Hi Julie and Leslie,

Thank you for joining my community, 'Connecting with Your Angels', and for your lovely message. I read your chapter in the Braveheart Women's book and definitely see how we have some things in common. The emotional distancing as a result of abuse was something I never really understood. I just knew I did it. I was well aware that I 'blocked' my past and avoided connecting with people emotionally. I always kept my distance, and even though they may not have noticed it completely, I knew I was doing it on a subconscious level. I can't count the times I felt like I was looking in from the outside...even with people close to me. As I mentioned in my blog, I am now making a purposeful effort to connect.
