Simply Having Enough

Simply Having Enough

I heard a speech made by Michael Bernard Beckwith the other day that answered this question to the tee.

He stated, in his usual eloquent way, that the major problem in the world today was that people should be brought into this world having the basic elements met for them upon their arrival….food, shelter, and clothing. Then, all sentient beings would be able to focus on the important things in our everyday lives and the wonders that life offers us.

However, the question still remains…how DO we give this to all sentient beings on the planet? Perhaps this is where being a BraveHeart Woman comes into play!

Oh, yes, it was an eloquent speech...... To the question of how do we give this to all sentient beings on the planet? I say research back in history when our ancestors did just that! The concept of the IWW was sound! They laid their lives on the line to secure a just wage for all and a 40 hour work week! They stood up together and refused to be denied the simple right of enough! Does anyone remember the picture of the "scared black cat" largely pictured on railway cars? That was the IWW!!!
Being a Brave Heart Women comes with alot of tears, when you remember those relatives who gave their lives in this struggle. It's time to join this battle again. Bring the concepts of the IWW to the foreground again! Their documentary shows their struggle, their songs, their courage, their sacrifice.
We dropped the ball! We didnot continue the right struggle! We didnot notice the Air pollution as a sign of things to come! They warned us and through media, they are still warning us! Who will heed the call! Who will join together with our ancestors struggle and define ourselves once again as the United World Workers of Simply having Enough?!
Was their struggle in vain? Did they not accomplish what their PUrPOSE was? Life is a process. They paved the way for generations to come. We must embrace these concepts again! We must fight the good fight, not dismiss the "scared black cat" as another Halloween window decoration!
Yes, it was an eloquent speech.
In the Good Old Picket Line................................... .

I am reminded of a vision I received several years ago of a little boy holdng a pebble, standing beside his teacher. In anger the little boy threw the pebble into the pond and then watched as the ripples spread out leaving a lasting effect. The teacher gracefully spoke to the little boy explaining the importance of being aware of the energy that you put out because it is this energy that will spread out and have an impact on everyone and everything around you. If you want to carry a feeling of knowing that you are enough - that you have enough - that are beautiful - that you are loveable - that you are the change you wish to see... then it starts with you. You are the point of change, the point at which the world becomes transformed simply by the intention and focused thought that creates all that is lovely or all that is seemingly horrid in the world... so simply having enough is KNOWING in your own heart first so that when you toss the pebble into the pond it will carry that knowing with it ...

ohhh... the old questtion "Me first or others first?"
Still the "either-or" thinking so instilled in our minds...
How about "Me first in order to be there for others?"
See the example of an Oxigen mask above every seat on an airplane. The pasangers are asked to ALWAYS put their own mask on first in order to be able to help others, also to spare extra effort to the crew...

The better we take care of ourselves the more useful we are to others. The challenge is not to stop on the self-care, but live as a source of care to others.

You can not give from an empty pocket :)

Has anyone else had the chance to download Paul Bauer's new program, Life's Purpose? If so, any comments on the part regarding taking care of others, rather than focusing on your own needs? I believe that taking care of others is really important! In fact, I have spent my whole life doing pretty much that. But I have done it mostly at the expense of neglecting my inner self. Not all the time, but most of the time.

Love,
Becky

I have read "The hidden messages in water" and loved it. The two most important words that come out of the book are: love & gratitude. It just shows us how powerful we are in the way we behave and how it effects others.

I like the saying "Be the change you would like to see"
"Why things are the way they are" often leads to beliefs (difficult to understand) about reality, and not all of them are equally useful, some are even dangerous.
To me, a more useful (and safer) question is "How things work?"
While the first question is usually answered by religions, the second is usually answered by science. While science without ethics/wisdom is also dangerous (power can be used for destruction not growth) I like to be guided by an ethical principle of compassion for all beings, and recognition that, ultimately, we are all connected.
So: "What goes out comes around", I really believe that our first responsibility is to work on ourselves; work on becoming stronger, wiser, more compassionate and whole human beings that we are. By healing ourselves we will heal the world.
It scares me when I hear that something has been predestined in any shape or form. It suggests that a supernatural power other than ourselves makes arbitrary decisions about our (and other's) lifes. And yes, we do experience results of our decisions, individually and collectively.
What goes out comes around, and this includes greed as well as generosity, love as well as hate...

