Clairaudience, or ‘Clear Hearing’ – some definitions of the inner voice or intuition
Clairaudience - can be a voice felt in the ear, from outside, or inside the head
Clairaudience is a term that defines our ability to hear the inner voice or higher guidance from the spiritual perspective.
I’m quite highly clairaudient and have had many experiences of hearing that ‘still, small voice’.
Clairaudience or hearing voices not something that’s particularly socially acceptable to discuss in Western society though…since there is a perception that listening to the inner voice is a sign of imbalance or perhaps even mental illness.
It’s the nature of the voice that is important to define.
An inner voice that berates or brings you down, or simply tells you to do ‘bad things’ is most likely NOT your inner guidance, clairaudience, or higher guidance from angels and other types of guides.
An inner voice that ‘saves your bacon’ if you paid attention, or helped you avoid a sticky situation, or assisted in the formulation of a positive idea, is most likely clairaudience or your inner guidance.
Some examples of clairaudience – has this happened to you?

In Doreen Virtue’s recent book The Angel Therapy Handbook she lists an excellent short guide to Clairaudience, or Clear Hearing.
- Upon awakening, you hear your name called by a disembodied voice.
- Out of nowhere, you detect a strain of beautiful, celestial-sounding music.
- You hear a song repeatedly, either in your head or on the radio.
- There’s a loud, shrill ringing noise in one ear.
- You overhear a conversation in which a stranger says the exact thing you need to hear (clairaudience + synchronicity).
- You just ‘happen’ to turn on the television or radio at the precise moment when a relevant discussion is occurring.
- You pick up on a loved one’s call for help, and it turns out that he or she needed assistance just then.
- A disembodied voice gives you a warning or a life-enhancing message.
- You’re looking for a lost item, you pray for assistance, and then you hear a voice tell you where to locate it.
What I particularly like about these examples from Doreen Virtue is that they demonstrate clairaudience in ways that are not so commonly discussed. You may find a way here that demonstrates the experience of clairaudience in your life.
Some of my experiences of clairaudience
In my experience the voice heard may sound like your own, or nothing like yours at all, and sometimes an opposite gender voice.
I’ve received messages during clairaudience from…
- a voice that sounds exactly like my own (thought to be your own soul, or higher self, speaking)
- A man’s voice (once upon awakening in my house with only my children at home, I clearly heard a man’s voice say “She needs to read the book!”. I wish he could have told me which one – there are so many!).
- A warning voice which could have been male or female, which I felt was from an angel or guide…I was in the middle of something completely unconnected, and got full instructions to carry out a particular task. I even argued with the voice in my head, but it said “Do this now, you need to protect your family!” And the voice was right.
- A voice during a kinesiology session I was giving a friend. This particular voice comes from a now regular guide, who helps me to suggest homeopathic remedies and essential oils for clients.
Are you interested in learning more about the different ‘clairs’ and where your intuitive strengths may lie?
If you’re interested in learning more about clairaudience or any of the other ‘clairs’, I offer online sessions where I will connect with your Personal Energy Field and help you clarify your intuitive gifts. We all have unique intuitive patterns which combine one or many of the clairs and our expression of this is as individual as our energy.
My services site is at www.newworldenergetics.com
Take a look and choose what resonates!
You can also contact me direct from this site to arrange an intuitive session.
I’d love to hear other people’s stories of clairaudience, or any of the other ‘clairs’.

Spreading the light – sharing positivity in simple ways
Spreading the light may sound like a metaphysical concept.
In fact it’s very simple to do and has measurable effects which are helpful for our physical bodies, let alone the spiritual, mental or emotional energies.
Sharing positivity and spreading the light comes from…where?
In the West we are often programmed to spend most of our time in mental activity and using our brains…that is, specifically in the left cortical hemisphere. See this TEDx talk from Joseph Riggio, one of my mentors, in Greece for a deeper (and very simple) explanation.
<iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/KT4_K DNBVxI" frameborder="0" width="560" height="315"></iframe>
If you have ever attended a spiritual workshop or some other kind of personal development program, then you may have experienced exercises which work on opening our heart areas and other energy systems, as well as working with what we think or say.
This is because IMHO most spiritual teachers and personal development coaches are interested in getting you out of your head and back into your body. That’s it.
Whatever exercises you do, whatever meditations you sit through, whatever the program…the practitioner will succeed if you have a deeper experience of being present, ‘in the now’, that is, in the body.
Spreading the light is actually very simple yet sometimes sometimes seems so complex – be in your body!
As Joseph says in his video, there is only so much light and energy in the left cortical hemisphere…there is much, much more if we include the heart and ultimately the other body systems, plus our ability to generate energy through movement and dance.
You don’t have to be Rudolf Nureyev to do this or give up your day job and go prancing down the street, but your body, mind and soul will benefit from moving more in some way or other and you will feel more positive and be spreading the light as a result.
Some people just make us feel good to be around, generally because they are very present and are spreading the light by simply being that – not taking from us, or being a ‘downer’, or creating drama so we will pay attention to them, just simply focusing on the light inside and broadcasting that.
Here’s some simple ways to be in the body and actively be spreading the light by being more present
- Walk barefoot outside at least once a day. It can be for just 5 minutes if you are short on time! There’s an old American Indian proverb (and I’m paraphrasing) that a man shall go mad if he doesn’t walk barefoot outside at least once a day, or as James Kavanaugh says
I was born to catch dragons in their dens
And pick flowers
To tell tales and laugh away the morning
To drift and dream like a lazy stream
And walk barefoot across sunshine days.
- – - – James Kavanaugh “Sunshine Days and Foggy Nights”
- Take a moment to connect with the body overtly. My preferred method is Autogenics, where simple affirmations are used to connect us with our bodies using a meditative effect. An example of this would be “My left arm is warm and heavy” said three times three. Simply sit quietly, feet on the floor, breathe, relax, and say these words in your mind. You will soon become aware of your arm and other body parts!
- Write about or remember out loud a person, situation or circumstance that made you feel a powerful wave of gratitude or commit to an act of gratitude. The frequency of gratitude is a whole body experience so that will kick you back out of your head if need be. If you’d like to be more active about this, head over to Oprah’s OWNTV Facebook Page and follow the instructions for pressing the ‘Gratitude Button‘, you’ll be spreading the light for sure! You’ll find out more about why it makes your body feel so good on that page. Here’s a short video from Oprah’s team about the health benefits of gratitude.
<iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/qSJ1H pcDNxk" frameborder="0" width="560" height="315"></iframe>
What are some of your favorite ways to make sure you are in your body, get positive and be spreading the light?
We all feel negative or down sometimes. I’ve learned some energy tools and methods which help me to be more conscious and be in a place where I am spreading the light rather than being down.
If you’d like to know more about my approach, sign up using the blue box on the right and you’ll receive a free energy exercise to relieve the emotional charge around a worry or concern.
I’d also love to hear the ways that you find help you flip from the negative to the positive frame and that shift you into spreading the light.

