I would like to collaborate with other women who have been successful in building a career working from home. I have some fear to overcome, and I am not sure where to get started. I have the education, I just need to decide on what it is that I really want to do and then take the steps to get started. I look forward to your support, wisdom and encouragement.

Hi Elizabeth,
You are in the right place. There is a smorgasbord of opportunities available. It is like you have the deluxe menu and you can select anything you want. Rather than have everyone throw their work or passions at you, tell us a little more about your self. Do you have a talent? What was it you studied? Did you like what you studied? Are you a social person that needs to be around others? Do you love to write, surf or help a certain type of people, place or thing?
What the heck do you do that brings you an immense amount of joy? So much so that you would be willing to do it for free. Looking forward to hearing about the real you.

The clearer the picture the sooner you get to uncover the treasure...

I have worked advising small, new and home businesses for several years now and the one thing they all have in common is overpaying for almost everything, including many things they didn't need in the first place. In a bad economy, the world is full of scam artists just waiting for someone inexperienced to pass their way.

That led me to begin a website this year for people like you to find everything they need in one place, safe from all of those who would take advantage of you.

Please, go to http://www.thatsitforless.com, click first on "Start It Up" where you will find pages packed with free advice and full of links to all of the legitimate and free places to find what you need, like the Small Business Administration, SCORE, free accounting tutorials, free business toolkit packed with info and free forms, etc.

Then go to the section titled "Promote It" where you will find pages packed with free or almost free ways to promote your business - and I do mean packed!.

Then go to "Fake It Til You Make It" which will give you links to legitimate vendors offering inexpensive virtual receptionists, virtual fax services, low cost websites, low cost printing services for professional business cards, pamphlets, etc. This will make you look like a professional, not like someone who is running her business from her dining room table (even if you are!).

If you make it, and I hope you do, then (and only then) go to the "Buy the Bling" section and reward yourself!

The more knowledge you have, the lower your chances of being ripped off. You can get all the information you need for free. Don't let anyone tell you any different!

Hi,

I have worked from home since 1995 in various guises, and it has been a sometimes scary journey, with no one giving you a pay check at the end of the month, but eventually you learn to trust, take a few calculated risks and enjoy the ride.

The first step is to know what it is that you want to do, and many of us tend to come a bit adrift here, because we end up doing what we think will make us a living, or what we think we should do, rather than what our hearts tell us.

Doing work that fills you with passion is the absolute pinacle to success. If you love what you do, you will focus on it, you won't give up and you will be able to ride the tough times because you believe in it. This, in my experience, is the core foundation of everything that you do from hereon, so it is worth taking the time to get real clear on this.

Working from home can be a lonely process, so it is also important that you have some 'live' support, someone you can talk to, meet up for coffee and exchange ideas with. Women's networking groups are great for this, and it's worth going along to a few to see what everyone else is doing, and what the pros and cons are.

For anyone setting out on the MLM journey, this is a whole other box of frogs, and there are a lot of MLM companies out there that pretty much set you up to fail.

So many boxes need to be ticked to make a MLM work, because with odds such as 93% of MLM failure rate, you risk losing money, confidence and heart.

I have started a FREE mentoring MLM blog, based on my experience in MLM, eventually making my way to a company that has all the boxes ticked. Do check it out as I will be posting articles regularly, so eventually, you will have a complete process to follow.

And if you need any help with any of this, do email me

Hi Ladies,
I am a 51 year old, divorced mother of two, now, adult children that attend university full time. I now find myself in the position of having to rediscover who I am, and what I am going to do, as I will have to support myself and my children for a while yet. I'm scared to death and really feeling like there is no hope. I've been a stay at home mom for years and as the story goes, spent my best years and youngest years helping my ex with his career etc. If there are any suggestions out there, I would really love to have my own business, but I'm not sure how I'm even supposed to start going about it. Please help! Bless all of you, Bleedingheart

I would love to a correspond with you. I love being a member of the BraveHeart Women's Community.

