On February 23, 2007, I woke up in the critical ICU at Albany Medical Center due to a brain aneurysm rupture. I only remembered I had terrible headache during office lunch hour at a restaurant. I was with my co-worker and collapsed on February 22, 2007. When I asked what had happened to me, my neurosurgeon explained that I should think of my brain as having had bombing attack. So it was a war against my body. The first surgery consisted of a neurosurgeons’ drilling on my head in order to drain the ruptured blood. Hospital showed extra care when draining the fluid from my ruptured brain, taking a long time to drain the blood. When I wanted to change my body positions, I had to let the nurse know so that the nurses and patient assistants had to move all the monitoring wires and draining equipment to the other side. They had to make sure the draining equipment and my eyes were parallel, otherwise I would suffer a terrible headache or increase my brain pressure, which could cause death. When I was sleeping in the night, the nurses were watching over me and helped to reposition my body. From this procedure, I learned that sometimes I do need help from others in terms of positioning my body. Since the rupture, I learned a lesson that I had been taking for granted so many things without realizing. My body is not my own forever. Your body is not your own forever. But it is a rental body. We are obligated to return our rental body into the nature safely without going against the nature’s will.
So I have learned to be humbled. So I have learned to worship my body. So I have learned not to take things for granted. I am humbled in my rental body. So I am humbled in my two hands. So I am humbled in my feet. So I am humbled in my two legs. So I am humbled in my two arms. So I am humbled in my two ears. So I am humbled in my two eyes.
Since the rupture, I decided to worship them every day. So I decided to say ‘Thank you’ to them every day. So I decided to send my love to them every day. So I have decided to ‘comb’ my extremities toward the heart every day, and from the core to the extremities. I take a dry towel to sliding from my fingertips up to the shoulders toward the heart. I do the same with my legs from toenail up to the hips toward the heart.
Dear my lovely feet, I want to take time to say, thank you for being my feet.
Because of you, I am able to go to the school.
Because of you, I am able to go to the grocery shopping.
Because of you, I am able to go to the library.
Thank you for being my toenail!
Thank you for being my toes!
Thank you for being my feet!
Thank you for being my ankle!
Thank you for being my knees!
Thank you for being my legs!
Thank you for being my hips!

Dear my lovely hands, I want to take time to say, thank you for being my hands.
Because of you, I am able to write.
Because of you, I am able to grab.
Because of you, I am able to shake hands with others.
Thank you for being my nail!
Thank you for being my fingers!
Thank you for being my hands!
Thank you for being my wrists!
Thank you for being my forearms!
Thank you for being my elbows!
Thank you for being my arms!
Thank you for being my shoulders!

I want you to spread this love & respect toward your rental body bodies. This love & respect toward your rental body will ideally pay it forward so that the earth can be healed and ultimately the universe can be in harmony