Need to believe? Are beliefs useful to us or simply limitations we have put on our thinking?
The turkey on the porch or the elephant in the room?
At some point in our lives we will become aware of our beliefs, often ironically when they are put into question by others or life circumstance.
Many beliefs are unconscious, that is, we have been believing them for so long that they have become part of us, or part of our thinking and they just stay there in the mix, milling around until they get stepped on by somebody or something.
But what do we really need to believe?
At some point on the spiritual journey, we start to question what we need to believe
If you are on the spiritual journey, at some point the discussion of ‘belief systems’ will come up.
In order for people with many and different varying belief systems to work together on the spiritual journey (and there I go again) this has proved in my experience to be a great way to discuss beliefs without stepping on anyone else’s belief set or system, unintentionally or otherwise.
Differing values can then be honored and reviewed in the light of all beliefs being valued by someone – then any of the people in the room who hold those beliefs can hear about others beliefs without immediately feeling the pressure of needing to believe different beliefs straightaway.
And while we’re discussing what we need to believe, semantics invariably have to come into it.
Should your belief system include the belief in a higher power, God, Creator, Universal Consciousness or any variation on that, it feels honoring for most people (since these types of beliefs are strongly held) to use the word or phrase that feels most comfortable for them.
The irony being, that for many on the spiritual journey, we are all talking about the same thing, the same belief, simply from the filter of our own personal, religious or mystic experience.
I currently need to believe (ha!) that beliefs can be let go if they no longer serve us

One book that changed my views on what I personally need to believe is a book that talks about beliefs as forms of social agreement. The premise of this book is to ask us to shift some beliefs so that we can let some baggage go and only believe a few things from ancient wisdom to structure our lives effectively.
The book is The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom (A Toltec Wisdom Book) by Don Miguel Ruiz. The author is known as a nagual, or shaman, of the Toltec tradition and believes that we are all dreaming a dream that we call ‘reality’.
The four agreements (or things you need to believe) are:-
- Be impeccable with your word – Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.
- Don’t take anything personally – Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.
- Don’t make assumptions – Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.
- Always do your best – Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret.
This book made a big impression on me because it offers useful tools and clear direction for the mind…often the beliefs we grow up with may not be as road tested and helpful to us as this selection of agreements, or beliefs.
What do you need to believe and can we do without beliefs altogether?
I’ve certainly experienced that letting go of some beliefs has been freeing and helpful.
I still remember an interesting exercise from John LaValle, an internationally recognized NLP™ (Neuro-Linguistic Programming™) practitioner.
Attending a workshop, we were discussing the nature of belief and one guy piped up “Well, I don’t believe in anything!“ John LaValle turned to him and smiled, and said “So in order to believe that you don’t believe in anything…you have to believe that you don’t believe in anything…?” Hmmn. That one’s a thinker.
Dr Michael Schermer, in his book The Believing Brain: From Ghosts and Gods to Politics and Conspiracies—How We Construct Beliefs and Reinforce Them as Truths , writes that…
We form our beliefs for a variety of subjective, personal, emotional, and psychological reasons in the context of environments created by family, friends, colleagues, culture, and society at large; after forming our beliefs we then defend, justify, and rationalize them with a host of intellectual reasons, cogent arguments, and rational explanations. Beliefs come first, explanations for beliefs follow.
Dr Schermer also discusses the neuroscience behind our beliefs. He says the brain is a ‘belief engine’ and that his belief (ha again!) is that the brain naturally begins to look for and find patterns, then infusing those patterns with meaning to reinforce the data.
From the neuroscientific view of the world then, beliefs are a brain function.
From my (spiritual) view of the world, it is certainly helpful to review our beliefs, and pick and choose those that serve us best, releasing those that perhaps we no longer need to believe, or that were dysfunctional beliefs in the first place.
What I need to believe about the Turkey on the Porch (or the elephant in the room?!)
Working with a colleague yesterday, giving and receiving an energy session, about two thirds of the way through my session, my colleague said “Do you have a turkey?”. Errr…zoned out on the massage table, I was thinking…did I have any turkey left in the freezer?
She responded “There’s a wild turkey on the porch, it’s been hanging out for a while now, staring in the window, I was wondering if you kept turkeys?“. Oh. Now that’s never happened before. Maybe it likes our energy. (Belief).
Maybe there’s a spiritual reason for the turkey’s appearance (ancient Shamanic belief – long before the Pilgrim’s ‘first meal’ American Indians viewed turkeys as a symbol of thanksgiving and abundance).
What do you need to believe?

Spiritual Cinema Circle – movies you can feel really good about
Spiritual Cinema Circle is an online service where you can order mindful movies, have them delivered and watch them in the comfort of your own home.
I’ve been a member for a few years now and I find the movies thought provoking and useful for myself (and sometimes for my girls if age appropriate).
Many of the movies have been made by international film-makers. I like to watch movies from all over the planet, they make a great media diet change from cable tv.
On the Spiritual Cinema Circle for May
The feature movie this month is entitled Sedona, starring Frances Fischer, set in the extraordinary vortex of energy in Arizona, called Sedona.
If you’ve never had the good fortune to visit Sedona it is an amazing and energetic place (my fourth visit will be this summer for the Kryon Summerlight conference).
This movie shows some of the beautiful scenery as well as some of the people who choose to live in Sedona because of the amazing energy there.
To see a clip of the movie, click here for the Spiritual Cinema Circle website.
The other movies included in the Spiritual Cinema Circle DVD for May 2012
The three other movies are also included in the DVD for the May Spiritual Cinema Circle…
- Deaf Day – a movie made in Syria by a Syrian film-maker about a mother and her son and a very special and unique bond between them.
- MYuki’s Wind Bell (a story about self-absorbed teenagers made in Japan). Seems like many teenagers have the potential to be self-absorbed…and these teenagers are from Tokyo!
- Swing It – a story about an adult grandson and how he finds a deeper connection with his grandma through dance.
Mindful movies from Spiritual Cinema Circle – a great gift for any Mom On A Spiritual Journey on Mother’s Day – first three months are free!

