Making time for fun in our personal development plan is crucial to our success. This was a hard concept for me to learn. "Celebrate your success. Find some humor in your failures. Don't take yourself so seriously. Loosen up, and everybody around you will loosen up. Have fun." Sam Walton
In my recent travels, I was reminded of a critical element of life, taking the time to have FUN, and making the daily tasks enjoyable.
Did you know that laughter and fun help you to not only increase your sense of wellbeing but also increase your wealth creation?
Canon said "Why would people want buy from you if they don't enjoy doing so? Making what you have to sell fun to buy is simply taking the whole process one step further. If you can make your customers laugh, and excite them with your vision of what life can be, they are not going to walk into your outlets, but run into them. Running a successful business should be fun for you, and there's every reason why you should be able to communicate that sense of fun to your customers. Certainly, if you aren't having fun, you probably aren't running a successful business."
Having been a serious, detail oriented person for the majority of my working life, I appreciate being reminded to let go and choose the Fun path.
One of the essential elements in maintaining a positive healthy mindset is to take time out for laughter and fun. Any time we get too rigid about anything, even if it is something for our own good like exercise and time spent learning, we end up being too attached to a particular outcome.
This can also lead to feeling weighed down and walking around with a sensation of heaviness. This heavy feeling or vibration also gets communicated to others when we are interacting with them. People are already overburdened and overwhelmed; they certainly are not looking for more of the same from you or me.
Most of the things that occur in our life are there to teach us a lesson. Our leader Ellie Drake said, "We will probably be laughing at this same stuff in 3-5 years from now, so why not laugh a little now."
Sharing laughter after a painful moment lets the individuals be more in balance. If you have just been through something painful - laughter can add balance to your perspective and prevent you from taking on false beliefs around what has just occurred.
Also having fun things to look forward to, and planning these events keeps people young.
Enjoy your week and do sneak in a moment or two of pure pleasure!

Unfortunately most women were never taught the specific skills to enable them to have the tough conversations... you know the kind ... the ones you need to have with your partner, a family member, a co-worker or a boss - telling them what is bothering you. These are conversations were the stakes are high, the emotions run high and the opinions most certainly differ.
Yet as women if we do not learn this skill set, we will likely do one of two things. We will probably choose to avoid having the crucial conversations or we will have them and handle them badly; having pieces to pick up in the aftermath. And having many areas of our life negatively impacted.
Once we learn some of the theories, the skills and have models to use when needed - we will feel a lot more comfortable stepping up to the plate and honoring our selves and our truth. Our needs will be be met more easily and effortlessly - leaving behind silence or the violence (the blaming, the attacking, the controlling). Positive actions and results will follow.
By learning the tools to dialogue more effectively, we'll be empowering ourselves so that we can strengthen our relationships, enhance our family life... helping to heal communities and shoring up nations - one woman - one crucial conversation at a time.
Can you imagine what that will look and feel like ???
I recommend reading "Crucial Conversations: Tools for talking when the stakes are high." by R. McMillan, K. Patterson, A. Switler, and J. Grenny.
I trust you are enjoying the after glow of Christmas, the aura of love, peace, fun, and harmony that lingers on after December 25th actually comes and goes...
Here we certainly are... among all the pleasures of the season - the weather is milder and being outdoors is simply wonderful.
Soon talk and actions will turn to the New Year ... and the energies of renewal will be palpable.
Actually we can choose to turn a new leaf or start anew any day of the year. However at this time, the fact that so many individuals the world over are tuned into and focused on bringing change into their life, makes change so much easier.
You can choose to anchor into this wave of renewal to help propel yourself to a better place and better results in 2010.
However, before we get thinking about the New Year, it might be a very good idea to go over what we have accomplished in the past 12 months; to take a good look at how we have grown and how far we have come.
Have you allowed yourself this year, to enjoy all of your victories small and not so small? These wins may in fact be non tangible, and be known only to yourself, but don't let that stop you from acknowledging them and celebrating them.
In the past, I have been guilty of going for the goal and not appreciating the small steps gained along the way. Tonight I plan on actually writing out my personal results for 2009, and taking a few moments to enjoy them before finalizing the intentions for 2010.
More importantly I plan on accepting all of myself - accepting the part of me that did not move forward as I had hoped for, accepting the woman that is... while becoming the woman that I aspire to be.
By accepting the dark as well as the light, I trust the resistance will move aside, and that my path will be filled with more clarity.
What change did you bring into 2009 for yourself and are most pleased with?
