Children killing Children
A 16-year-old boy was beaten to death in a melee involving dozens of people Thursday afternoon in the Far South Side’s Roseland neighborhood.
I raised my 4 sons in the city of Chicago and I can tell you from experience that the streets of Chicago was a war zone then and still is today.
My concern is what can be done and why isn't anyone doing anything about it. The only thing I can do at this time is hold the light of hope over the city and pray.
I am asking that others join me in prayer and holding the light. for our youth. We can do this and make a difference. Thanks for caring.

Hello Nazeelah, i am so glad you posted this.Micheal Baisden a is sponsoring a 1Million Mentors campaigne, to reach out to our youth. Its not just in the big cities its in the rural areas as well and we all need to step up to the plate for our youth. i am in the process of organizing some discussion groups for the youth in my church and community finding volunteers id not an easy task but having raised two sons of my own ages 18 and 21 as a single parent I understand the value of positive role models(especially men). I am still concerned about the effects the lack of a positive male presence is had on my sons. i am married to an amazing man that has custody of his daughters and sets an excellent example of what a real man is.My fear is thats its over due.I have attached the link to his website in case you want to check it out. There are also young ladies that need mentoring. http://www.millionmentors.com -- Michelle G. williams C.P.C "You cannot teach a person anything; you can only help them find it within themselves''.

Thank you for your post. I will join in prayer. And I also agree with what you are doing that we need to say and do something. By speaking out we start to move. Women can influence their society if we act.