Deepak Chopra on OWN – Interviewed by Oprah in Jaipur

Deepak Chopra was recently interviewed on OWN by Oprah Winfrey and took part in Oprah’s Lifeclass tour.
Deepak Chopra is a spiritual thought leader who has written many books and run many very effective workshops.
His latest publication is Spiritual Solutions: Answers to Life’s Greatest Challenges , which I suspect will be on my summer reading list after watching his recent interviews on OWN.
Here is Deepak Chopra on OWN‘s Lifeclass Tour talking about his definition of spirituality and the soul.
“Your mind is a conversation…your soul is beyond that”.
<iframe src="http://www.oprah.com/common/omplay er_embed.html?article_id=37375" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" width="600" height="360"></iframe>
Deepak Chopra Defines Spirit
Thought leader Deepak Chopra says spirit is life—it’s the source of our values, inspirations and intuition. Watch as he explains how being spiritually aware will help resolve any problem or fear. Plus, Oprah shares the first step to becoming a more spiritual person.
Deepak Chopra on OWN in Jaipur
I also watched an interview where Deepak Chopra was interviewed by Oprah (and now I’m typing their names I realize they rhyme, isn’t that funny!).
They arranged in interview during Oprah’s recent visit to India and sat down to tea in the King’s Palace in Jaipur, with a view of the mountains.
The main reason I wanted to blog about this was to share the beautiful question and answer session between Oprah and Deepak.
Oprah asked a series of questions which Deepak answered as follows – I hope you enjoy reflecting on the words as I did
O “Life is…“
D “Life is a field of infinite possibilities and an opportunity to evolve in the direction of truth, beauty and harmony”.
O “The world needs?”
D “The world needs more compassion and love.”
O “I believe…”
D “I believe in the divinity of all life.”
O “Love is…?”
D “Love is the ultimate truth at the heart of creation. It’s not a sentiment or an emotion, it’s the fact that we’re all the same being in different disguises.”
O “Modern medicine must…?”
D “Modern medicine must learn to look at the soul and not just the body.” (Sarah at Mom On a Spiritual Journey – amen to that!).
O “I want to thank…”
D “I want to thank all the people who have given me so much love without my even asking for it.”
O “My greatest teacher is…?”
D “My greatest teacher is my inner silence.”
O “I am ready to forgive…?”
D “I have already forgiven.”
O “I want my legacy to be…?”
D “I want my legacy to be a passing breeze, a pattern of behavior in the universe that came and is now gone – the fragrance lingers.”
O “The soul is…?”
D “Your soul is not in your body – your body is in your soul.”
From Deepak Chopra on OWN.

Life Purpose Oracle Cards by Doreen Virtue

Life Purpose Oracle Cards are a beautiful deck of 44 cards with a guidebook.
The cards have a nice heavy feel and carefully finished golden edges. They definitely resonate with angelic energy!
If you’re new to using cards to give yourself (or others) a spiritual reading, then Doreen Virtue’s Life Purpose Oracle cards are a great place to start.
They come with a compact but comprehensive guidebook to help you have a good reading. It’s important to follow the instructions, even if you’re new to this and think it’s a bit odd…it will definitely improve the results of your reading.
My recent reading with Doreen Virtue’s Life Purpose Oracle Cards
I’ve been getting busier with my work on the blog and information sharing with other alternative and holistic practitioners online recently.
There’s a lot of things I could do, but I needed to clear some space, listen to the inner voice and begin to clarify my path forward.
I had recently bought the Life Purpose Oracle Cards and decided a couple of weeks ago to give myself a reading. Where will http://" target="_blank">Mom On A Spiritual Journey go next?
So I opened the guidebook and got started.
Always follow the instructions with any deck of spiritual cards, including the Life Purpose Oracle Cards – shortcuts will not improve the results of your reading!
With such an important question to read about “What is my life purpose?” it’s important to be thorough.
The guidebook that comes with the Life Purpose Oracle Cards gives clear steps on how to
- Clear your card deck
- Consecrate the cards (including laying them against your heart, which I love)
- Ask your question (whether for you or someone else)
- Shuffle and choose the cards. You’ll be choosing a top card plus three others.
These cards are really interesting – Doreen Virtue suggests watching out for cards that ‘jump’ from the deck while you are shuffling – and they really do! This deck vibrates with angelic energy.
Having completed the above steps, you are now ready to create your three card spread around your life purpose question. Here’s the results of my reading:-
Life Purpose Oracle Reading for Sarah (Mom On A Spiritual Journey)
My question: How best to take my online business forward? Here’s my top card: Strength
“Everything you’ve experienced in your life has made you strong and courageous“.
Well, it’s still a journey but there have been a lot of events in recent years which have only made me stronger.
When you first see a card in a reading, pay attention to how to you feel, any sensations you may receive in the body, any images or visions you perceive or even words or a voice in the ear. These Life Purpose Oracle Cards are created using Angel Energy – these signals are part of the reading.
This first card in the Life Purpose Oracle Cards relates to the overall question posed before the reading – how to take my online business forward?
The next three cards in the Life Purpose Oracle Cards Reading relate to
- Left-most card – immediate past with respect to the situation you inquired about.
- Middle card – reveals your current status and what you need to know or work on right now.
- Right-most card – shows the immediate future if you continue on your present path and follow the guidance in the middle card.
My three card spread using the Life Purpose Oracle Cards
The three cards I received in my Life Purpose Oracle Card reading were
(Left-most) Spiritual Teacher – You Heal With Your Classes, Sessions and Seminars
(Middle) Crystals – Your Connection to Crystals and Gemstones is a Channel for Healing Energy
(Right-most) Speaker – Your Life Purpose Involves Your Skills Of Oration
What was most interesting about this reading for me was that I just decided to put the crystal there for decoration when taking this photo…then I began to realize the significance of the middle card in my Life Purpose Oracle Card reading.
Also, I don’t know what this crystal is made of – my husband bought it back from somewhere in Arizona – depending on the light it sometimes emits a red glow too. He’s good at choosing crystals!
Left-most card – I have given classes and seminars in the past on many subjects, from learning how to learn (for adults) through to introductions to the UCL or Lattice, part of the EMF Balancing Techique® work.
Middle card – just the week before when I was meditating I received an image of a crystal heart…and that I needed to write a guided meditation around this theme for people to access online. It wasn’t until I saw this reading put together that I realized the importance of it. Useful guidance!
Right-most card – I have presented many courses and talks in my life, apparently this role will continue if I take the path indicated by the middle card in this Life Purpose Oracle Cards reading.
Give yourself a Life Purpose Oracle Cards reading
So there it is, how to start working with a card deck, in this case the Life Purpose Oracle Cards deck by Doreen Virtue.
I hope this article has given you some food for thought (it certainly has for me) and that you begin to consider working with energetically significant card decks within your spiritual practice if you don’t already.
And if you’d like a reading from me, check out the links here for online sessions – or I’d be happy to give you a reading using the Life Purpose Oracle Cards.

