I watched a documentary called "Rough Aunties," and learned about this amazing organization. Here is a description of who they are and what they do.
----
Operation Bobbi Bear is a non-profit organization based in Amanzimtoti, in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. They assist raped and abused children through the system and ensure that secondary abuse does not occur.
These women are doing the work of angels, touching the lives of hundreds of children each year, taking a terrible situation and making it better for them. Giving them a new start, a new chance at life.
--------
This organization consists of just a handful of caring people, uniting and taking a stand to protect children from the rape. Some of these people were shy and retiring people when they first joined Bobbi Bear, but have found in fighting for the rights of abused children, they have found their own voices and power. Now they are no longer "soft spoken." Instead, they have become warriors on the front lines of this battle, and a force to be reckoned with.
This group of brave people is proof that a small group of caring people can make a major difference. The work they do is so meaningful and inspiring.
They are changing lives and making a real difference in the world.
I hope that you will take the time to check out this organization and it's works, and share this with others.
If ever there was a perfect example of a small group of women making great changes, this is it.