I have a full time job at the local hospital, am raising a family and helping my husband run his business but still needed to bring in some extra income especially during these hard economic times. I didn't have the money or time to dedicate to generating an other business but I can now say...

" have a great way to earn a very good additional income from home and enjoy economical travel and vacations. Check out my website www.lisabreakell.worldventures.biz"

Wow, Getting the vacations is a bonus I didn't expect!! Faith and hope pays off, you just have to be a BraveHeart Women.

Hi. I'm getting ready to start an E-business selling wellness service and products. It had a low start up fee and I'll have a mentor. To be honest, I'm a little worried and very nervous. I haven't ever done anything like this before, and I've heard of so many scams out there. I would love any advice or suggestions anyone could give me...And, just in case this doesn't work out, I'd like to keep in contact with anyone with different ideas that have worked for them.I know one of the main secrets to success is believing in myself, so I'm trying to keep that in check. :) Thanks ladies.

In April of 2009, I was laid off from my position of 10 1/2 years (tho I still had my other PT play j-o-b). In July of '09 I was volunteering at the county fair and a lady that I knew from years of Pampered Chef had a booth as a vendor. She is also a BioFeedback Specialist and she had a "NEW" nutritional product. I had been taking a different product so I didn't really ask her about it but the next day I came dragging in ~ straight to Diane's booth. "Does this stuff really work?" so she gave me a sample. You see this was a 5-day-long fair and as a volunteer that meant, for me, to be there from the open to closing 10 am - 1 am from Wednesday - Sunday. I was back at her booth the next day buying a trial pack, the next Monday I bought 2 to get me thru the State Fair I was going to.
Now a year later, I'm still working the business on a part-time basis and I am ready to ramp up the business. September 9-12 I will be in Nashville for the national event. Looking forward to learning more about the Miracle Tree and meeting some of the people have been doing conference calls with.

If you are looking for optimal nutrition, Zija is the way to go...90 verifiable nutrients in ONE product with natural anti-inflammatories, antioxidants, aminos, omegas and it doesn't taste bad. It sort of has a tea taste to it.

Elizabeth,

I love working from home with my business. Passionate is the key word and believe in what you are doing. I am willing to share with you what I do and you can see if it would be an interest to you. Thoroughly investigating the home base business is a good idea too.

If I can be of some assistance, just let me know.

Have a positve joyous day.

I also started a web site when I was laid off from my job. I sell pearl jewelry. I've spent a lot of time working on the web site and marketing it. I've learned a lot, and traffic is gradually building to the site. But I have very few sales. So I could also use some tips on what others have experienced, and what works.
You can take a look at my site, and see what you think. http://www.ThePerfectPearlPlace.com.

Thanks,
Sherry

I'm wanting to work from home also. Something legitimate and productive. I'm a past legal secretary (they're called legal assistants now) and over the years have typed at home a lot but it's not consistent enough. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'll look at the aforementioned website and thanks in advance for sharing.

Hi,

I've been working at home for just a year now ever since I got laid off last year due to the economy (you know how the story goes! LOL). Truth is, it has been the best thing to happen to me. I got to realize what I love to do and make a living doing it. It can be scary but there are A LOT of resources out there to help you build almost any kind of business.

Lately I have found a wealth of information on how to start and grow your business and online is a great way to start.

What do you love to do? What are your passions? Once you figure out what you would love to do, then you can start figuring out how to make money and we can help you of course :)

I've been spending alot of time searching the net for work at home opportunities. I have come across several with low or no startups. Some are serious businesses and some are just simple money making opportunities. One good place to start may be http://bit.ly/dnckmF. It gives you a choice of either just marketing their site and making nice money or you can be more creative and actually build a real business with their program. If your interested in more information I am willing to offer.
Bonnie..
Hi,
I have worked from home for years, part time and full time, and I love it. What kind of work are you able to do? I know quite a bit about working from home, and the type of business that works well in that environment, I'd be happy to chat with you.