Unified Field or Lattice and Social Networking – two separate things or one and the same?
Unified Field or Lattice is a term I’ve been studying for the last 10 years or so.
Western science is starting to warm up to the idea that some kind of unified field or lattice surrounds us and perhaps even helps us to communicate information.
As a practitioner of the EMF Balancing Technique® and somebody who is energy sensitive, I’ve thought there was something to this for quite some time just because of my personal experiences…which I never asked for or particularly desired initially – they would just happen to me.
As a result of these happenings or openings, I found myself drawn to learning more just to answer my own questions about the unified field or lattice.
I believe some children already understand the nature of the Unified Field or Lattice
I wear this necklace a lot of the time (see photo above) to help me remember, as our EMF teacher Peggy Phoenix Dubro states
We are all unique and we are all connected.
Recently while waiting in line for something in our local supermarket, a bright-eyed little girl in front of me was intent on making a connection with me.
I checked on her mom to see if this was OK, and it seemed to be (all of this happened non-verbally) so we began to chat.
I could feel this little girl’s happy energy. Her hair was decorated with several different colored butterfly clips.
Her eyes went straight to my necklace. She said “I like your necklace – it makes me feel nice!”.
So I thanked her and told her it represents an aspect of our Personal Energy Field, and reminds us that we are all unique, and all connected using the unified field or lattice.
She glowed and smiled goodbye as she trotted off with her mom.
My brief scribbled diagram of Social Networking as we know it Jim – or is it really the Unified Field or Lattice in action?
On a recent workshop about Past Life Regression with Candace Craw-Goldman, Candace mentioned that in her view Social Media, such as Twitter or Facebook, is an example of us ‘practicing’ to connect without needing the technology, e.g. using the unified field or lattice and our energy to connect with each other.
Lissa Ranking, of OwningPink.com fame, is also of a similar opinion, stating on an online workshop I recently attended that
“Twitter is the Law of Attraction in action”.
As a blogger and someone developing an online business, I found myself mulling the nature of connections over today while I was adding Pinterest to my Facebook business page. (Very useful post by Kim Garst).
Now I’ve spent a couple of years inadvertently studying social media and social networking as I’ve learned to blog, and the connections keep on growing. As I’ve been working on this, because of my training I’ve been careful to set an intention to broadcast positive energy with my posts – using the unified field or lattice.
This scribbled diagram demonstrates information flow just from my little corner of the internet with my Facebook Page, my Twitter Account, my self-hosted WordPress blog, the BlogFrog Community, a plugin and some apps…most of which are open source (e.g. free, or on the shoulders of giants). It’s amazing. Information flowing everywhere and in most cases in both directions!
No social networking logos were harmed in the making of this diagram
All unique, and all connected…are we learning new skills so that we can connect using the unified field or lattice?
Some factors that define the Unified Field or Lattice from my experience, just to get you thinking…Social Networking, too
I have some beliefs built on experience that we are evolving into a place where we can learn to be conscious of our effect on the unified field or lattice, on the internet, or elsewhere.
Some examples…
- What we resonate, we co-create. This means, what resides in our Personal Energy Field draws experiences, people and circumstances to us. That can be a tough one to swallow, sometimes. On Social Networking, I used to spend a lot of time arguing with skeptics on Twitter when they would send me rude messages about my posts. I stopped doing it…and they’ve gone away…I barely think about it anymore.
- Figure out who we are, then that is what we’ll attract. I don’t get many unwanted internet visitors, those that aren’t a match for me simply don’t appear because I am not what they are searching for.
- When I visit some sites or locations, they either feel good or bad in my gut. I just ‘run away, run away’ from the ones that don’t feel good, even if they profess to be a great site with a great software tool, or whatever. The unified field or lattice contains information, on the web or elsewhere.
What are your experiences of the unified field or lattice?

What is Arnicare Gel made from?
From www.Arnicare.com
Arnicare Gel contains the homeopathic remedy Arnica Montana, which is extracted from a perennial herb that looks like a tall yellow daisy when it flowers.
It’s also known as Mountain daisy, Leopard’s Bane and Mountain tobacco.
This from www.arnicare.com
St. Hildegard, a nun known for her keen observation of nature and physiology, among other things, wrote about the healing properties of the Arnica montana plant in the 12th century. Since at least the 16th century, mountain people in the Alpine area have used it to relieve muscle aches and bruises.
How does Arnicare Gel work?
It’s easy to use as long as the skin is unbroken, simply rub Arnicare Gel into the affected area.
I have also added an icepack on top for particularly bad bruising or swelling which in my experience seems to accelerate the effect.
Why I keep Arnicare Gel in my cupboard
The main reason I keep Arnicare Gel in my cupboard is because I have children!
The gel is great for providing immediate relief from bumps, bruises, strains and swelling.
Arnicare Gel needed when my back was turned!
When Arianna my second daughter was a little younger (2 years ago now) she decided to climb an empty shopping cart whilst I was picking out pumpkins for Halloween.
I caught her the first time and told her to stop, but the second time I was elbow deep in pumpkins. A big crash is not what any mom wants to hear…I turned around to find her flat on the concrete with the cart on top of her.
Luckily she wasn’t badly hurt but had a huge lump about the size of a golf ball on one shin, rapidly turning purple.
I took her straight home and applied the Arnicare Gel with an icepack for good measure (there was no broken skin).
It was amazing how quickly the lump disappeared and with a couple more applications over the next day or so the bruising went very quickly too.
And if you sprain something, fall over or get hit, Arnicare Gel will help
It’s also good for those sprains or strains.
After a strenuous afternoon shoe shopping with my two girls I came home with a sore knee (all that bending!). I immediately applied the gel with an icepack again and the pain was gone within the hour.
I also had a family member come and stay when we lived in MD (no names, no pack drill!) who had a bad fall off our back deck.
Between trips to the hospital for X-rays and other treatment for a broken tendon, she was in a lot of pain at the time. Until she could be seen, I elevated her foot, used Arnicare Gel and an icepack to give some relief. (Again, no broken skin).
After she was in an air cast, she asked for the Arnicare Gel because she said it felt so cooling and gave her pain relief. It’s great for those kind of emergencies.

