I am not one to jump on every band wagon, but the pharmaceutical companies have proven that they know how to lobby and get things passed. Watch this video and let me know if you think this is a real threat. From what they say, Illinois already tried to enforced mandatory mental health screening. I don't know about you, but that scares the bajeebers outta me!

I appreciate your time and your opinion!

What true patience is, is knowing that you want it and knowing that it's coming and actually enjoying the unfolding along the way. Understand that you never get it done. So you might as well be patient. You never get it done, because every time you want and receive, you also receive a new perspective from which to want. Life is a constant unfolding of new desires and then a constant alignment to those desires.

Excerpted from the workshop in Larkspur, CA on Saturday, August 30th, 1997

Our Love,
Jerry and Esther

I loved this quote today when it came to me in my email box. I love that it gave me permission to always want more "...you always receive a new perspective from which to want."

I used to feel guilty when I would be happy with what I had, had achieved, but then wanted something more. I thought I needed to be content with what I had. Some how it seemed ungrateful to want more..... nothing is more backwards than that thinking!

If God, Source, or whatever you call the Divine is truly all powerful and good, doesn't it make sense that this Divine Being would want more for you? The more your have, the more abundance you have flowing through you, the greater good you are to society! The more you can do for others... not just money, but time, love, compassion, giving....

Obviously, it is not just in the having money for we see many who have money who are truly not happy. We see those that have little money, but have abundance. It is in the wanting to be more, live more and in the appreciation that we are bountiful! On that note, I accept abundance and prosperity to flow through my life! I WANT MORE AND AM ENJOYING THE JOURNEY TO IT!

Have an abundant day!

I posted a comment on Authentic Family Living the other day around the topic of Autism which seems to have stirred a landslide of emotion and debate. I am so pleased with the discussion thread, that I thought I would share a few nuggets.

The doctor posted about the autistic brain being damaged and not able to be repaired..... tell that to parents who have seen their child emerge to look them in the eye and tell the parents how much they love them.

One of the parents posted this great video discussing the terms we use to describe our children and how it affects them.... deeply.

An interview I did with Danielle Herb (15 yr old entrepreneur) highlights how hurtful the labels and judgments were for her at a young age:

Another, interesting video by Abraham-Hicks was then added talking about communication and how these children may actually be here to REALLY teach us how to communicate. You can visit www.AuthenticFamilyLiving.ning.com to view the whole dialogue.

What do you think? What experiences do you have with special needs children? I would love to hear what you have to say!

From the award-winning documentary, "Playing For Change: Peace Through Music," comes the first of many "songs around the world" being released independently. This amazing version of “Stand by Me” brought a smile to my face, and I hope it will do the same for you.

Watch it from beginning to end—you won't regret it. This cover of Stand By Me was recorded by completely unknown artists in a street virtual studio all around the world!

It all started with a base track—vocals and guitar—recorded on the streets of Santa Monica, California, by a street musician named Roger Ridley. The base track was then taken to New Orleans, Louisiana, where Grandpa Elliott—a blind singer from the French Quarter—added vocals and harmonica while listening to Ridley's base track on headphones. In the same city, Washboard Chaz's added metal percussions.

From there, it just gets better and better: The producers took the resulting mix all through Europe, Africa, and South America, adding new tracks with multiple instruments and vocals, which were assembled into this final final version -- all done with a simple laptop and some microphones. Amazing!

Thank you Dr.Mercola for bringing this awesome video to my attention!

When you are cleaning, do you wonder how much of the residue is left for your children?  Parenting about cleaning products can be a bit challenging.  I know I think about what kind of toxic soup my little girl may be bathing in... did I rinse well enough... can you rinse well enough?

I recently came across this article in the USA Today.  I think it is wise to look at not only using chemicals that are not toxic, but are MUCH less expensive!  Who isn't up for that combination?!  Oh, and most likely.... they clean better as well!

Check out the article and let me know what you think!  I would love to hear from you!

I resently read this interesting article in the WallStreet Journal.  I thought you all might find what we are doing here on the BraveHeart Women's site VERY interesting!

In America today, there are almost as many people making their living as bloggers as there are lawyers. Already more Americans are making their primary income from posting their opinions than Americans working as computer programmers or firefighters.

Paid bloggers fit just about every definition of a microtrend: Their ranks have grown dramatically over the years, blogging is an important social and cultural movement that people care passionately about, and the number of people doing it for at least some income is approaching 1% of American adults.

The best studies we can find say we are a nation of over 20 million bloggers, with 1.7 million profiting from the work, and 452,000 of those using blogging as their primary source of income. That's almost 2 million Americans getting paid by the word, the post, or the click -- whether on their site or someone else's. And that's nearly half a million of whom it can be said, as Bob Dylan did of Hurricane Carter: "It's my work he'd say, I do it for pay."