The late Jim Rohn, a great leader in the field of personal development had said the following in one of his talks: “Set a goal to become a millionaire for what it makes of you to achieve it. All that you will have learned and all that you will have become to reach the status of millionaire is what´s valuable, not the million dollars.”
And on this topic, I believe that Jan's blog post is definitely worth reading in its entirety .. The questions she asks definitely have me thinking What about You?
"A Dead Man Changed My Plans for 2010 " by Jan Janzen
I have to confess. I am probably one of the few people familiar with personal development who never read one thing that Jim Rohn wrote, I never listened to one of his talks or even searched out his website. Yes, I had heard his name but I never felt compelled to learn more about one of the founders of the personal development industry. Looking back, it´s a bit strange - kind of like wanting to become a minister and never reading a Bible. But that is the truth. Maybe you´ve never done any of Jim´s work either.
Ironically, it wasn’t until after his death in early December that I was sent a manuscript of a conversation with him. I decided it was time to get to know Jim Rohn. And am I ever glad I did.
He said several things that resonated with me but the one that changed my plans for 2010 was: “Set a goal to become a millionaire for what it makes of you to achieve it. All that you will have learned and all that you will have become to reach the status of millionaire is what´s valuable, not the million dollars.”
I thought about that and realized that it was a goal I wanted to achieve. Yes, I´ve talked about financial freedom and I´ve achieved a certain amount of that over the last few years but the goal of millionaire has felt somewhat elusive. Perhaps it´s because I haven´t hung around a lot of millionaires growing up nor is it something most of my friends aspire to. It hasn´t been a part of my daily conversation, that´s for sure.
However, in the pit of my stomach, I have always wondered if I could create a million dollar income. That niggling question has been there for a long time, buried under all the reasons why the timing isn´t right, it´s too much work and my most favorite, “I live the life of a millionaire in many ways without having the responsibility of being one.” That one has got me off the hook lots over the past couple of years as I have lived a most amazing life in some very beautiful places.
However, what Jim said intrigued me from a personal development point of view. What needs to change in my beliefs, personality, strategies, and thoughts to become a millionaire? What do I need to learn to become the millionaire that will forever change my life and my impact on the world? As easy as it is to become a millionaire today, there are obviously some things about it that make it sufficiently elusive that most people never achieve it. It is those things that intrigues me, scares me a little, but is brewing in the pit of my tummy.
Coincidentally, the same week that I read this manuscript of a conversation with Jim, I was sitting for the first time at what has become one of my most favorite restaurants here in Guatemala. Zoolas is a very cool Israe li restaurant that has a very neat atmosphere and downright amazing food at ridiculously low prices. As I was relishing the place for the first time, my heart felt sad that Greg wasn´t with me. Here I was creating memories that will forever make me smile, and the man that I love more than anything wasn´t there with me. For the first time, I felt the pang in my heart of not wanting to create such amazing memories without him at my side.
Become a millionaire and be with Greg. Wow – quite a shift from my gypsy lifestyle of living out of two suitcases, spending more time playing than making money and spending months away from Greg each year.
As I had just written my vision for 2010, it now needed some serious reworking. However, I have decided to stay in Guatemala until the end of April. I get that there is some amazing healing work that I need to continue to avail myself of during these four months. And my trip to Bali and Thailand this summer still feels very right and important for reasons that I don´t understand. It´s another case of I don´t even know the questions to ask, never mind the answers so I am trusting my intuition on this one. However, come this fall I will be giving up the suitcases to focus on my business once again and my amazing relationship with Greg.
What that will look like I don´t know. I´m sure there will be some definite guidance in that area. The instructions seem to show up when I need them.
However, as we begin 2010, I am going to ask that you ask yourself the same questions I asked myself. These aren´t necessarily easy questions but I believe they are important ones. And please don´t brush them off because you think that you don´t need all that money. Jim Rohn said, “Become the millionaire so you become the person that goal will make of you and then if you want, give the money away.” This is N OT about the money, this is about the personal growth you will need to do to reach that goal. Isn´t that an intriguing thought? It literally gives me goosebumps.
So here are the questions: What kind of person would you become if you were a millionaire?
What projects would you be able to afford to accomplish if money was no longer an issue in your life?
What dreams would you dare to dream if you knew you could afford to just do it?
What is stopping you from creating that million dollar income?
Are you willing to commit to become the person who can create the million dollar income?
Please let me know what comes up for you when you ask yourself these questions. I´d love to hear from you on this one. I think it´s that important for you and for this planet. If you´re following my blog this week, you´ll understand why.