Arnicare Gel was also mentioned on one series of Glee – a lot more glamorous than my stories but even Glee stars get bruised and use Arnicare Gel!

Meditating on the small things – a Monday meditation after stressful weekend
Meditating on the small things?
I am enjoying Spring since the area around our lake at the back of the house is literally springing into flower!
The local church couldn’t keep up with watering and spraying turf, so two years ago now they changed over to Kansas prairie wildflowers.
It’s a wonderful place to meditate on the small things – this flower is one example.
Meditating on the small things can be a surprisingly powerful and deep experience
You can meditate on the small things by choosing…
- something in nature that strikes you as beautiful
- a small gesture made by another
- a saying or phrase that resonates
- simply breathing, the in-and-out-breath.
How to meditate on the small things and get a benefit – even under stress
How to do this and experience a benefit from meditating on the small things…even when it’s really, really difficult and you are stressed out?
Callie had an egg from a treat bag - she decided to share it with us at Easter - a beautiful gesture to meditate upon
It’s been a tough weekend, since I live in Wichita, KS and we had some direct hits from a very big tornado on Saturday night.
We were lucky, but others a few miles from our house were not so lucky, although thanks to the sensible nature of people used to the Kansas climate here no-one lost their lives, many did lose property (in some cases all of it) and businesses were hit also.
As I was walking my dachshund this morning (another small thing I meditate on ) these words popped into my head and I found myself saying what seemed to be a spontaneous prayer to help me meditate on the small things.
I had felt anxious for most of the weekend and downright fearful on Saturday night and this really helped me clear the anxiety from my body and mind.
Meditating on the small things – clear the energy of anxiety or frustration from the body by generating the frequency of gratitude
Words to help you with this meditation
Dear God, Universal Consciousness, or ______________ (substitute your words here)
I am grateful for____________________ and I add this to my Personal Energy Field.
My ‘fill in the blanks‘ at the time were…
I am grateful for my healthy body and I add this to my Personal Energy Field
I am grateful to be safe and well and I add this to my Personal Energy Field
I am grateful for the clear and mild weather and I add this to my Personal Energy Field
I am grateful for the safety of my family and I add this to my Personal Energy Field
I began to feel progressively better as I continued to pray and focus upon clearing the energy of anxiety from my Personal Energy Field.
I will need to continue the practice of meditating on the small things for a while yet!
Whilst I was typing this the tornado sirens went of for their weekly test and inevitably my heart rate went back up again!
It’s going to be a tough time in Wichita for a while, beginning to understand how people feel in Joplin, Greensburg and other places that have been hit in the past.
Will keep on meditating on the small things…

Change the World with One Click World-Changers!
Change the World? How easy is that?
Well I believe that we are more empowered than we have ever been to broadcast the energy of positive change in the world.
I’m currently taking a course with author Amy Ahlers and inspirational MD Lissa Rankin (OwningPink.com) to learn more about creating an online business to help myself and ultimately, others.
There I go, trying to change the world!
Actually, it’s easier than most of us think it is to do a little bit to change the world these days, especially with the power of Social Networking and the Internet.
Some easy ways to be a Social Activist and Change the World (at least a little bit) if you feel so moved
Listening to Lissa Rankin on our Visionary Ignition Switch course, I’ve heard her say a few times that “Twitter is the Law of Attraction in Action“.
I really liked that phrase and paid attention to it because I believe she is right.
Who are you going to attract on Twitter today?
Twitter may only allow you 140 characters per tweet, but you can choose who to follow or ‘attract’ which will turn to some degree result in who will be attracted to, or follow you.
You can choose who to mention, simply by typing their Twitter name with the @ sign in front, perhaps ‘attracting’ a reply.
And you can immediately join an energy stream or filtered form of activity with hashtags (it’s a word that stands for a group, list, thought or some other kind of gathering of minds with the # sign in front).
Just try #bully for example and you’ll find out more about the new movement to clear the energy of bullying from our society. No mean feat, that one, but it’s a start and would definitely change the world for the better.
The recent #notbuyingit campaign by Missrepresentation.org registered many people’s displeasure with the use of sexism and sexist ads during the Superbowl – hardly something I would want my children to watch and be influenced by – the Superbowl is family viewing after all.
Change the world in just a few clicks!
Pinterest is great fun – how about changing the world a little - make a board for your favorite causes too – raise awareness
I recently pinned a link about Dr Oz recommending reflexology - I don’t have that many followers, but it was repinned over 32 times!
Here’s my Pinterest board with my favorite One-Click World Changers as they stand currently.
http://pinterest.com/nwenergetics/one-click-world-changers/
The links on this particular Pinterest board enable you (the online social activist ready to change the world!) to
- Learn about High Fructose Corn Syrup and whether it really is good for you or not – choose to change the world for better health
- Find out more about corporate bullying (and IMHO greed, basically) with the soon-to-be-made movie about the Eat More Kale t-shirt guy and Chick-Fil-A (Mom On A Spiritual Journey is a backer for this movie!). I think the movie is going to be fascinating…the trailer alone already got nominated for an award!
When you update a Pinterest board, it automatically passes the updates onto anyone following the board. A thousand uses for those interested in broadcasting positive energy and who want to change the world!
Social Networking – the Power of One – magnified!
Some great sites to start or find a cause are Kickstarter.com and Change.org.
Got some time today to be a one-click world changer? Get clicking and change the world!

