I am portaging a canoe.I thought, I cant do this....turns out, I candidn't think I could do this, but I can! BWCA means boundary waters canoe area..no motors are allowed. There are ton of lakes...there may be a little piece of land to cut through and get to another lake...you have to portage your canoe and all your gear the distance between..some are short, some can be long. It's a little difficult to get it on your ,but it is light....just wibbly wobbly.....then you scrunch down slowly and flip it over....finesse and fun!

Hey Debra, I portaged at Lake Quetico. When I was 17 years old, I got a scholarship to "Save the wolves." I even learned how to do a loon call.(Whistling with the cup of my hands.)We would use our sierra cup & drink fresh water. Take care dear heart, your friend,Mary
