create the success you desire.  The key to your success lies only in what you don’t know that you don’t know. 8-O

2.  Make sure everyone has fun; teach them all you can; make sure they develop as an individual and as a member of the team; win when you can.

3.  Give people what they want; provide them the level of support, and give them the time and attention that is appropriate for where they are and what they want to accomplish.

4.  Be very clear about what you want.  I.e.  I want leaders who will duplicate themselves.

5.  Work on establishing habits of belief that support them in becoming all they truly want to achieve.

6.  People must be taught to teach others to succeed.

7.  You take a stand for people.  You champion them and their success.  The shortest and most direct way of doing that is to teach them to teach others.

8. Sometimes taking a stand for people requires your giving people a rough time.  Sometimes, being stretched hurts, especially if your mind isn’t flexible and isn’t used to it.  Another benefit of working on your habits of belief is that you get used to stretching on purpose and it makes you mentally flexible.

Here’s a video I did telling you about my “aha” moment:

Thank you John Milton Fogg for all you have given to generations of people and for all you continue to give by Being who you are!

Are you getting the results you want to get in your life?  If not, how long have you been trying and not succeeding.  Maybe it’s time to do things another way, maybe it’s time to “slow down”.

With the exponential growth of information and technology, and the changes going on in our world today, I see so many people running around trying to do more everyday.  They don’t have enough time and they are getting stressed out!  Does this sound like you?

I Was Always Rushing And I Never Had Time

That was me back in 1995, I worked in the corporate world 14 hrs/day and I was on call 24 hrs/day.  I never had time and I was always in a rush.   The years just flew by and then I realized I had missed 8 years of my son’s life!

I Learned To Slow Down

When I found the home based business industry, my mentor’s taught me to slow down.  They asked me what my plan was for the rest of my life.  Duh, I didn’t have one!  He said “Kellie, you plan your vacation right?  And it turns out exactly how you plan it.  What if you didn’t have a plan, your vacation would be a disaster.  So how come you don’t have your life planned out as well as your vacation?”  Wow! 8-O I never thought of it like that!  I didn’t think I had to plan out my life!  But it did make a lot of sense.  So, I spent the next day planning my life.  What do I want in the next 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 3 years, 5 years, 10 years, 20 years, and when do I want to retire?

My Mentors Taught Me What Successful People Do

After I pondered for many hours deciding what I really wanted, he helped me put my plan together to achieve my goals.  I used a planner to master time management and to always run my day so my day wouldn’t run me.  I was taught if you fail to plan Kellie, you plan to fail!

Stephen Covey wrote a book called “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” where he talks about 4 quadrants which occupy our daily schedules.  They are:

1) Urgent & Important – things which must be done now, crises, fires

2) Not Urgent & Important – planned things

3) Urgent & Not Important – unimportant things, i.e unscheduled phone calls

4) Not Urgent & Not Important – things which are time wasters

Stephen Covey says that people spend time in Quadrant 1, taking care of crises, instead of planning in Quadrant 2.  When you take time to plan, then you don’t have many fires to put out. Successful people spend their time planning, and thus are always working on things that are important, but not urgent.

Quiet Time

All successful people spend time every morning by themselves.  Whether they meditate, visualize, or just be alone.  Every mentor in my life has taught me the importance of this time everyday.   Here’s a video I did to explain how I slow down to speed up:

Have you heard of the Pareto Principle or the 80/20 rule?  It was named after the Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto, who in 1906, observed that 80% of the land in Italy was owned by 20% of the population.  Once I understood the 80/20 rule and accepted this principle for many things in our lives, I found it very simple to obtain specific results.

When I started my home based business, I was working my job 14 hrs/day, and I had to find time to put in 20 hrs/week into my new business.  I learned time management skills right away because I didn’t have any spare time to do my new business. (click on the time management link to see the article) Then when I first started to make phone calls, I didn’t understand that 8 out of 10 people who I talked to would not be interested in what I had to say.  I thought I was doing terrible until my mentor told me about the 80/20 Rule!  He said “Kellie, on the average, only 2 out of 10 will be interested in taking a look at what you have to offer.”  That means 8 will say “no”.  Then he said “only 2 out of 10 who say they are interested will actually purchase”.  Again, that meant 8 out of 10 people who appeared interested, and spent time on the phone with me, won’t buy anything from me!  Wow! 8-O  You see, I had never did any kind of sales or phone work in my life, so I was shocked to find out that these averages were Normal!!  Actually, I was relieved!

The 80/20 Rule and Baseball

I went and studied the Pareto Principle and discovered that it worked for everything in life!  Let’s look at baseball, since my son and my husband just love the New York Yankees, and we have gone to many games in New York. When I started to learn the game, I was once again seeing the 80/20 Rule being proven.  20% of the Major League Baseball (MLB) players make 80% of the payroll and the difference in the salaries are enormous!  In baseball, if you hit 2 out of 10 times at bat, you will probably become a professional baseball player.  That means you can miss 8 out 10 times and you would still be a pro, however, if you hit the ball 2.5 times out of 10 (5 out of 20), you will be paid much more; and if you hit the ball just 3 out of 10 (which means you miss 7 times), you are now one of the highest paid players in the MLB.