Akashic Records Readings – what are the Akashic Records?
“The Akashic Records are are dimension of consciousness that contains a vibrational record of every soul and its journey.”
(Linda Howe, author and teacher of How to Read the Akashic Records).
“The Akashic Records enable us to become all that we are meant to be.
They draw to us lessons, people, relationships, experiences that enable us to make decisions that will help us grow and expand in terms of our own personal soul growth.
In terms of the future, the Akashic Records of the future are an ever-evolving reservoir of possibilities that we create based on our experiences and how we deal with those experiences in the present”.
Kevin J. Todeschi, Executive Director and CEO of the Edgar Cayce Association.
How I became an Akashic Records Intuitive
I had always been interested in the concept of past-life records, or a history of past lives, which during my study and experiences with the with the EMF Balancing Technique® had taught me are stored in our Personal Energy Fields, or lattice, back behind us (about 24 inches behind us, to be exact).
I have also regularly attended seminars with Lee Carroll, a popular alternative and spiritual writer (wrote the Indigo Children and his channeled Kryon books are sold all all over the world).
During channeling sessions, he refers often to the history of our lives being stored in a crystal somewhere in the Earth, a thought-provoking concept for me.
Then one day a few years ago I picked by this book by Linda Howe – How to Read the Akashic Records – Accessing The Archive of the Soul And Its Journey.
I read the first few chapters of How to Read the Akashic Records and then rapidly put the book down, because I could feel energy moving over me and I didn’t like it!
The book sat on my bookshelf for quite a while. (I have a big SBH – Spiritual Book Habit!). Always lots of books sitting there.
Anyway about a year and a half ago I picked up the book again and finished it from cover to cover. This time I felt very comfortable with the contents and ready to practice Akashic Records readings for myself and then perhaps for others.
What to expect from an Akashic Records Reading
The focus of an Akashic Records reading is different to other types of readings you may have experienced, such as a psychic or intuitive reading.
An Akashic Records reading is an energetic event. Your practitioner’s role is to bring through the energy of the Akashic Records first, and the information second.
Think of the energy as light that is shining upon your personal Akashic Records and clearing away any ‘heavy’ energy or thoughts, feelings and emotions which cloud your clarity.
Then your light can really shine, just like a beautiful crystal!
What kind of questions are best to ask in an Akashic Records Reading?
The Akashic Records are outside of space and time, so ‘When‘ and ‘If‘ questions may result in unclear or very deeply spiritual or philosophical answers for you. That can be frustrating!
When having an Akashic Records reading, frame your answers with how, what or why and avoid yes-or-no questions to gain a more complete answer.
For example, rather than being predictive and placing your question in time “When will my soul mate appear?” ask “What can I do right now in order to clear the way for a soul mate to appear?”
You can also talk about a problem and then ask for a solution to the problem with “How can I best solve this problem?” or “What is the best way for me to move forward right now?”
If you’re in a relationship and that is the focus of the session, then rich questions to ask are “Why are my partner and I together?” “What are we meant to learn?” or “How can I change my perspective to see this relationship in a more loving light?”
If your reason for having an Akashic Records reason is for something else, you can simply frame your problem by talking about it first and then asking the how, what why questions.
Different uses for the Akashic Records
In Linda Howe’s book How to Read the Akashic Records she outlines some different uses for Akashic Records readings
- Readings for yourself (practitioner or otherwise, learning to read the Akashic Records is a fascinating spiritual practice)
- readings for animals or pets – with their permission or their owner’s permission* if they are sick
- reading the Akashic Records for a home for sale, or another’s home, with their permission*
- reading the records of Public Monuments, buildings, parks, cities or areas of land (those with publicly registered names)
- reading the records for your business, (or another person’s business, with their permission only)*
- reading the Akashic records for a patient or client (with permission only)*
- using the records to create future potentials
- using the Akashic Records to learn about a subject on a deeper level (love this one!)…
*When learning to use the Akashic Records with Linda Howe’s method, you open and close the records using something called the Pathway Prayer Process to both open and then close the Akashic Records once the reading is finished.
This prayer process requires the legal name of a person and what they go by or use as a nickname in their everyday life in order to connect with their personal Akashic Records. If you are reading a home for sale with the intention of buying it, the owner has essentially made the Akashic Records of the home public by listing their house for sale.
It is unwise and manipulative to try and read anyone else’s Akashic Records without their permission, just like reading somebody’s journal where their private thoughts are stored. Not good for our karma!
Think of an Akashic Records reading as shedding light on your soul purpose and Spiritual Journey
So there are many fascinating reasons to learn more about Akashic Records readings. If you’d like a reading from me, you can contact me at this link for an Akashic Records reading, or use the contact form on this website.

Bully – the movie
You can put this pic on your Facebook Profile
It’s about time somebody made a movie about being a bully or getting bullied showing real footage.
And they have!
Bully – the movie is here and currently being shown in 10 US cities. You can click this link if you’d like to join the movement. You can also join the Bully movie Facebook Page.
My definition of being a bully
My view of being a bully or bullying others comes down basically to some kind of abuse of power.
I’m sure a behavioral psychologist could tell you all sorts of things about why bullying happens (and I’m not a psychologist), but I have thought long and hard about my experiences of being bullied and come up with a few observations.
My experience of being bullied at school and at play
My first experience of being bullied was at junior school (UK speak for elementary school).
There were two different girls who would bully me – they were both friends of mine and they would play power games with me, liking me one week, disliking me the next. Sometimes the ‘games’ involved applying physical pain or emotional distance and manipulation.
I was the class ‘nerd’ but not popular. I was usually 2nd or 3rd in class scores. The most ‘popular’ girl was first and used to rush up and check my score on any tests to make sure I hadn’t ‘beaten’ her. So no help or protection there.
Then another friend in my neighborhood started being a bully. She had been a friend before, but when we went to comprehensive school (age 11-16 in the UK) we were in different class ‘streams’ and she flipped on me, choosing to bully.
So why did these girls decide to bully me?
In my garden, age 11 I was being bullied at this time
I was definitely different. Definitely what people in the US might call ‘nerdy’. Also quite spiritual at a young age. I refused to join in ‘games’ where girls would pick on one girl and ignore her for a week, then pick another. So then they picked on me instead.
I did accept their behavior and never fought back, (except for once, when I discovered that one hard punch solved one bully problem for good).
I wouldn’t recommend it though – luckily no-one in authority saw me but there was no-one else to help and I was outnumbered. It’s one of the few times I’ve ever hit someone and it was a long time coming.
I was in a fortunate household. I was fed regularly, taken good care of at home and had a nice house with a back garden, even a swing.
The girl who ‘flipped’ on me had a very difficult home life. Her house’s back yard almost backed onto ours, and we used to hear the parents arguing and fighting sometimes. Her older brother had been in prison once and I knew she was genuinely scared of him. So was I. If we saw him on the street we would run. And if he caught her – he was not kind.
I know she was jealous of our relatively peaceful family life. She used to look through the empty knotholes in our wooden fence when we would be outside enjoying our garden. The sad thing was, we used to be friends and then she chose not to be, she chose to bully instead. Hopefully from this story you can see that it was learned behavior.
Then there’s the bully we encounter at work- it doesn’t stop in the playground
I had a boss once who was a misogynist (woman-hater) and a bully. I guess I still had more to learn about how to deal with people with those issues!
He tried to be touchy-feely with women at work and already had two warnings about his behavior. I just used to keep the desk between him and me and not sit next to him at meetings since he tried to bully me this way too. (Remember, my definition of bullying is an abuse of power).
His ‘management style’ was to bully all of the managers in one way or another at company meetings. You never knew when it would be your turn.
I left that company.
How can we prevent a child from becoming a bully?
That’s a tough one. I do my best at home to instigate good behavior from the start.
In our house my husband and intervene when this happens and do not approve of…
- name-calling (this is a big one)
- grabbing or snatching from others
- trying to force one’s own way instead of negotiating
- hitting, screaming or shouting
- commenting negatively on others appearance
Nobody ever said parenting would be easy.
Modern anti-bully movements – it’s time to face up to the nastier side of our natures!
I think the Bully movie is well worth a watch, it is uncomfortable viewing. I noticed a couple of interesting quotes in this video.
One person on the review board says “This is an awfully difficult and complicated issue”. No, it’s not! If we’re not taught to know better, people do get kicks from being a bully, because they have the power (at least in that moment).
I also believe that if anyone doesn’t speak up when bullying is taking place, the bully will move into that space and take more power, feeling that their behavior is condoned.
Parents condone it too. Another quote from this clip. “Kids will be kids, boys will be boys, kids are cruel at this age”. No, they’re not!
Teaching kids how to use their power for good is what hasn’t been taught widely yet. That is one of the reasons why a person becomes a bully in my opinion.
<iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/W1g9R V9OKhg" frameborder="0" width="450" height="315"></iframe>
I made peace with a bully from my past
One of the girls that had bullied me in junior school got in touch a couple of years ago online and apologized for her behavior.
She told me about several home problems (as a child I was unaware of these and thought she had the ‘perfect’ life). It was good for both of us to be able to let this go.
As Lady Gaga and her mother said in their recent interview with Oprah, after launching Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation (against bullying) “Bullies are victims, too”. It’s an anti-bullying foundation, Lady Gaga prefers the words “Youth Empowerment Organization”.
Why do parents find it so hard to admit their child may be a bully and stay in denial, even when evidence is shown?
It’s painful. Some children do lack an ability to connect emotionally with other or experience empathy. That is one issue.
But children of parents without that particular issue have learned the behavior. I think that must be an incredibly painful thing for a parent to own up to.
And what if they were a bully when they were a kid? Nobody wants to admit to being a bully.