How you view your life is truly a metaphor for how you experience it.

If you believe life is hard, that’s how you will experience your life. If you believe your health is bad, that’s how you will experience your health. If you believe that you will always have to struggle to have money, that’s how you will experience money.

Choose to experience your life as easy, feel it in your heart, then it will morph into that experience! Choose to see and feel yourself healthy, and your cells will respond! Choose everyday to count your blessings, feel yourself as wealthy, and your bank account will mirror that shift!

In all the examples above, nothing has changed except your heart-centured *attitude*. Embrace an attitude that your life is blessed, and you will soon see evidence showing up all around you. Gregg Braden has explained this in terms of Quantum Possibilities. Western Science is now catching up with this knowledge, which indigenous and tribal cultures have known for centuries. Watch this video excerpt with Gregg Braden to understand how your heart-centered attitude creates your experiences:

I love the last bit when he talks about the Quantum Blueprint and being able to look at what is and invite a new possibility by not placing a charge on what is. Wow.. what we could do in all aspects of our lives by replacing a different possibility with the one that exists or is.

Many of you may remember a few months ago I posted a blog about a young BraveHeart Woman. I had found an interview that a WCTV tv station did on her and was so impressed I posted her on my blog. She was not a member on this site, but since that post, I have had the honor of getting to know this amazing young woman. It is my pleasure today to share her story to inspire you as a parent and your children!

Christine Hiebel, Creator of PassionParent.com and Just Parenting About BlogTalk Radio Show will be interviewing teen entrepreneur, Danielle Herb today at 1:30pm EST.

At the young age of 15 years old, Danielle has accomplished more than many people do in a life time. She is the author of "Drop Your Reins" a detailed look into the world of ADD, ADHD and other behavioral challenges so many youth (and adults) are dealing with. Danielle looks into the many causes and gives clear, detailed steps you can take to Drop the Reins and live a life of freedom... without drugs, without shame and without continuing the struggle.

Join Christine as she finds out why the program Danielle Herb has developed is working to release so many children struggling through behavior disorders. Find out why this is not just a program for children with behavioral issues, but as I found out, a tool that every parent and every child can use to learn how their energy affects the world around them... and how they have 100% control. If you are a Passion Parent, you will not want to miss this interview.

The interview is recorded and available for those that are not able to listen live (Click here for Parenting About Radio Show). For those that are able to listen in live, we will open the lines up for questions from our callers.

20090220-tows-adam-walsh-125x163.jpgI am not one to watch TV, but tonight I switched on Oprah (who knew she was on at midnight!?). The program was about children, the internet and sexual predators. I believe what you focus on is what you attract, so most times I would turn a program like this off. Tonight I watched off and on as I worked.

I want to share with you why I believe I stayed with the program. It was to help Oprah spread the word! The Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act was passed on July 25, 2006—20 years after Adam Walsh's abduction. The act established a National Sex Offender Registry law. This legislation was passed because so many Passion Parents called or wrote in to their state representatives.

Recent news reports reveal most states will not be in compliance with the law by the upcoming July 2009 deadline due to funding issues. If senators and state representatives don't comply with and fully fund the act, it will expire.

ACT NOW!

Please contact your state representatives and let them know we must protect our children! You can visit the Oprah Winfrey site for a pre-made letter and you are able to look up contact information for your state's representatives.

WOW! What an amazing afternoon spent with Danielle Herb yesterday. My three year old daughter McKenna, her friend and mother and I traveled to Danielle's farm to find out what the buzz is about this young woman. What we went there intending, was to have a great time and introduce Amelia, McKenna's friend, to horses and to acquire some inspirational video.

What we left with in the few short hours we were there, was a great time, new friends, a renewed belief in the lifestyle Authentic Families are inspired to live and tools we can use with our children for the rest of their lives! Yep, in the process of learning about Danielle, we learned so much about ourselves!

Danielle was demonstrating one of the principles she teaches in her Mastery Course. I asked if she would demonstrate on my daughter (because I KNEW the power of what she was telling me....hey I know a good thing when I see it). Danielle demonstrated that the horse can pick up on the energy of the rider. So when you are thinking and exuding happy, fun energy- the horse would walk forward. When you either got real sad and icky, or you centered and relaxed your energy- the horse would stop.

This exercise was so timely for me, because my daughter has been having a hard time settling down at night and falling asleep.... three hours every night for more than the past week. When we would talk about her settling down, she would often say she did not know how. We would tap (which really did help), we did imagery where I would walk her through each area of her body and relax the muscles in that area, we did massage....

