Monday morning, October the 5th, at 11:00 AM Pacific Standard Time, (while I am boarding a plane at the LA airport on my return from our fabulous RISE event), my home will be put up for auction on the steps of the courthouse here in Reno, Nevada. Every week this sale event occurs, addresses read off by a state official in a dispassionate monotone voice. A number of people, origin unknown to me, silently raise their hands as the bids increase.
“Bummer! “ you say? Well, not so much.
For months, I have been living with conflicted thoughts and emotions about what I knew would be inevitable. 4039 Antinori Drive, my house, would become yet another statistic in the fact that Nevada ranks number #1 in home foreclosures. Hmm... a not-so-great claim to current fame for our "Silver State".
I would like to point out that as I began this blog, I used the term home…then referred to it as a house. The difference is that I have made the “mental shift” in the meaning of those terms in my vernacular. Where I sit and write to you today is wood, plaster, tile…that kind of stuff, a house. And, that’s it! It is all stuff. It is not me or what defines me, only stuff.
In these past few months, there has been much "shifting" in my life. All great things leading to a magnificent, fulfilling life ahead. Not in time to continue to live where I now reside, but this all is a blessing none-the-less. A new career/life path in social media, and the self-development field is emerging, and I see my "purpose" at the center of it all. (More on that later...) So, it's out with the old, and in with the NEW!
One thing I know for sure is that, where I live next will be my home, because I will be there and will make it so.
I leave you with these two statements:
When one door closes, another door opens. Sometimes it’s just a little Hell in the hallways. (Pardon my French.)
There’s No Place Like Home, There’s No Place Like Home…....
When I was in the 5th grade, our music teacher taught these lyrics to the class. At that age, the words were interesting and made me very curious to know more...
"Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breath free; The wretched refuse of your teeming shore, Send these, the homeless, Tempest-tossed to me I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
These are the finishing sentences inscribed on a bronze plaque in the interior of the pedestal at The Statue of Liberty...the sonnet "The New Colossus" by Emma Lazarus.
...I then began to truly realize what our country stood for in the world...
Think of King Arthur's round table. The King and his Mastermind Group. Yes, well I know that is not likely how His Majesty referred to them, but I am pretty certain that is what it was.
Envision, if you will, all the best minds of the realm, flanking the entirety of the grand circle styled table.. facing one another..all brainpower directed toward a good and common goal..a place called Camelot!
At my table sits Ellie Drake, Seth Godin, Mari Smith, Wayne Dyer, Alex Jeffreys, Leonardo da Vinci, Napoleon Hill, Michelangelo Buonarroti, Eleanor of Aquitaine, Maya Angelou, Maria Andros, Snow White, Socrates, Queen Elizabeth #1, Amy Huentelman, and Jack Canfield - just to name a few.
Pretty good, uh? By-the-by, there are some folks listed here that don't have a clue who I am. But it matters not...they are among the circle that has influenced me to become inspiration in action, and create my own Camelot. (Wouldn't it be great fun to get this group together at Starbucks?)
So alas...out defending the castle, AND slaying dragons on your own, are we??? It's a little more than difficult to man the catapults, push the siege tower to the gates of Castle Success, pour cauldrons of boiling oil on assailants, all on your own...OK, I'll slow down with the dramatic effects now. I am getting to a point here.
You may fancy yourself as a King Arthur in your character, mind and spirit - aspiring to great things. But, it matters not, unless you are supported by an arsenal of great knights, and grand ladies (living in this life, or not-so-much). You cannot create and/or rule a kingdom without a "Special Forces" support team.
So sally forth.. put together the great coaches, and mentors, that will sit at your round table!
HEED THIS DECLARATION: Be a coach, be a mentor, but be very certain to surround yourself with the same.

To my great joy, I have just discovered there is only one real rule in life! Wow! Doesn't that make you breathe a big sigh of relief?!? Well, let me tell you a little story I just came across...
Two prime ministers are sitting in a room discussing affairs of stale. Suddenly a man bursts in, apoplectic with fury, shouting and stamping and banging his fist on the desk.
The resident prime minister admonishes him: "Peter", he says, "Kindly remember Rule Number 6," whereupon Peter is instantly restored to complete calm, apologizes, and withdraws.
The politicians return to their conversation, only to be interrupted minutes later by an hysterical women gesticulating wildly, her hair flying.
Again, the intruder is greeted with the words: "Marie, please remember Rule Number 6." Complete calm descends once more, and she too withdraws with a bow and apology.
When the scene is repeated for a third time, the visiting prime minister addresses his colleagues: "My dear friends, I've seen many things in my life, but never anything as remarkable as this. Would you be willing to share with me the secret of Rule Number 6?"
"Very simple," replies the resident prime minister. "Rule Number 6 is...Don't take yourself so damn seriously." "Ah," says his visitor. "that is a fine rule."
After a moment of pondering, he inquires, "And what, may I ask, are the other rules?"
The prime minister replies, "There aren't any."...

My Mother passed from this world many years ago. I was 16 at that time. She used to recite this to me as a child, and hear it in my mind most every day.
Time to run off to color Easter Eggs with my daughter and granddaughter.
We will write a letter to the Easter Bunny,
eat dinner and then...
DANCE!!