Essential Oils from dōTERRA – an introduction
dōTERRA Essential Oils were introduced to me a year or so ago now by a colleague who now lives in Arizona and who is a dōTERRA independent product consultant.
dōTERRA is pronounced ‘dough’-terra and it’s a Latin-derived wording meaning ‘gift of the Earth’.
I’m a regular Essential Oil User
Being a regular essential oil user I had heard about the dōTERRA Essential Oils products from others – especially about their level of purity and decided to try them for myself.
Essential oils have become a greater part of my life since I became a Reflexology practitioner and now my husband (ex-military) and girls love the oils too.
How I started using Essential Oils
I originally starting using essential oils in the UK when a friend suggested they might help me. I had bought a few essential oils at the time but not used them. Her young son was over with her and whilst playing in the garden fell into a patch of stinging nettles.
She told me to run and get the Lavender Essential Oil – we applied it quickly to the stings on his legs and the crying stopped immediately, the redness and swelling was gone in about 1o minutes.
“Oh” I thought. “This stuff really does work”.
I’m an Essential Oil Intuitive Too
Since learning to use essential oils I’ve found that I can intuitively pick an oil or make an oil blend.
When on vacation in the Maldives over 15 years ago now, a friend of mine got his bottom very badly burned! :-0 He and his wife spent a day on a private island…they ran around with nothing on and he forgot to put sunscreen on one important place!!
We were shortly to travel home to the UK and that meant a 13 hour flight with a stop in Dubai. This guy could barely sit down, let alone for thirteen hours.
I intuitively made an essential oil blend since I like to travel with the oils
As an essential oil intuitive I have a tendency to choose an oil instinctively for a client or myself/family, rather than go to a book.
Usually afterwards I’ll Google the oil or look it up and find out why I chose the essential oil in the first place!
So I made a blend for this guy and he was so grateful. He said that it took all the discomfort away and he had a reasonable flight home. Actually, what he said was “You saved my life!”.
Would you like an Intuitive Essential Oil Reading?
If you’d like me to intuit an oil for you, either hop on over and join my Spiritual Journey Community on Blogfrog or like my Facebook Page and you can have a free 15 minute Intuitive Essential Oil Reading for joining up!
I can connect with your Personal Energy Field and intuit one physical, one emotional and one spiritual essential oil for you.
You don’t have to be an Essential Oil Intuitive to use dōTERRA Essential Oils
Even if you’re a beginner and not an essential oil intuitive, dōTERRA Essential Oils have made it very easy for anyone to learn about the oils.
There are a number of essential oil companies in the marketplace now.
I believe they all have a value but I do believe that therapeutic grade or higher are best. Since there are no current regulatory standards for the descriptive use of “therapeutic grade” for products labeled as essential oils you need to look for some kind of mark of quality.
dōTERRA Essential Oils are marked as CPTG – Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade® essential oils – guaranteed to be 100% pure and natural and free of synthetic compounds or contaminates.
My experience of dōTERRA Essential Oils so far
The dōTERRA Essential Oils have very definite scents which seem lighter and more ‘airy’ to me. Maybe that’s the purity – sorry there’s no smell-o-vision on here!
I’m happily using dōTERRA’s Family Physician Kit containing 10 Essential Oils and they’ve all worked excellently so far.
They disappear quickly into the skin (which is one sign of high grade essential oil) and they smell w-o-n-d-e-r-f-u-l.
We’ve had a particularly nasty 3 weeks in our house just recently, where first Arianna, then Callie, then myself all came down with a very nasty stomach virus.
I’ve used the DigestZen from the kit on all of our feet to help get over the virus, Peppermint Essential Oil under my nose and to take away smells (I’ll leave that to your imagination!) and Lavender and On Guard (a blend) in oil burners by everyone’s bed.
This was a no kiddin’ nasty nasty virus and took us all nearly a week each to recover, but the essential oils helped ease the symptoms tremendously.
Where to start with dōTERRA Essential Oils?
I think one good way to start is to buy one of the kits if you are interested in helping your family’s health with essential oils.
I like dōTERRA’s Family Physician Kit – the box contains tips for using all of the oils, plus an audio CD and the following oils – 5 ml bottles of Lavender, Lemon, Peppermint, Melaleuca, Oregano, Frankincense, Deep Blue®, Breathe, DigestZen®, and On Guard.
I also like the Introductory Kit with audio CD and booklet plus a 5 ml bottle of dōTERRA’s Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade Lavender, Lemon, and Peppermint essential oils.
dōTERRA’s video below is very informative – take a look! Also feel free to browse my personal dōTERRA Essential Wellness Store if you’d like to learn more about dōTERRA’s extremely pure essential oils.