I think it is a very difficult question....
And it seems that since all ..that we know exist...it works that way...people have lot and others have nothing.......If it is like this that may be because of a good reason..even it seems so unfair....karmic..reasons..??? but some people really develop strong caracter and compassion...and make a difference - every body can make a little difference every day..by giving ..even a smile to someone....
Like Gandhi said : Be the change you d like to see

This is a brilliant question, an important question - and an urgent question.
We, I mean we as a world, need more global thinking.
And that is where we as BraveHeartWoman might come in.
This question isn't easily answered, but fortunately there are many póssible answers.
Maybe it starts just with us asking ourselves, personally:
'What are my passions and my talents, and how can I make them of use? How can I be of service?'
Of course this community is the best start I ever saw.

I think though that many problems will be - relatively easily - solved when people, men and women alike, dare to live their passion, and do what they where meant to do.

So many people work a job they disgust to bring home the bacon.
And I cannot blame them, because the kids, or pets, or just themselves need feeding, don't they?

I think a big part of the urge to consume is a lack of nurturing the soul, ones most innerbeing. We got full agenda's, loads of responsibilities and we forget how to make time for ourselves, to reasses where we stand and where we can go from there.

Anywa, that;s just my two cents, for now.

Yes... HOW DO WE DO IT?
As we come together in the common cause, I like the motto "Act locally, think globally."
In our small community there are several women who are, to me, examples of this purpose-oriented action. Their particular activism is in the area of caring for children with developmental disability. Although they need the established social systems already in place, they strive to create as many system-independent support sources as possible (example being a locally organized and supported independent living, a private, non-profit thrift shop with various other services, etc).
There is a world-wide movement "With No Name" described by Paul Hawken. Paul "...is an environmentalist, entrepreneur and the author of... The Next Economy (1983), The Ecology of Commerce: A Declaration of Sustainability (1993), and Natural Capitalism: Creating the Next Industrial Revolution (1999).
In the interview (with Tricycle Fall 2008) he describes a world-wide organizations, activities and networks, hopefully helping to answer the question "How Do We Do It?".
Although the interview was conducted by and within a Buddhist community, it provides many examples and well researched information about the global direction and efforts. It gives me a sense of hope as well as an examples for individual efforts.

Cindy, greed is the reason that the economy is in trouble. But I do believe that if we continue to humble ourselves through prayer, meditations, universal requests, and any way to get a positive contact...things will have to turn around and begin with new creative achievements.:)

We live in 2 realities. One is our physical reality. The other is our spiritual reality. Our physical reality is but a fragment of the One reality. Everything that we need is contained in the perfection of the Divine. The One power surrounds us, enfolds us, protects us, guides us in an never-ending flow. Limitations come to us in our physical reality because that is the nature of being physical beings. We have forgotten that we are always Divine Beings and there is an everlasting supply of what our dreams and hearts desire. If we remember this, we can open ourselves to letting God work through us. Do not despair, your prayers are being answered even in the darkest moments. Stay in the present moment always and create your new reality moment to moment. This is where God and you create.

Hello Cindy,

Your question is a very thought provoking one... Knowing that many creative minds coming together to find solutions, will sooner or later find the answer ... I would say that BraveHeart women will one day find solutions and answers to some of the world's most urgent issues.

As BraveHeart women continue to blossom, and live their life with purpose and passion, they will come from a place of abundance and have much to share and offer to human kind.

Thank you for sharing!
