Anyone else receiving SPAM here?

I am a new member here and after my first welcome email in my inbox, I found this one. Anyone else having this problem? My name is Aisha Mohd, a 65 years old Libya citizen woman with a multiracial heritage of Black born in Jan. 1947, suffering from a long time cancer of the breast, I have decided to Willingly Donate the sum of $8 million(Eight Million United state Dollars) to charity and individual through you for the good work of the lord, and to help the motherless, less privileged and also for the assistance of the widows. My husband was an Engineer with an oil company in Togo, In fact it is too sad to let you know that i lost my dear husband and two kids in a tragic motor accident, and since then i have been battling with this deadly breast cancer disease which most specialist doctors have confirmed that i may not survive no matter what. Nigeria is known as the SPAM and SCAM capital of the world.... they send many types of emails...some about a dire situation and some want to give you millions of dollars etc... ... there are many versions. Some prey on lonely women through email, through facebook and all social sites. Nigeria seems to be quite organizd when it comes to scams... apparently there is nothing we can do but clean out the spam as regularly as possible. If you are person who only gets a few emails a day, then you will also receive less spam. Those of us who get hundreds of emails a day, also receive much more spam in a day. Keep in mind though, that some email that is wanted, may still come through your spam or bulk folder, so you do need to look at the subject lines and the FROM section just in case the email is legitimate and from someone you may know. If you have GMail just keep flagging such things as SPAM without even opening them, or even if you do open it, flag it as SPAM and GMail filters will recognize it as such and begin to divert such messages.
SPAM happens all the time, but it depends on the mail account you have, any filters you have set on your email account, etc. I'm not sure if it is related specifically to joining this forum/community or if that was even your question, but either way, hopefully doing the above things you can cut down your SPAM in your Inbox.

I get spam from Nigeria and Somalia. What makes me think it is actually a guy who sends them, signing in as a woman?

Actually I am incorrect - I have 2 emails in my inbox and BOTH are SPAM!!!! Is there no control here?