Stumbling Into Infinity – An Ordinary Man In The Sphere Of Enlightenment – a book by Michael Fischman
Stumbling Into Infinity – three words which for many can often sum up the spiritual journey.
How long will it take me to get there…how will I get there and what will it be like when I’m ‘there’? I don’t know, but I keep stumbling into infinity, because I’m ‘called’.
Michael Fischman has written a book which opens a window into a whole new way of ‘getting there’. He calls it “An Ordinary Man In The Sphere Of Enlightenment”.
Stumbling Into Infinity – Mom On A Spiritual Journey’s first book giveaway!
Michael’s book Stumbling Into Infinity certainly documents some of his stumbles, but also clearly leads us along the road of a man finding himself in the position of having to grow, in some cases whether he likes it or not!
His book Stumbling Into Infinity shows us how the Universe keeps placing him – one way or another – in the presence of Sri Sri (Shree Shree) Ravi Shankar, an Indian mystic and holy man who has succeeded in creating the Art of Living Foundation worldwide, and with Michael Fischman’s help in the United States.
Mom On A Spiritual Journey’s first giveaway!

More about Stumbling Into Infinity the book – what resonated for me and some of my questions answered

I think the story of Stumbling Into Infinity could be about anyone on the spiritual journey or path.
I found myself identifying with Michael’s story very quickly – he was a child who always thought deeply about the nature of death and dying (check), saw an image or spirit of his grandfather after he had passed (same happened to me when my father passed away) and Michael also found himself causing his religious teachers (Rabbis) consternation and annoyance with his difficult questions during religious study time.
(Double check – I had to leave Sunday school because my incessant questions made the teachers angry).
I’m also beginning to understand why some people find it beneficial, let’s just say downright enlightening, to work with a ‘guru’ or spiritual leader on their personal spiritual quest after reading Stumbling Into Infinity.
Being in the presence of the resonance of working with somebody who is always ‘doing the work’ and fully connected with the world of Spirit, rather than the position many of us Western seekers find ourselves in – that is, dipping in and out on weekend workshops and courses whilst we run our normal lives – is definitely one way to completely accelerate the process of the spiritual search.
During the telling of Michael’s tale in Stumbling Into Infinity, he finds himself increasingly involved with Sri Sri’s work, or “Guruji” as he calls him. We all find ourselves sitting at Guruji’s knee and learning from his wisdom – everything from how and where particular emotions are held in the body, through to accounts of people learning the Sudarshan Kriya breathing method to enable them to destress and relax in life, simply by breathing.
I particularly like this quote from Stumbling Into Infinity where Michael is thinking of not being a Teacher whilst having a hard time setting up courses for the foundation in Trinidad.
Guruji asked “What is so great about your feelings?… I’m not saying you should run away from your feelings, but if you sit and dwell on them all the time – ‘Oh, poor me! I am bad! Nobody likes me. I am frustrated. I feel good. I feel bad.’ – you create a hell for yourself. Who cares for your feelings? Feelings are just some energy that lasts a moment and passes; they just come and go….Go by your dedication, your commitment to a cause on this planet. That will draw out the valor, vigor, peace, stability, and focus from within you.”
If you’d like to download the first few pages of the Stumbling Into Infinity book, a bonus excerpt, or receive some free Guided Meditations from Sri Sri Ravi Shankar (aka Guruji) here’s the link to Michael’s site at www.stumblingintoinfinity.com
And if you’d like a signed copy of Stumbling Into Infinity – enter the competition!
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar – the guru written about in the book Stumbling Into Infinity and the Art Of Living organization
I’m very grateful to Michael Fischman not only for writing Stumbling Into Infinity, but for helping to introduce us in the West to a guru such as Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.
Since Guruji’s brilliant presence shines through in the book, I thought you may also enjoy this video of a short presentation he gave as a message for the New Year (2012). (Hint – it will also help you with the competition!).
<iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/C3Wqp YZq6NU" frameborder="0" width="450" height="315"></iframe>
In my opinion his work is very much needed in the West to help us reprogram many negative thought patterns that exist in our culture, as well as teaching us how to be more well and healthy using meditation and such deep techniques as the Sudarshan Kriya.
Then perhaps we’ll all be gaining a deeper sense of the greater than self rather than stumbling into infinity.

Using Affirmations
Affirmations are positively framed words which help influence our state of mind. Check out my Using Affirmations page for my take on how to apply them in life.
Using Affirmations from my 8 year old daughter (well, 8 and a half!)
Arianna wrote these affirmations for me last week when she saw me getting overwhelmed and stressed. I think I may frame them!
She used Easter bunny stickies and creatively turned them into a book.
In the meantime I’m going to share them here with you to let their magic spread into your brain chemistry…and others.
Always nice to be taught a lesson on using affirmations from my children and a reminder to get out of my own head. Enjoy!
Using Affirmations – built around Arianna’s view of how we first need to BELIEVE in ourselves
1. Believe (see picture above).
2. Trust Yourself. To make it a reflexive I experience, try…
I trust myself or
I can rely on myself…
Even, I trust my Inner Guidance.
Interesting to note how the shape and color is effective when using affirmations this way… only noticed this as I’m scanning these on here.
3. Trust your heart not your head.
Again, use the reflexive I construct when using affirmations.
(You can try both by saying them to yourself with your eyes closed, you’ll notice a difference).
I trust my heart.
(You can leave the negative construct out of the language e.g. ‘not your head’ when using affirmations, or replace it with…
I trust my heart. My mind is balanced and clear.
From the EMF Balancing Technique®, we would say
I feel with my mind and think with my heart.
4. Be the best you can be
Nice!
So make it the reflexive ‘I’ and also with some sense of future becoming – that puts us under less pressure when using affirmations and opens us to future potentials.
I am constantly becoming the best that I am
I am the best I can be
5. Love, love, love you can always trust
Wow. Other than the reflexive ‘I’, how can I possibly improve on this one?
I trust in love, love, love
Or simply…
Love, love, love
I’m so proud of my deep thinking little girl! (Sniff).
If you want to learn more about using affirmations, here’s a book review of You Can Heal Your Life from Louise Hay, one of my personal favorites.
In the meantime, I hope this gives you some ideas to go on and encourages you and your family to begin using affirmations.