Here’s some statistics in 2010:

Jeff Clement – .224 Batting Average (2.24 out of 10),
Annual Salary: $405,000
Shane Victorino – .279 Batting Average (2.79 out of
10), Annual Salary: $5,000,000
Derek Jeter – .315 Batting Average (3.15 out of 10),
Annual Salary: $22,000,000

Isn’t that mind-boggling?  The difference between hitting 22 out of 100 times at bat verses hitting 27 times is $4,595,000!  That’s only 5 more hits and you still miss 73 times at bat!!  But look at this, if you hit 31 times out of the 100 times at bat, now the difference in salary is $21,595,000!  That’s 54 times more money! 8-O

My Naive, But Successful Conclusion< /p>

When I understood the Pareto Principle, I asked my mentor if I could talk to 20 people per day, then I would have 4 people interested.  He said “Kellie, you can talk to as many people as you want”.  So I figured out my strategy, I would talk to 100 people per day and I would do it 7 days per week instead of 5!  The more people I talked to, the more people would be interested, the more people would be interested, the more people would purchase.  It seemed simple to me, it just took practice like any skill or game you want to master.  And I remembered that 80/20 Rule, so I didn’t get discouraged, and after a while, I started batting 300 like Derek Jeter!  It was very cool!  It did take talking to thousands of people, but I now knew how the game was played.

Many Things In Life Follow This Principle

When I accepted this principle in my life, everything looked doable!  I remember Jim Rohn used to say something like “when you have your own planet, you can change the rules, until then, these are the rules here on planet earth.”  His wisdom is so profound! :-P

One of my first authors I studied was Brian Tracy who says 80% of success is how you feel about yourself.  Here’s a video where he explains this:

Are you ready to accelerate your personal growth and move to the next exciting level in your life?  If you are ready say “I’m Ready!”.     Right after I would get asked this question, I would say “Yes, I’m ready!” and I would make my new plan, and get all excited for my future.  But then, after a week or so, and especially after a month, I would find myself in the same old “rut”!  I thought I was doing great.  I thought I was executing my new plan…but still there was something inside of me that I knew held me back.  Argh <img border="0" src="http://b.bh.lvwd.net/images/emoticons/love.gif" alt=":-x">

Do you ever feel like this? I was taught by Jim Rohn, For things to change, I had to change.  For things to get better, I had to get better, so I always knew when I was feeling like this, it was time for another level of personal growth! Jim also said “Don’t wish it was easier, wish you were better”!

How Would I Get Better?

I always read books, listened to CDs, and watched DVDs on a daily basis, however, during those times I needed more than just that type of education.  I have gone to many 3-day seminars where we would participate in all kinds of exercises.  In one of them, we wrote our limiting belief on a piece of wood, then we had to “karate chop” through the piece of wood with our bare hand!  Ouch! 8-O  Amazingly, I did it, and within 8 months, I broke through to the next level of personal growth.  I’ve had personal coaching from very successful people who would assist me with my limiting beliefs too.  It’s amazing what’s buried in our minds!  I’ve even been to an 8-day retreat where we couldn’t have any contact with the outside world, we hardly talked to anyone, and we couldn’t even read a book!  We faced all of our own self-talk and learned to “be” with ourselves all the time!  It was a very scary and enlightening experience for me!

Why Am I Telling You All Of This?

Because personal growth is a never ending road.  It’s like a tree, it doesn’t think about when it should stop growing, it grows everyday until it’s ready to die. We human beings, forget that sometimes.   Jim Rohn says “Happiness is not something you postpone for the future; it is something you design for the present.” Since I decided personal growth was part of my daily life just like taking a shower, everything in our life changed!

I’m Always Open To New Ways Of Growing…

I was recently privileged to experience something called EmMatrix, which is an emotional clearing technique, by my good friend Sandhan. I wasn’t sure it would work because I have been through many intense “emotional clearing” events as I stated above.  Some of those sessions I went to were 2 weeks long and very expensive!  However, I am always open to new ways of growing and I myself, am ready to “move to the next level”, so I figured…why not try it?

She Surprised Me!

She started asking me questions, which I answered, and I could hear my little ego saying “she’s not going to find anything, cause you’ve gotten everything out”.  Well, before I knew it Sandhan was skillfully “peeling” the layers into my heart and before I knew it,  I was in tears!  Wow!! 8-O  She found an “Emotional Hole In My Heart” which I thought was healed!  I was shocked and yet very open to her “emotional clearing” technique at this point.  I let her lead me to clearing and healing this “hole” I had, and then she showed me what I perceived as a negative attribute, actually served me very well all these years.  I was then able to heal myself and release the negative emotion associated with this attribute.  It fascinated me!

So, if you are stuck and ready for a “surprise” on what may be emotionally holding you back, go and check out Sandhan’s work.  Just click on her name and you will be taken to her website.  (I am not an affiliate, just a friend)

Jim Rohn said To solve any problem, here are three questions to ask yourself: First, what could I do?  Second, what could I read?  And third, who could I ask?.  Take the steps today to “move forward” in your life.