Choosing to be an adventurer in consciousness rather than simply a tourist or spectator in life... means I do not delay or deny good coming into my life.
Yet, being human, I sometimes catch myself about to delay the good stuff from happening and coming to me because I hold the false belief that in order for things to change, I must wait for an external circumstance to change.
As I sit and put my life on hold, nothing changes.
Have you ever pressed the pause button?
Is so, when we push the play button once again the world we see and experience looks the same. There will have been no change in our daily experience, if there has not been a corresponding change in our level of consciousness and personal growth.
So let's be bold and step out of our comfort zones once again, and take the next step in our transformation.
I have come to know that it is crucial to stay deeply grounded while walking our spiritual path - while following our life's purpose.
Let's face it, a head trip can feel mighty blissful, and may be necessary at times in order to momentarily cope with the pain, and the chaos of reality.
However, the truth is that anyone who continues to do the head thing and tries to bypass the heart thing (dealing with the feelings and emotions) as well as ignore meeting the necessities of every day living, will eventually come crashing down.
I am not suggesting that we need to excavate every painful detail of our life. However, we do need to work through our issues, to get to know who we are and what are values are...to develop strong roots and develop our foundation in order to have "someone" to come home to when earth calls us back.
Besides it is our strong foundation that will be the stage on which we rise to answer our calling.
We actually become real and authentic, and hence develop a meaningful life... as we courageously choose to pick up the pieces of our life that are out of alignment and work at realigning them.
We are also required to put the processes in place to cover our basic needs of food, shelter, clothing and security. And only you know what that level of needs is for you. Only once we have met these needs can we hope to move upward to true self actualization.
So what are we to do? How does one follow their calling while not yet fully capable of doing only what they love?
Some people are following a path that may not yet generate sufficient dollars and it may never generate sufficient dollars on its own. However, they are hearing their calling and are pulled to follow it and follow it they must.
We may need to do something else to bring in the income, in the interim. And that is perfectly fine!
Taking baby steps towards our calling...continuously inching forward is easier and in the long run it actually proves to be a faster and surer way than trying to play leap frog and skip the necessary lessons and steps presented to us by the Universe!

As we move forward on our path, seeking to find and live our true purpose, we often spend a considerable amount of time working at releasing old pain, hurts, and toxic memories.
It has been said that excessive analysis can create paralysis.
So at times, we simply need to move away from the so called "battle grounds" we have known and instead [b]focus first on creating the right conditions for our growth.
Later when we have tasted a gentler reality, when we have put aside the chaos and the drama for a while... when we start to feel more peaceful, we can then go back and more deeply release from our blue print what has been holding us back.
My question for you today is: How are you lightening your load, and creating conditions that allow you to support your growth?
Cheers to manifesting more Joy, Success and Abundance!
If you have a few minutes take the time to be inspired by a beautifully touching video and one that needs to be promoted in order to help transform the false perceptions that exist out there in regards to the homeless. It demonstrates the human need to have a purpose, to feel that we are valued and making a contribution to society.
Dear Divas, One of the questions that has come up in my circle today is: What is surrendering?
Over the years, surrendering has looked and felt different depending where I was on my internal journey and in my level of consciousness. Back in 2005-2006 surrendering for me was about being willing to work with a good psychologist/coach and being willing to crack the veneer that had covered me for way too long - it was about being willing to look at my stuff and start to peel away some of the layers in order to start living and being more authentic. It was an intense time - one where lots of past issues came up and where there were moments I felt like I was standing in the void - no longer knowing what I believed and what I stood for. Surrendering was trusting the process and willing to see it through (choosing the right person for you is crucial). Some rituals that I used then were wisdom walks, journaling, and sitting in reflection/meditation.
Next came a period of about 18 months where I simply made a lot of time for learning from various models and teachers... gaining various perspectives and trying them on... to see what resonated and what felt truer for me. Through out the reading, the workshops, the learning and so on - I was able to recognize what were patterns that were no longer serving and beliefs that were false and needed to be eliminated - all of this one layer at a time. Many times it felt like it was 2 steps forward and 3 back. The journal entries helped me to see the progress I was making and could start to connect the dots to my truer path.
Over the last couple of years surrendering has been about practicing to connect with my Essence. The surrendering is gentler -though certainly not always easy - darn uncomfortable at times. Having a higher level of awareness and allowing myself to have a wider range of emotion - has allowed me to hold the space for myself and others in a broader way. Every area of my life has improved because of the internal journey and surrendering - and I can now more easily intuit when I am surrendering to Essence and when I am not. Then with my free will I can choose to make course corrections.
