Hello my BraveHeart Sisters!

Well, we are into 2010 now and we are blogging about growing wings, spiritual freedom and transformation through realisations and inspirations...It's all good! - we are supporting each other on our journeys with hope and positivity!:-x

Another realisation that came to me last year was that I was not really forgiving myself all the time...I am too hard a taskmaster for myself. I think a lot of us have been conditioned into this, and we all know this doesn't help us move forward.

So I wrote this quirky little poem to help me purge the habit:-D In the writing of it, I also realised that the amazing me has always been there inside, patiently waiting to fully love and appreciate myself :-x ..It seems I can do that now at long last! :^O

Shed the Unforgiving

shell. Drop long-suffering undergarments. How
can we breathe through flock pores? Shave

the stuffy pre-born fluff. These smog-filled eyes
can still find blue crystals by torchlight – you'd

be surprised. There's also a trick to navigating fearful
caverns - gremlins who guard Sanity actually feed

on blind rage, not confusion. But they don't know we know
this.
Have you heard say the sky is not really threatening?

We just see it that way. Look. Can you believe - I thought
I lost it long ago - my red balloon still flies!

Together, I know, we will move forward and achieve our dreams and bring the bounty and balance of female harmony back into the world :-x

Thank you always, my BraveHeart Sisters, for your support and inspiration!

Blessings, love and joy,
:) Portia

My dearest BraveHeart Sisters!

This is my last blog before Christmas so I wanted to wish you all the happiest of holidays, filled with love, joy and gratitude for the blessings we have around us...our family and friends. :^O

There is so much hype around at this time of year that it is easy to get caught up in it and forget that this period is about sharing love with all mankind, and especially sharing what we have with others less fortunate :-x

When we truly stop, think and practise gratitude and service, especially at Christmastime, it helps us keep our priorities straight for the rest of the year, don't you think? ;)

Let's all make a pledge to do acts of kindness and generosity for those more needy than ourselves; for those suffering from some political or social prejudice imposed by others less tolerant...we are, after all, one big human family on this planet :-x

Let's bring joy to our own hearts and others by sharing the LOVE, APPRECIATION and INSPIRATION that we receive here, in our wonderful BraveHeart Women community, with someone who is not yet our friend. :-D

I'll leave you with a little holiday poem about a fun dream my daughter and I have on our wishlist...

Punch Buggy

Te tara o te ra - sunfingers poke through the trees
as she strides uphill - 4-roll pack of toilet paper

under her arm with 30 cents to spare - laughs
in step with a wish that she owned nothing

so nothing could own her. Visions of the three
of them in a Bluebird campervan with its own

shower, toilet, one big bed - no room
for all the boxes of stuff she has paid to drag

around – they sing and laugh at the top of their
voices, munch Black Forest, play Punch Buggy

and Slap Mini all the way up to Pahia and back - just
her, the girl and the poodle.

Increase the Love in your Life this Christmas, my BraveHeart Sisters! :-x and drive safely! ;)

Many blessings to you all!

Hello my BraveHeart Sisters!

It just occurred to me the other day that there is always a silver lining in every situation ;) - but if we don't remember this, then we may often miss it...

Our awareness is broadening these days, thank heavens. When I was growing up, many things were very black and white, so to speak. There were far too many rigid "definitions" for different aspects of life and people :|

It is so exciting these days that the whole concept of quantum physics and the power of our own choice is widely understood. That difficulties and obstacles are now recognised as tests or challenges to learn something, or an opportunity to make a different decision.:^O

Here's a little poem I wrote this year that reflects this dynamic:

Dandelion Seed on the Wind

Who would think deprivation could
give. But the absence full-blown
bestows
a dandelion seed on the wind.

What I think remote is a hair's breadth
away. What seems quietly here is
long gone, while I – unaware
suspend
like a dandelion seed on the wind.

Overgrown path, strong weeds. Meant
to be just as it is. A moment reveals
the ether has blown me
dislodged
a dandelion seed on the wind.

Mid-air rider of joy on almighty gust
buffeted, swirled, I am tossed and hurled
to earth, not crushed -
I grow
from a dandelion seed on the wind.

The image came to me during a very difficult time last year when I could physically see no way out. It reminded me that there is always a way out, just a new breeze away... :-D

My love and prayers go out to any of you, my Sisters, who may feel boxed in and powerless at the moment. Please remember - just like the dandelion seed, another breeze will come along and lift you up to find a new place to grow.:-x Just be on the lookout for it! ;)

Love, joy and blessings to you always,
:) Portia

Hello my dearest BraveHeart Sisters!

Finally, I am posting my first blog, and I have much to learn about using this facility.

This poem came to me while I was recuperating from illness over Aug-Sept this year. I had just joined BHW, and so was using my "down time" to absorb all the enlightening information that was coming to me through Ellie and Dr Sugar. It also gave me a chance to soak in a lot of the inspiration emanating from many wonderful women on this site...

How Do I Introduce the Goddess?

I

Alone in the beachfront living-room, it's quiet. Spring light
shoots in like injections of adrenaline. Inside her husk
she quivers: liberty.

II

Visions wimple into the sheath. Unyielding cuticle now
splits with each shiver, and she peers between fissures
at her new contour. Divine hues arouse her.

III

Invisible chains fall as she allows a deep sigh. Evening
purples peel away cobbled membrane and pull the sky down
to her. Day-Star rides the sunrise as she begins to stretch
into the voluptuous dawn. Peal out carillion calls.

As I was getting better, I recognised that this time had been gifted to allow me time to find my way out of a pattern of living that had become a prison...

So, this first blog is about Gratitude... Gratitude to Ellie for providing me with information to free myself "from the invisible chains of limitation", and whose affirmations have enabled me to free my mind from the debilitating negative spin it was so plagued by...

Gratitude to all of you BraveHeart sisters who constantly share with us all your inspiring experiences, thoughts and knowledge in a way that enables us to lift our own day, and therefore the day of someone else whose path we cross...

And finally, Gratitude for the friendships which are forming as I slowly, in my own way, get to know you wonderful women, one by one - and especially for my first very dear BHW friend, Carrie.

We are all, indeed, BraveHeart Women!
Blessings, love and joy to us all.