I know that when she could FEEL the horse react to her energy, we would have an event we could go back and say remember when you were on the horse and... I used it twice today and it worked both times. She was able to tell me what the horse would do with her energy right then. We could then talk about why the cat was running away from her instead of letting her be pet when McKenna was not relaxed. So cool!

I look forward to sharing the videos with all you. I was also to have a great conversation with Danielle and her mom where we discuss her homeschooling journey... I know many of you will connect with what they say!

PLEASE, if you know of a child who is challenged with behaviors such as hyperactive, ADD, and ADHD share this website with them http://www.adhdkidsscholarship.com/ Danielle is gifting one scholarship to her Level 1 Mastery Class, an onsite, one week journey into understanding and dealing with their challenge.

So many parents are finding themselves in a situation where they are faced with parenting about a weak economy or dealing with other situations where our children are asking questions.... How do you answer when the winter of night feels like it will last forever?

You remind them that Spring follows fall... that daylight follows darkness.

Here is a great interview with motivational speaker, Anthony Robins on NBC's The Today Show.

I love where he answers the question from the listener who asks about discussing the economic climate with her children!

Tonight I am interviewing Mena Gagné and I am totally excited! I really struggled through my teen age years! I struggled with how to deal with sexually aggressive boys, to the pressure to look like every other beauty, to wanting to play sports (very frowned upon and not supported by the Mormon politics in the town I grew up in. It was a time I struggled with adult choices and seeking my independence. I was fortunate to have strong women in my life, but I think it would have made a huge impact on my community to have a Mena Gagné talking enmasse to the youth about leadership, authenticity, and being real.

mena_gagne.jpg

Mena Gange' is a Leadership / Relationship / Team Coach who is passionate about working with today’s youth (aged 12 – 19), as well as with committed leaders and teams within organizations.

Her company has a strong Mission statement!

OUR MISSION: To empower young women to be who they REALLY are and to become authentic leaders of their lives.

DARE TO BE REAL focuses on the importance and impact of AUTHENTICITY. With a high level of curiosity, we explore what lies beyond the surface in order to:

* reveal more truth

* establish, build or rebuild connection

* increase levels of trust, collaboration and self-esteem

We use all of our experience, training and passion to help youth, leaders and teams break through limiting barriers and work with them to accomplish their personal and professional goals. We also help you experience how being real can strengthen EVERY relationship you have, as well as make you a more effective leader – regardless of your role or position in life.

Please join me April 3, 2009 at &:30pmEST by logging into The Just Parenting About radio show

If you are unable to join us live, and we will be talking live calls, the show is recorded to be listened to at your convenience

Did you grow up with a fear of spiders, snakes, heights, boys (LOL), or other crazy stuff.... perhaps you are still carrying those things around. How many energy units do you think it takes to hold those fears?? Do you attract the object of your thoughts/fears to you??

Interesting video on the subject from TED Talks! (I love TED!)

Think about it! Given that your child will climb, play, tear things apart.... do you want them to have 'street smarts' from the start, or live in fear of what they were never allowed to do?

Here is what one of my favorite teachers says on the subject

Abraham-Hicks.jpg

The more fear one has of anything, the more a vibrational match to the thing that they fear they are. Help your child discover that if she makes things that are potentially frightening a non-issue to her, then they don't bother.

There is so much confusing information out there about vitamins, like parenting wasn't confusing enough,eh? So, do we supplement and if so, how do we choose a good vitamin?

Dr. Mercola is one of the most trusted doctors on the internet. This is some of what he recommends when you are looking at your children's vitamins:

*Does not have any dyes *Does not have any artificial sweetner (Splenda, Nutrasweet...) *Does not have Flow Agent- Magnesium Sterate *Does not have Hydrogenated Oils *Does NOT have iron in the form of ferrous sulfate. It should be in the form of carbonyl iron *Supplement Vitamin D separate and should be tested for dosage *Allergen Free *Minerals should be chelated with an organic amino acid chelate

You can find more information about children's vitamins on Dr. Mercola's website at http://www.mercola.com/

Here's to your children's health!

Found this on an entry from the Authentic Family Living Site. Fell in love and want to get the book, Tao Te Ching for Parents.

10. AS THEY ARE

When you are with your children
be one with them.
Let every part of your body relax
and become as supple as your child's.
Allow all expectations and anxieties to melt away
so that you can see clearly.
Love them as they are
in this very moment,
without needing to change a thing.

When their lives are filled with trouble
allow events to unfold
without pushing or straining,
and you will understand clearly
what your role should be.

You nourish them without possessing them.
You guide them without controlling them.
You help them without worrying.

Being with your children can be like meditating.
When you are with your child next,
forget the past,
forget the future,
and let your mind and heart come
to be where your body is.
