I am a Entrepreneur, I am the Producer, Director, Writer, Editor and Host of my cable talk show. I am very much into empowering people and helping them start and succeed in the business world. Most people are willing to show you how to start up business but ask for a payment and that's okay but I feel that giving free help is something that is needed at times. The way the economy is at the moment many people don't have the cash flow to pay for the information but are willing to give back after they are have started and doing just a little business. Networking to me is as valuable as cash these days so that is what I do network as much as possible. Advertising is important and what better way to advertise than to help someone, they help you back and the both pf you talk about, put on each others website or invite each other to networking events that you give. Either way you make a new friend in business, you have help promoting your business and you get new customers or clients. Isn't that what collaboration and business people helping other business people is all about. I can tell you how to start up a new business in the United States. I can tell you everything from licenses, free advertising, free websites, banking, loans and more. (I am sure these things can be done in other states as well)

Hello fellow Brave Heart Women,
I am so amazed to find this group, and the teachings to help me be a better person and business woman.
If you look at my profile, I own a jewelry design & handcrafted jewelry business www.amyjewelldesigns.com .
I have been struggling to build this business, went to my bank, ask for a small loan, SBA, state & fed grants, and they all say that no one is lending money.... Even thou I have a good credit score, pay my bills on time, be a good honest person, and be a good mentor to other women.
I even took a wild jump and relocated myself and my business to Key West, FL in desperation to hit the area where tourist are visiting by the groves on a daily basis, but still having issues. And it's NOT as if my jewelry is over priced.
I have spent so much money creating a website, creating seller profiles on ebay.com, amazon.com, artfire.com, bonanza.com, etsy.com, etc.... but still a dead end, and eaten alive with their fee's.
Is there any help, guidance, a yellow brick road, etc.... that may lead to a small dim light at the end of the tunnel?
Wish me luck.....

Hi Ladies, I started in the construction industry as a teenager. Mobile Press Register, dated 09/15/1974 verifies my start in the industry and today I am 52 years old. My experience includes hands-on experience. Thats right ladies I worked as a bricklayer and concrete finisher. After years of being in business with others and a fail marriage (divorced), I decided to start my own business. I have state and federal certifications, as a Economically Disadvantaged Woman Owned Small Business. My new business is less than 2 years old, so I cannot qualify for the one set-aside program that could help me, SBA 8(a). I visited state, federal agencies and military bases, attended workshops, asking for assistance to obtain just one contract that would give me a break. Nobody, no not one, would help me. I have spent all, I have been approved to take the State Res/LC Contractors Exam. Don't have funds to attend a class for it non my Project Managemnent Certification classes, which could enhance my business. I don't want just a meal ticket, but I want to build a business that I will be able to give someone else a job. All my life I wanted to be a General Contractor. I need a mentor that knows how to be successful in the construction industry. Guys have told me, put on a apron, you need to be in the kitchen. I say, I just need help, a successful woman to mentor me on how to be successful. Please give me a chance whereby I can give someone else. Mentor Me, Mentor Me Somebody.

I use to own several cookie shops but divorce and the economy took a hit and had to close the last one in 1996. There is another cookie shop that has been in business since 1980's and is for sale at a reasonalbe price. My question is this, are there funds in which I can tap into to purchase this business?

I am now 66 on SS and Medicare and had to go back to work for the State of CA on a seasonal basis and realizing that I will have to work til I drop with the State buying this business will give me a sense of empowerment once again.

Any help out there on this great website?

Thank you to all the women on this site!

Hello BraveHeart Women, I am so excited for all you women who are finding yourself through the rigour, leaps and bounds of what it takes to successfully no only conceive but also birth your business especially in now a days challenging economy. I wish you all longevity and much success.
I too am working on starting up a fashion boutique and finding it not so easy especially without any real guidance as to how or what would be the best way to make this happen. I am a degreee holder fashion designer and have a number of my clothing line in fashion shows here and there. Much feed back about my ensambles leave me flattered and quite sure of myself and quite excited only to have the excitement die with no one to help take it to the next level.
With legalities with Designer logos etc, I need some advice on what would be the best way to legalize and introduce myself without finding myself being sued or needing to sue someone in the future.
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR EXPERTISE.
