An exciting time--the birth of a new book! Me and Green is a book written by an award-winning author, me, :) with contributions by a Reading Specialist/Educator and a Green Building Entrepreneur. (Both happen to be the author's (Therese) daughters!) Even more exciting! My daughter, Catherine, wrote the back section that leads parents and teachers through exercises and projects with kids by using the book. Mary Tappouni owns Breaking Ground Contracting Company in Jacksonville Florida. In addition to her many awards (Florida Small Business Person of the Year-2009, Sustainable Florida winner-2009, etc.) she works extensively to promote Green (Sustainable) Living in her company and in the homes of the community. She put her money where her path is by commissioning me to write the book, and the result is absolutely joyful, colorful, eductional, scientific and FUN! With the fear-based issues on the planet taking center stage, our book reminds kids of their power to make a difference, no matter how young they are. You can see it on my website store at www.IsisInstitute.org and order a signed copy from there, or wait a week or two and it will be in Amazon and book stores. (You can't get signed copies there, though:( ) Recommended already by principals, teachers, entrepreneurs and green activists, Me and Green is a great gift for children, parents, teachers, grandparents and all of those who love Mother Earth.

The poem, Song of Greening, is given to you to enjoy as a gift from a grateful newly minted BraveHeart Woman.
Thank you for welcoming me into your space.
Blessings and Love from Therese

Song of Greening

Sing our earth into green
for she has been dry too long.

Sing scarlet for poppies
dancing toward lion-colored
hills like red umbrellas.

Sing lavender fields
smell notes rising. Sing
with the lark; laugh

at your presumption,
sing anyway. It is all
part of the Great Work,

this singing. Is your throat
dry like Mother Earth? Begin
small; a warble–even

a croak. A frog sings in its
frog way. Soon you will hear
praise pour from your throat

like honeyed wine. It will
surprise you with its joy.
Released from caged silence

notes will fall upward, seed
the clouds, drop down fat water-
filled notes in a flood of hallelujahs