This is one of my very favorite April Fool's Day stories.
In 1998, Burger King published a full page advertisement in USA Today announcing the introduction of a new item to their menu: a "Left-Handed Whopper" specially designed for the 32 million left-handed Americans.
According to the advertisement, the new whopper included the same ingredients as the original Whopper (lettuce, tomato, hamburger patty, etc.), but all the condiments were rotated 180 degrees for the benefit of their left-handed customers.
The following day Burger King issued a follow-up release revealing that although the Left-Handed Whopper was a hoax, thousands of customers had gone into restaurants to request the new sandwich. Simultaneously, according to the press release, "many others requested their own 'right-handed' version."

Amy standing in the dark, looking out over New York City and the Empire State Building (ohh, just got the goose bumps AGAIN, just now, while writing this).
Linda, shutting all things electric off at the "breaker switch".
Peaceful candle-lit homes around the world.

My daughter, son-in-law, granddaughter and I have working hard to get this special diddy out to the BraveHeart Community just for St. Patrick's Day. (Oh, yeah, some other guy dropped in to join us.)
Would it be useful to have a Storytelling Blueprint that would help you create a story…your very own your story? Of course it would, right??
A universally recognized story magnetizes your ideal contacts/friends/clients to you…puts you in line with like-minded individuals.
How do I know it’s a proven Storytelling Blueprint? Because it is a simplified outline of well-known mythologist Joseph Campbell’s the Hero’s Journey. These elements are a constant in all cultures, all religions, and people of all colors throughout time.

I survived trials/tribulations/made the wrong decisions/took incorrect roads. I wanted more/to change my life. So...I started searching/looking for an answer.

After everything else/at last, I found my solution/answer/key. I figured it out, and now I am sharing it with you!
I have a lovely friend Lisa. She is as “fun as a barrel of monkeys”, and thoughtful as can be. I received this message from her today, and want you all to see it. _______________________________________ _______ Lisa writes:
A friend of mine has a brother who will be turning 50 on March 21. This in itself might not seem a huge milestone, but if you knew Glen, you would know why this is a big deal.
When Glen was born in 1959, there were severe complications which caused brain damage. Glen has limited speech capability, and is socially, and emotionally in the age range of 12-14. The doctors told his mother he would never speak, and never walk. Well, we are celebrating his 50th birthday in a few weeks, and I would like to invite all of you to help Glen celebrate by sending him a card.
Glen often checks the mail and can recognize his own name on an envelope. Each day he walks out, brings back the contents in the mail box and then will say, "No Me" Meaning, "Nothing for me" Well, I'd like for him to say, "All me", meaning "It's ALL for me"
As I said, his birthday is March 21st, and some of his favorites are:
His favorite color is: Blue
His favorite music is: Elvis and the old 60s style
His address is: Glen Hill, 914 Keele Drive, Reno, NV 89509
Please send a card and make his birthday a great one! Thanks, Lisa _______________________________________ _______
I just happen to know a special group of fabulous people…of course that’s you out there BraveHeart Women!!
Let’s all send Glen a great birthday card. But better yet…pick a date (two or three) and log it in your iPhone, Blackberry, DayTimer, whatever you use to note your important dates and reminders. Put in Glen’s name and address, at random on any date, and you know what to do from there.
In just the past months, I have added many new terms to my lexicon. There is a whole Internet world out there that has its own ever evolving /emerging language, and quite entertaining turn of phrases.
Have you heard of being Twitter Whacked, GoogleSlapped? How about tribes, twhirl, tweetups, hash tags, twitpics, tweetdeck, friendorfollow …Lions and tigers and bears..Oh My!!
Let me tell you a little secret here. Shhhhh! Do you want to practice Just Be Who You Really Are Marketing? Then the one thing I have to say to you is - Twitter!
At first glance this site may seem a little silly and simple. Express yourself in 140 characters or less. Yeah right, this is an excellent way to spend my time!?!?
HOWEVER, open your mind, take another look. Set up a Twitter account , and do not participate, do not say a word. No tweeting at first. Just LISTEN.
After some time spent in this listening activity, you will likely see a Wondrous and Powerful Genie appear right before your very eyes.
Bingo…you got it…Social Networking…at a core level. Brand yourself, and Network with the biggest movers and shakers in the entire world, for FREE!
Heed this warning however…There are strategies and etiquette that must be employed to maximize your success in Twitterville. Tread lightly in the beginning.
In the past months, I have been trying to hold on to areas of my life that just were not working out the best for me. At the root of it, I was stuck in not wanting to let people down, and lacking the courage to move out of places, and circumstances, that are not serving me any longer.
Those monster brothers, Anxiety and Fear, started to creep...step-by-step...in to my world in a stealth manner at first, hardly noticeable.
Then, more recently, I was feeling the monster duo had me in a death grip. I felt like someone had set a house on my chest, and my throat was severely sore every afternoon and evening. I noticed that I did not laugh, at all…Joy gone from my life.
A few weeks ago, I drew a line in the sand, and during the dark hours of the night, I put a new set of Intentions out to the Universe.
It took only a few days… then my phone rang three times with new opportunities for me to make a change in one of my businesses. A week later, I picked up a new coaching account with some great people you will be meeting soon here on our BraveHeart site.
Last night, on a whim, I stopped at a grocery store and rented the movie Mamma Mia. When I got home and put it in the DVD player, I soon heard an unusual sound….a sound I have not heard for awhile...it was me laughing! I watched the movie a second time, and this time sang along!!
Today I set out on one of these New Beginnings. "Shift is happening..."