For now, I believe surrendering is something that we need to continue to practice at all levels of development and it feels different as we practice it and get better at it. Depending what we are living in the current day - we may need to put out the intention to surrender many times a day and at other times when we are moving with the river of Essence based flow experiences, we may not consciously be surrendering as often. As long as we walk on this physical plane, we need to remind ourselves that we will have very human experiences and feelings, and there will be moments where what we thought we had worked through will surface again - it simply means we have reached another layer of it.
One of my biggest lessons has been to move through my material at a slower pace - giving myself time to integrate the new inner templates of joy, of love, of abundance etc. because then my new defaults can stick.
Actually the smaller steps allow me to go faster because I do not get overwhelmed, or sucked into drama and chaos. I do not believe we can avoid all pain as we move through our stuff and become more real. However I also do not believe that you have to make yourself suffer. Some people have suffering as a subconscious template; they have the need to suffer before feeling they deserve anything better - that can be changed.
My experience is that some methods of "enrealment" are gentler than others. Everyone needs to find what works and resonates for them. Keep asking the questions and searching, because it is so worth it. It really does not matter where you start because everything touches everything. What is Your definition of surrendering, and what does that look like for you?
Wishing you fruitful surrendering!

One of the lessons learned over the years while walking the internal path was... do not try to intellectualize the process and jump ahead... but rather Be in the process and live your unfoldment... like the petals of a flower opening up...
Time is needed to integrate each new learning and gestate... while the new thought, belief and awareness seeds grow...
I have to admit it took me a while to learn this one...
Cheers to manifesting more Joy, Success and Abundance!
A new moon, a time of creation, manifestation, birth, and rebirth...
A perfect time to start turning within...
I have found that by turning within and combining experiences for personal growth such as masterminding core calls/Prosperity Hormone calls, being coached, attending conferences, participating in workshops, seeking various healing modalities... it all leads to unmasking.
Being willing to unmask leads you to your truth and to being your authentic self. Sometimes we have spent so many years living so far from our true self that when we approach the real us, it can feel mighty uncomfortable.
It can even be very lonely on the spiritual path, as people, situations, and circumstances are either let go of consciously, or drop away naturally. There are times we must walk part of the path by ourselves till we find our “soulpod”.
The internal journey, or spiritual journey – what ever label you want to give it is a continuous one. We peel one layer of the onion at a time.
However there does come a point in time, where the inner strength you have developed, the courage you have cultivated, and the wisdom you are able to tap into will grow exponentially rather than in a linear fashion.
All of it leaving you feeling centered, and confident that what you are searching for is searching you, and is around the corner. You will connect with your life’s purpose and feel a deep sense of satisfaction. Do we need any more reasons for starting on our internal path?
Cheers to manifesting more Joy, Internal Success, Fulfillment and Abundance!
BraveHeart View - What an inspiring, informative and downright fabulous episode that was aired today with Barbara Marx Hubbard!!!
After listening to Barbara, I have never felt so good about having already turned 50.
Barbara very eloquently put into words the new meaning of "getting older" - of having the blessed opportunity to experience not only a first regenopause but also a second regenopause after 80 years of acquired wisdom!
I love her concept of expanding our sexuality; our sexual energy rising to meet our creative energy and being turned on to giving spiritually and creatively!
Divas, if you have not yet had a chance to listen to this particular BraveHeart view... don't delay. Click on the link below and discover this social innovator's wonderful message.
One of the many lessons I understood a few years ago, was that it does not matter where you start on the path of personal growth, whether you choose to start in the emotional, physical, spiritual or mental realm because everything touches everything.
With time, what you do in one area of your life will impact the others. As Nike says, “Just do it!” or in this case, “Just grow!”
Grow more creative, grow more self confidence, grow more groundedness, grow more wisdom...grow what you desire.
Having said that, you will however want to make feeling better physically a priority fairly early in the process, because when we are physically not at ease it is much harder to keep the mind focused on the positive.
In the summer of 2005 after being on a six week body cleanse, I could physically see better and all my senses were more alive and responsive. I felt a level of lightness I could not remember experiencing before. Definitely an experience I need to repeat!
At this time, I am working on growing more creativity and expressing my voice.
What are you growing more of?
Cheers to manifesting more Joy, Internal Success, Abundance!
