Changing Pregnancy and Childbirth Worldwide

Changing Pregnancy and Childbirth Worldwide

I just joined Aug 14, 2010 so I'm very new to BHW.

As Director for Common Knowledge Trust, a NZ registered charitable Trust, we are presently working on re-formatting our much loved Birthing Better with The Pink Kit Method® resources.

One goal for CKT has always been to produce a very simple resource that can be given/shown to women in villages worldwide about how to prepare the pregnant body to become a birthing body.

One NZ midwife has collected Pink Kit statistics. I haven't installed a hyperlink here because we're soon going to replace our www.birthingbetter.com with our upgraded website. But you can find them on bb (top menu, Who we are, statistics).

Andrea will write a proposal to our Ex Prime Minister, Helen Clarke, who is the head of Economic Development for the United Nations.

As many of you know, the UN recently launched a Maternal Health Initiative. We know we have a set of pregnancy/childbirth skills that are based on the commonality of our human body.

Although developing modern maternity health systems may be the ideal, we, as women (and where husbands/partners are involved) must know how to prepare our body to be a birthing body.

This concept has not become part of the modern childbirth conversation and we are determined to change that. So we're excited that we're seeking funds to create this grassroots resource.

Will these skills be accepted in different cultures and religions? Do you blink, cough or can you tighten up down there? Not only do ALL women do that, ALL men do too!

We know our common knowledge pregnancy and childbirth skills are accepted by all women because they are about our commonality and make common sense.
