Good morning, how are you today? I'm hoping to catch you first thing this AM, wanted to give you food for thought...do you have dry mouth?
As most of us know, taking care of yourself isn't always easy, right? We grab what is convenient and not necessarily what is best for us.
What do I mean by that? Well, consider this...
Did you know that each of us need to drink at least "8" - eight ounce glasses of crisp, clean, cold water per day?
When is the last time you drank at least that much water in one waking day? By the time we realize that our mouths are dry, we feel like we have them stuffed with cotton...our body is already in a state of dehydration.
Now, consider this...if you drink 2 to 3 cups of coffee in one day...
then you need to add to those "8" - eight ounce glasses of water another 8 ounces for every cup of coffee or tea that you have consumed!
Do you drink soda? The same principle goes for soda drinkers as coffee and tea drinkers. You see, coffee, tea and soda are all drinks that dehydrate your body. Have you ever noticed that you are thirsty after drinking one of those drinks? Ever noticed how much more you are going to the bathroom after drinking a cup?
Your body is losing more water than it can afford...not good...for you!
Before learning these and other tips about my health, I used to drink a couple pots of coffee and at least a six pack of soda...per day! Not only was my body really dehydrated, but my skin was awful, I had packed on over 90 pounds and I suffered from many other health issues...wonder why!
Learn from my mistake, don't go there...start taking care of yourself today. One step at a time, and you can do it, just like I did...
So, the challenge for this week is to change your drinking habit.
Start the morning with a glass of water, before grabbing that cup of coffee. Be aware of what you are putting in your mouth...reach for a glass of crisp, clean, cold water each time you want something to drink, your body will thank you...and...you'll lose weight, too.
Until next time...to your health,
